And ideology is a tough nut, for sure. It is something that becomes a part of who we are to an extent that most are not even aware of it.

It resides in the unspoken assumptions. And in this case the unspoken assumption is that the Palestinians are the underdogs and the Israelis are the overcats.

Ever since June of 1967.

It's a matter of perception, but not of reality.Mike L.https://www.blogger.com/profile/06450806807610560873noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6579213173749170024.post-41640874779027935622011-11-21T19:11:56.737-08:002011-11-21T19:11:56.737-08:00Thanks for the links, Daniel! Among non-Jewish respondents, a strikingly high 24.6 percent of Americans blamed “the Jews” a moderate amount or more, and 38.4 percent attributed at least some level of blame to the group.
Interestingly, Democrats were especially prone to blaming Jews: while 32 percent of Democrats accorded at least moderate blame, only 18.4 percent of Republicans did so (a statistically significant difference). This difference is somewhat surprising given the presumed higher degree of racial tolerance among liberals and the fact that Jews are a central part of the Democratic Party’s electoral coalition."Doodadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03349941094682080146noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6579213173749170024.post-85111846639807303822011-11-21T17:26:00.829-08:002011-11-21T17:26:00.829-08:00I recently posted the following on CiF Watch (on t...I recently posted the following on CiF Watch (on the post: "Amazon.com customers praise truths of ‘The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion’", which is a post that I found out about by reading a comment by Doodad in which he referred to it), but I posted some emotional unskillful comments before I posted the following, so I think that my posting it there was not as beneficial as it would have been if I had posted it without having posted the emotional unskillful other comments that I posted.

----

On the Contemporary Western Mainstream "Protocols of the Elders of Zion"

Mainstreaming Hate - How media companies are using the Internet to make anti-Semitism respectable, by American political analyst Lee Smith
http://www.tabletmag.com/news-and-politics/40064/mainstreaming-hate/

Johann von Leers and Walt/Mearsheimer, by German academic scholar Clemens Heni
http://clemensheni.wordpress.com/2011/01/21/johann-von-leers-and-waltmearsheimer/

Antisemitism in America – Yale Kills YIISA, by Clemens Heni
http://clemensheni.wordpress.com/2011/06/08/yale-kills-yiisa/

The Arab Lobby, by Lee Smith
http://www.tabletmag.com/news-and-politics/44096/the-arab-lobby/Daniel Bielakhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15792786894694523598noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6579213173749170024.post-34879225465579210662011-11-21T16:03:10.026-08:002011-11-21T16:03:10.026-08:00Antisemitism is a global phenomenon and much worse...Antisemitism is a global phenomenon and much worse in nearly every other part of the world, particularly in Europe. That said, it's still at unacceptable levels in the United States. We make up a mere 2% of the population, and yet 67% of religiously-motivated bias incidents (at least as defined by the FBI, I would consider antisemitism both ethnic and religious hatred) are antisemitic in nature. And one can't help but think of France, where Orthodox rabbis have said that men should not wear kippot because of just how dangerous it is there.Reuvenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11244438675012791990noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6579213173749170024.post-52673762823087454802011-11-21T15:32:49.583-08:002011-11-21T15:32:49.583-08:00If Israel would just up and die the Garden of Eden...If Israel would just up and die the Garden of Eden would envelope the world and there would be everlasting peace.
