Israel Under Hail of Rocket Fire, Left Could Care Less

Palestinian terrorists in Gaza fired at least seven volleys of rocket fire into southern Israel on Monday afternoon and evening, undermining reports of a cease-fire.

While our friends over at Daily Kos are complaining about the US cutting off funds to UNESCO, they haven't even noticed that Israel is now under constant rocket fire from savage Islamists in the Gaza strip.

Y'know, I keep saying that the problem with the left is not that it's anti-Semitic, but that they are more than happy to accommodate anti-Semites.

Perhaps I should rethink that, a little.

Check This One Out

This is a very nicely done non-political video by an Israeli that seems to be making the rounds in the Jewish blogosphere.

A Tip O' the Kippa to The Atlantic.

Why Liberal Jews Cannot Face Reality

One of the more significant developments on the progressive-left when it comes to the Long Arab War Against the Jews is in the failure of liberal Jews to recognize that the Jews of the Middle East are in a war that has been going on for almost one hundred years, a war that they did not start and do not deserve.

What we are witnessing is not Jews being mean to Palestinians and Palestinians responding to that meanness, as they would tell you on the left, but something close to the exact opposite. Liberal Jews will almost never face this, however, because to do so puts them in conflict with their own political movement. If liberal Jews insist that Israel has every right to defend itself and that Hamas and Hezbollah are genocidal organizations that seek the murder of Jewish people than we are derogated as "racists."

Most progressives do not really mind Arab efforts to murder Jews and if we say so (that is, if we speak the truth) than we get harassed and spit at by people who are alleged to be our political allies. The problem, of course, is that the progressive-left is not a political ally of Jews, period, and that is also something that we must never acknowledge because to do so puts us directly into conflict with our "friends."

But they aren't our friends and that's the point.

Liberal Jews absolutely refuse to acknowledge the obvious because they do not want to pay the social price necessary for doing so.

Events, however, may force them, yet, to recognize what they refuse to recognize or speak about what they refuse to speak about. The time may come, perhaps during the next Israeli war, when they may have little choice because no matter the events leading up to that war, progressives will blame everything on us.

They do so because they place ideology and politics above truth. If a given truth does not bolster their ideology than either it gets ignored or it gets distorted in such a manner as to do so. For example, the pipe and knife wielding Jihadis aboard the Mavi Marmara are represented on the left as "peace activists."

We have video footage of these "peace activists" attacking the IDF and yet progressives still insist that the Jihadis attempting murder were peaceful. Its as if they do not recognize violence against Jews as violence. We, needless to say, cannot afford any such luxury.

The left is dead.

Time to bury it, because it is stinking up the joint.

Palestinians Attack Israel Again (and Again and Again)

Ceasefire breached; rockets fired at greater Beersheba area

Tensions in southern Israel high again as Gaza-fired projectiles land near Beersheba, outskirts of Ashkelon. Iron Dome defense system engaged

So, the Jews of the Middle East continue to be used as punching bags by the local Arabs and if they dare retaliate they are the "bad guys" according to the vicious progressive left.

As I've said before, they honestly seem to believe that the only moral Jew is a suicidal Jew or a Jew that will not defend himself.

How revolting.

It's almost akin to evil, in fact.

Here is a chart of 12 months of Arab violence on Jews in Israel.

And the left honestly thinks that they deserve it.

Troubadour Is Back

After a long absence from I/P (not long enough) the Troubadour is back trying to conflate OWS teargassing with Israel. Typical "Israel bad-24/7" routine we all have come to expect from Kossacks. Luckily not everyone is buying it.

Something about this doesn't feel right. (10+ / 0-

It feels like an attempt to use what happened here (Oakland) as a way to pull us into the I/P thrash. It frankly feels exploitative.........

Trying to link Oakland to the I/P situation strikes me as an effort to get us to collectively take sides on that, regardless of whatever divisiveness may occur locally here as a consequence. We need more divisiveness like we need more rock-throwers and more tear-gas. Please don't do it."

Don't beg G2geek: they will do it as long as they can. It's what they do.

Bomb A Little...Get a UNESCO Membership

After this weekend's bombings, the complicit UN still gives 'em a seat on UNESCO.

