  1. Things NOT to do on a SEPTA bus in Kensington: admire the big, beautiful bag of za'atar you picked up from a spice shop down in the Italian Market on your way home from South Philly. Because after a beat, you'll realize it looks remarkably like a giant bag of weed, seeds and all.

And now you've attracted the unflinching attention of the seven zombies who've just shuffled up onto the bus from the methadone clinic down the block.

    Oops.

I also now have three pounds of frozen honeycomb tripe. Time to break out the canned tomatoes, and get to work on an Israeli-flavored version of the stewed Italian tripe from George's down South Philly that I love so much!

I think I'm onto something here. I'm thinking stewed Italian tripe meets shakshuka. Will follow up with results when they're satisfactory.

Fams coming down from NJ tomorrow for the day. One of the sisters, and her husband. We're gonna do some eatin' and some beerin'. Probably Dock Street this time. Looking forward to it!

Next weekend, my daughter and her mother are coming down. Have to find a way to get more autumn vegetables into an extremely picky 15-year old. She's half-me, so she should love brussels sprouts at least half as much as I do, damnit! ;)

  2. Btw, what happened to the UK blog Harry's Place? Seems to be offline for like a week now?

  3. Yeah I 've been trying to find out about Harry's Place but no luck yet.

  4. Have to wonder if it's got something to do with those wonderful UK libel laws, eh? Again. This has happened before with that blog, unfortunately.

I'd bet some wish we had similar laws here, eh? Then again, that goes both ways, so those same people could quite well find themselves 'convicted racists' soon enough, too.

I choose the side of free speech, myself. Which is why I also oppose 'hate speech' laws. I rather prefer to expose bigots, and embarrass them into submission. At least I'm consistent in my words and actions.

    1. Twitter is saying it's a DDOS attack.

    2. Distributed denial-of-service attack. Surprised it's lasted so long, if that is indeed the case.

    3. To clarify, I mean I'm surprised it was so 'successful,' and I do hope it gets resolved soon. They must have really struck somebody's nerve, eh?