The United States, Canada and Germany voted against Palestinian membership. Brazil, Russia, China, India, South Africa and France voted in favour. Britain abstained. Huge cheers went up in Unesco after delegates voted to approve the membership Monday. One shouted "Long Live Palestine!" in French.

Maybe if they hit Tel Aviv next time, the UN will offer them the UN presidency.

UPDATE:

YES!!!!! The US DOES HAVE A BACKBONE!!!!

US cuts off $60M UNESCO funding over Palestinian vote

Washington follows through on threat to halt financial support to UN's Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization if it grants PA full-member status. UN Chief Ban warns of further fiscal ramifications.

Huff Post Links to Nazi Sites

Huffington Post Monitor does a great job keeping the world informed about the left/progressive blog Huffington Post's regular antisemitic activities. Truth be told, Huff Post is even worse than dKos if you can imagine that. So it's no surprise when we find that the the Huff actually links to Stormfront!

Progressives and Nazis! What a great alliance. Anybody surprised?

How Far Will the Left Go?

To what depths will the left go to allow antisemitism to go unchecked? Consider darling of the left, Professor Ilan Pappe. Pappe recently tetsified on behalf of antisemite Raed Salah who is being banned from England. Salah has said:

“We have never allowed ourselves, and listen well, we have never allowed ourselves to knead the bread for the breaking of the fast during the blessed month of Ramadan with the blood the children. And if someone wants a wider explanation, you should ask what used to happen to some of the children of Europe, whose blood would be mixed in the dough of the holy bread. God Almighty, is this religion? Is this what God wants? God will confront you for what you are doing.”

The old blood libel as sure as night follows day.

Pappe says:

" the Appellant did not invoke the blood libel in this or any other speech, and made a clear distinction between Jews as a race and the actions of Israeli officials. The words used by the Appellant on this occasion did not amount to blood libel because he did not refer to Jewish bread; the message of the address was not anti-Semitic or even anti-Zionist, but directed to the violation of Muslim rights in Jerusalem."

As Lucy Lips at Harry's Place says:

"I have two questions.

1. Why is Ilan Pappe, a well-known Israeli anti-Zionist, defending medieval anti-Semitism by resorting to a critical analysis of a text that not even an unlettered schoolchild would believe?

2. Who the hell do these fucking people think they’re kidding anymore?"

Good question, Lucy. And maybe I can ask what scum will dare use Pappe as a credible source after this?

Fair's fair, right?

Bound to happen. There's a protest in Jerusalem...(oh boy a protest)...and we know how progressives and the left LOVE protests. But, uh-oh. It might NOT be one they can get behind.

"J'lem protest: Free Jewish security prisoners

In backdrop of Shalit deal, some 60 people including National Union MK, terror victims' relatives gather outside home of justice minister demanding Jewish prisoners who killed Arabs be pardoned

Yair Altman

Published: 10.27.11, 23:46

Some 60 people demonstrated outside the home of Justice Minister Yaakov Ne'eman Thursday demanding the release of Jewish security prisoners who hurt Arabs. Among the protesters were relatives of terror victims including those killed by prisoners released as part of the Shalit deal......"

Not likely to happen of course but hey, they have a right to protest. Right?

Bizzaro OWS World

You know, I have nothing against OWS, after all, I did my share of protesting back in the 60's and I remember some pretty bizarre stuff (disclaimer....some of it may or may not have really happened depending on what I may have ingested.) But I don't remember any antisemitism. I don't remember any anti-Israel BDS crap and I don't remember this Bizarre chant/repeating things said by someone with a megaphone. Childish? Borglike? Don't know but it creeps me out.

Of course I don't find it odd to see hate of Israel, BDS crap and good old fashioned antisemitism at OWS events. The left is s a big tent with an ample share of haters and racists especially targeting Israel and Jews as we show here at this blog all the time. It's not a tent I would like to be part of until it purges those awful elements. But it can't; they are a large part of its constituency. And every vote counts, right? (hat tip EoZ)

This is Racist

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

One would have to be an absolute dunce not to recognize this as anti-Semitic.

One would have to be either a complete moron or moral pygmy not to see that the above symbol is racist toward Jews.

It is a Star of David comprised of corporate logos.

Greedy Jewish and Corporate.

Anyone who does not understand that the above symbol is racist to the core is an idiot, a buffoon, a moron.

If you own a website in which you front page this symbol than you are projecting hatred toward Jews and are, in fact, a racist.

If you participate on a website in which the above symbol is displayed than you are complicit in projecting hatred toward Jews.

The left is dead to me and a big part of the reason for that is because of the moral blindness of the progressive left which fails to see that defaming Israel is defaming the Jews and is morally repugnant because it leads to violence.

The Fogels were murdered, and their 3 month old baby daughter beheaded by savages, not because they did anything wrong, not because they stole anyone's land. They were murdered simply because they are Jewish and if you display a symbol such as the one above you are helping to promote a climate of hatred against the Jewish people.

This is not liberal.

This is not progressive.

This is pure Archie Bunker territory.

It is hatred.

You guys may not see a whole lot of me over the next few days as I have an old college buddy coming into town, plus we have our housewarming.

Doodad, I am hoping that you will pick up a little of the slack, as I am out. But, needless to say, do as you will, my friend.

Also, I need to tell you guys that it is no longer possible to comment as "anonymous" on this blog. The reason for that is because it encourages true nastiness, which I simply have no need to put up with.  And when I say "true nastiness" I do not mean any comments of a political nature.

Most of the anonymi were just fine... anonymouses?...  but some were becoming cruel and ugly.

Anyways, I will be in and out as my schedule allows.

Cheers!

Oh, and by the way, check out Bitchin' Kitchen.

Nadia G. Fucking Rocks.

I'm telling ya, were it not for the fact that the left is OK with anti-Zionism and anti-Jewish racism, which puts Jews in actual physical danger,  I would probably be blogging about food... or, maybe, baseball.

Buster Posey is, after all, returning next season.

Palestinians Attack Israel

Calm shattered in south as Grad rocket lands near Ashdod

According to Magen David Adom, several people suffered shock in first rocket attack from Gaza since Shalit release. A Color Red siren was heard in several communities including Ashdod, Kiryat Malachi, Ness Ziona and Rehovot, where a siren was heard for the first time

Year after year, decade after decade, and century upon century, the Arabs of the Middle East perpetually attack their Jewish neighbors.

Only two things have changed. The first, of course, is that now the Jews have the means for self-defense and retaliation. And thank God for that!

The second thing that has changed is that the international left has sided with the Arabs against the Jews in this never ending conflict, which is why they could hardly care less about the constant violence aimed at Jews who live in the Middle East.

American Nazi Party Supports the OWS

Racial Comrades: I am going to address the issue of this "Occupy Wall Street" fervor that has been sweeping the land like a breath of cleansing air!

THE NATIVES ARE GETTING RESTLESS, AND ZOG FEARS IT MIGHT HAVE A POPULAR UPRISING ON ITS HANDS - finally!

"Racial Comrades"?

In any case, the American Nazi Party has endorsed the Occupy Wall Street nonsense.

Why does this seem entirely fitting?

Progressive-Left Racism

One of the features of progressive-left racism is that when called out for it they almost always suggest that there is some nefarious alternative motive in doing so. In other words, if a "progressive" also happens to be a racist, or an anti-Semite, and someone calls that racist out as a racist the accuser then gets accused of really wanting to keep down poor people or to abuse Palestinians or whatever else.

The progressive-left, which is actually considerably more racist than is the American right-wing, seems entirely incapable of looking at itself in the mirror. It harbors anti-Semites as part of the anti-Zionist movement which it has accepted as part of its constituency. And it condescends, in an entirely racist and imperial fashion, to Muslims and Arabs whom they tend to treat like children.

In this way the progressive movement exhibits prejudice toward both Muslims and Jews. Progressive "Islamophobia" takes the form of condescension while progressive anti-Semitism generally gets shrouded under the language of anti-Zionism, which in itself is a racist movement. The reason that anti-Zionism is racist is because it rejects for the Jews what it pretty much accepts for everyone else, i.e., self-determination and self-defense.

It seems to me that at this point Jewish people need simply to stop supporting a political movement that stands directly in opposition to our own well-being. I know that I am banging this drum pretty hard, but it remains the case that the progressive movement, and the activist base of the Democratic Party, has betrayed the Jewish people and should therefore be rejected by the Jewish people.

There are no other people on the entire planet that would support a political movement that acts directly in opposition to its own well-being and the progressive movement does, in fact, act directly in opposition to the well-being of Jewish people. We see this daily. Whether it is the direct racism of someone who would feature a corrupted Star of David on her website, or if it is the more regular response of simply ignoring that overt racism, the progressive movement simply does not stand in our corner.

Daily Kos represents proof positive of this assertion. On a daily basis within progressive-left venues such as Daily Kos, Jewish people are subject to constant abuse if they dare to actually stand up for the Jewish state which is perpetually slandered, defamed, and demeaned in such venues. What's worse, really, is that Jewish kids at university are subject to abuse from their progressive-left peers who have a tendency to swallow the "Palestinian narrative" of total victimhood whole.

This being the case, we must move on.

This being the case, we have no choice but to stand the fuck up and say, "NO."

By all accounts, although somewhat under the radar, this is already happening. The polling data, as I have recently discussed, shows Jews abandoning the Democratic Party. One thing that me and the anti-Semites presumably have in common is that we are both happy with this development. The anti-Semites are happy because they do not want us around to begin with. I am happy because it shows me that Jewish people are finally coming to their senses.

Barack Obama has, unfortunately, not been a good president and the progressive movement is hostile to the Jewish people.

If this is still not obvious than it is only because the reader is reading with his or her eyes entirely shut.

As an old friend of mine used to like to say, Wake the Fuck Up.

That is all.

Yay.

What can I say?

I just love this and it makes me happy.

Think Like A Palestinian Propagandist

One of the most common things we see in all this debate is how the Progressive left is so willing to engage in perfect belief in Palestinian propaganda memes: apartheid, concentration camps, ethnic cleansing, etc. Pallywood? They eat it up. Never mind the proof offered to critical eyes.

It will be interesting to see how they will react to this latest little bit of Palestinian BS, especially when it involves the EVIL JEW..... Avigdor Lieberman.

Lieberman said this:

"If there is one obstacle that should be removed immediately, it is [Abbas]," he said. "If he were to return the keys and resign, it would not be a threat, but a blessing."

"The only thing that interests Abbas is to inscribe himself in the history books as he who brought about the Palestinian state and the reconciliation with Hamas," Lieberman added. "Anyone who succeeds him would be better for Israel. If Abu Mazen goes, there would be a chance to reignite the peace process."

Return the keys and resign. Perfectly reasonable position to take and possibly correct. But consider who said it and you know there will be trouble. And trouble there is. The Palestinians have said Lieberman is trying to get Abbas killed.

"In the name of the Palestinian Authority, we condemn the statements made by Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, which carry explicit incitement against President Mahmoud Abbas," the letter read, adding: "We consider the comments to be a direct threat against a natural partner for peace."

"The statements do not serve the peace process between the sides and we see them as an explicit call to kill president Abbas," a-Sheikh said, adding that Lieberman's attack could be "seen as a green light that could be taken advantage by extremists."

Damn evil Jews talking in code again!

The problem is, that is not what is happening. Maybe in Palestinian culture suggesting someone resign is code for extremists to kill him, but not in Israel. Abbas has threatened to resign (return the keys) many times as a threat. Lieberman is simply calling his bluff. This isn't rocket science. Unless you are a Palestinian politician or a useful idiot.

Anti-Semitic Kossack Slams Jews

Jewish Law for a Jewish State

i never understood why some people claiming to believe in a faith work so hard to avoid obeying the teachings they find most difficult to live out...They use Holy Scripture to justify the political positions they hold which are contrary to the teachings of their faith. Nevertheless, in their own minds, they alone are the just, the pure, the most holy, the good; everyone else is beneath them, deserving only of their contempt. i wonder on what basis they believe this about themselves?

This is what we find on the progressive-left.

It is pure hatred and nothing else.

This guy is telling the world that Jews look down upon others with contempt when the obvious truth of the matter is that this person is looking down upon us with contempt and has 7 recommendations of his hate-filled sentiments.

Why in this world would Jews want to support a political movement in which the above is acceptable and recommended?

It makes no sense and we need to free ourselves from the progressive movement, precisely because that movement absolutely does not have our best interests at heart.

Quite the contrary, I am afraid.

Progressive-Left RIP

The contemporary left is dead. It is gone. Say, "bye-bye."

The contemporary progressive-left trashed the concept of universal human rights and betrayed Jews, women, and Gays, in the process. The movement has, thus, given up the ghost and its very reason to be.

This is the proverbial 800 pound gorilla in the living room. What virtually no one discusses is the fairly obvious fact that the ideal of universal human rights, which resides at the very heart of progressive thinking, is entirely incompatible with ideological multiculturalism which views all cultures, societies, countries as morally equivalent.

{The only exceptions are the US and Israel, which tend to be thought of as morally inferior.}

The contemporary left had an unspoken choice to make between supporting Gays, Jews, and women or supporting the multicultural ideal which derived from the New Left of the 1960s. This choice was made organically by millions of people, but it was definitely made.

The left chose to throw us under the bus.

Jews in the Middle East have been under siege for almost one hundred years. It was in the 1920s that the Arabs launched the Long War against us and that war goes on to this day. The only thing that has really changed is that the western left has chosen to side with the Arabs. The western left, as a group, as a political movement, has also decided to stand with the Islamists against Gay people, who are hung from cranes in Iran, and to side with Islamists against women, who suffer gender apartheid throughout the Muslim world.

Among the reasons that the left made the choice that it has made is because of the confluence of Arab political efforts in the west with post-colonial and post-structuralist theories in the academe. As Saudi Arabia endowed chairs in American universities for Middle East studies, the academia itself relativized both morality and truth. Post-colonial theory relativized morality through suggesting that Muslim and Arab violence against Jews in the Middle East was a matter of "resistance" to western imperialism.

What they failed to consider, of course, was the 1,400 year history of Jewish dhimmitude in the Arab world. That, in itself, is fairly mind-boggling. 1,400 years of Jewish second and third class citizenship just gets erased because it doesn't fit the post-colonial model.

They relativized truth through post-structuralist theory (post-modernity) which suggested that there is no such thing as truth and that scientific and scholarly discourse is really all about maintaining a hegemonic and reactionary global political system.

It was for this reason that someone like Ilan Pappe could say:

Indeed the struggle is about ideology, not about facts. Who knows what facts are? We try to convince as many people as we can that our interpretation of the facts is the correct one, and we do it because of ideological reasons, not because we are truthseekers.

The truth is that the Jews of the Middle East have been under almost constant attack since the Mufti cried to the throngs that the Jews were attacking the Al Aqsa mosque in the 1920s. They were rioting then, and throwing rocks, just as they are rioting now, and throwing rocks.

Our imperative today is to simply understand who our friends are and who they are not.

The progressive-left is not.

Canada Gives Genocidal Palestinian the Boot

Palestinian envoy is asked to leave Ottawa after controversial tweet

Controversial? I suppose that is true if you consider calling for murder to be merely "controversial."

The diplomatic cold shoulder was sparked when Ms. Sobeh Ali took to Twitter this month to circulate a link to a video posted on YouTube, telling her followers on the social-media message system to “check this video out.”

The video shows a Palestinian girl, in tears and shouting with passion, reciting a poem in Arabic, “I am Palestinian.” The English subtitles on the video include a passage where millions are called “to a war that raze the injustice and oppression and destroy the Jews.”

Canada is probably one of the best friends that the Jewish state, and the Jewish people, have in the world.

The Big Lie

Barry Rubin remains one of my all-time favorite pundits on the I-P question.

The reason for that is because he has a way of getting directly to the heart of the matter.

Rubin writes:

IF THERE was a last straw for me regarding what was once the English-speaking world’s greatest newspaper, it is this New York Times editorial of October 19, 2011:

“One has to ask: If Mr. Netanyahu can negotiate with Hamas – which shoots rockets at Israel, refuses to recognize Israel’s existence and, on Tuesday, vowed to take even more hostages – why won’t he negotiate seriously with the Palestinian Authority, which Israel relies on to help keep the peace in the West Bank.”

What has one thing have to do with the other? Israel isn’t negotiating with Hamas on a political level but to save the life of a young Israeli who has been in horrible captivity for five years.

But what’s really disturbing here is the idea that it is Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who have been refusing to negotiate with the Palestinian Authority rather than the other way around.

Funnily enough, within hours of this editorial we have the ultimate Palestinian “moderate,” Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, saying:“We want to see an end to the Israeli occupation that began in 1967. We want the Palestinian people to live with dignity.”

Fayyad went on to explain that while the Palestinians are committed to resolving the conflict, “the conditions are not right to resume talks.”

In other words, even when the Palestinian prime minister openly rejects talks and even after dozens of previous rejections by him and Palestinian “President” Mahmoud Abbas, and dozens of documented acceptances of negotiations by Netanyahu and Israel, the lie that Israel doesn’t want to negotiate and the Palestinian Authority does is repeated.

Obviously, this is not a misunderstanding.

Yup.

The Palestinians refuse negotiations and the progressive-left blames the Jews.

Shocking, I know.

It Was Cheaper To Kill Jews Back Then

As they reintegrate into their societies we hear from the released terrorists. This latest one is a real dilly.

Released prisoner praises Hamas for kidnapping Schalit

By KHALED ABU TOAMEH 10/23/2011 01:09

Islamic Jihad member brags of details of stabbing spree, says "path of resistance" the only way to free Palestinian prisoners.

A Palestinian terrorist who was released in last week’s prisoner-exchange agreement with Hamas boasted over the weekend that “it used to cost me only NIS 3 to kill a Jew.”

Khaled Juaidi, a member of Islamic Jihad who spent 25 years in prison for murdering three Jews, told the Hamas-affiliated newspaper Falasteen Al-An: “I used to buy a knife or dagger for a NIS 1.5 and then pay another NIS 1.5 to get to the area to carry out the operation.

Juaidi was convicted of stabbing to death three Jews in different parts of the Gaza Strip in 1986.

His knifing sprees triggered a wave of stabbings of Jews in the Palestinian territories and Israel back then. His supporters refer to him as the man who sparked the “revolution of knives” against Jews....."

As disgusting as this pig is it's good these scum are talking out, letting the whole world know how perverse they are and how perverse are those who worship them and praise their deeds. Yes, world, this is what Jews face in Israel everyday. Think about that next time you are tempted to support these so called resistance fighters. Pray they never come to your country and get mad at you.

This is the "Arab Spring"

Egyptian sentenced to 3 years for insulting Islam in his Facebook postings

CAIRO — Egypt’s state media says a Cairo court has sentenced a man to three years in prison for postings on Facebook deemed to be inciting sectarianism and in contempt of Islam.

The MENA state news agency said Saturday a the misdemeanor court found Ayman Mansour had intentionally mocked Islam and used “outrageous and scurrilous” language in describing the religion’s holy book, the Quran, and its prophet and believers.

The court said freedom of belief doesn’t excuse contempt that may offend believers and “subject the regime and the country’s security to serious dangers.”

Egypt is grappling with an increasingly assertive ultraconservative Islamist trend, and recent clashes between the military police and Coptic Christians have heightened fears of increasing sectarian strife.

One of the things that I found most appalling about the western left's response to the Arab riots and uprisings, which they ironically call "the Arab Spring," was the willful naivete.

People were screaming from the hillsides that democracy was on the march in the Arab and Muslim world.

Very early on I took a wait and see approach to the question and I still maintain a wait and see approach.

Unfortunately, however, what I am seeing does not look a whole lot like democracy.

They even tend to think of the Muslim Brotherhood, which is a genocidal organization and the father of Hamas, as a "moderate" organization.  How foolish is this?  The Muslim Brotherhood, as anyone who knows anything about the history of the organization can tell you, has a lineage that goes, in part, to Nazi Germany.

And, yet, here we have "liberals" and "progressives" telling the world how wonderful it is that the Egyptians have risen up to throw off their shackles and proclaim their freedom.

Uh-huh.

I'll believe in Egyptian democracy when I see it.

Meanwhile, on the left, the only actual democracy in that part of the world, Israel, gets perpetually defamed as a racist, colonialist, imperialist, apartheid, racist country and those of us who support Israel get defamed, sometimes directly and sometimes by implication, as racist, colonialist, imperialist, apartheid, racist people.

It's just grotesque, really.

But, Karma, It's Just Anecdotal Evidence!

I sometimes get criticized for making my case with anecdotal evidence as if, somehow, anecdotal evidence is not evidence.

This is not sociology. This is not academic work. All that is happening here is that me and Doodad and some of our friends our discussing the anti-Semitic anti-Zionist trend on the progressive-left.

I, as the owner of this blog, am advocating that Jewish people, and people who care about Israel, should Sanction, Divest from, and Boycott (SDB!) the progressive-left, if not the Democratic Party.

It is more than clear that the left is hostile territory to Jews who care about their fellow Jews and who care about Israel. That is unquestionably the case. Jewish people who care about their fellow Jews in Israel are made to feel like troublemakers and racists.

All I am trying to do is help break through the hard shell of progressive-left denial and indifference and to help free Jews from their slavish devotion to a political movement that is entirely indifferent to our well-being.

In some measure this is why the Democratic Party is bleeding it's Jews.

2008: 72% were Democrats and 20% were Republicans. (Pew)

2010: 60% were Democrats and 33% were Republicans. (Pew)

2011: 45% are Democrats and 38% are Republicans. (AJC)

And for that I am grateful.

This is the Progressive-Left

Accusing Jews of being Nazis is one of the more odious tactics on the left to slam Jews and the Jewish state. It means taking the worst crime that has ever been perpetrated against a people and using it as a weapon against those very same people.

I lost my father's side of the family in the Holocaust and now the left is telling us that we are Nazis. It is precisely this kind of thing that always results in violence against us.

By the way, can you possibly imagine using the genocide of the Native Americans as a club against them?

Of course not, but it's OK to use the Holocaust as a weapon against Jews because they tell one another that we are mean to the Palestinians.

Every generation they tell one another how horrible we are.

The only difference between this generation and the previous one is that now, for the most part, we are getting it from the left rather than the right.

This one is essentially the blood libel. Throughout the Middle Ages Jews were accused of having it in for Christian children, just as we are now accused of having it in for Palestinian children.

They seem to think that Jews just like to kill children.

In any case, this is material that comes out of the progressive-left.

These people are not your friends.

{Meanwhile, Gilad Shalit looks like he just stepped out of Auschwitz.}

Anonymous Has Some Words:

Anonymous said...

Antisemitism is an inconvenient truth for the left, doesn't fit into their worldview or victim profile- causes cognitive dissonance for them...uncomfortable, so they ignore it or discount it as some right wing conspiracy...any charge of anti-semitism is suspect now, as evidence of right wing allegiance. trouble is, the right are the only ones monitoring antisemitism.

October 20, 2011 7:40 PM

Despite the grammar, our anonymous friend is correct.

It is only the right monitoring anti-Semitism, because the left has convinced itself that the Jewish state is no longer worthy of their support.

The problem is not that the left is anti-Semitic. It isn't. The problem is that the left has no clue whatsoever to do about the conflict, within their own ranks, between Jewish people and anti-Semitic anti-Zionists.

That's the problem.

Hey Assaf, This is Hamas:

Deputy Speaker of Hamas Parliament Ahmed Bahr Calls for, "Killing of Apes & Pigs" (Jews)

Allah Akbar! The commentators said with regard to this blessed verse that Allah would impose the nation of Muhammad upon the Jews until the Day of Judgment, and when they would be defeated and Allah would transform them, just as they transformed them (into apes and pigs) when they disobeyed him. That is why Allah imposed the nation of Muhammad and the Jihad-waging Palestinian people, upon those siblings of apes and pigs, until we sweep them out of our land and holy places.

Yet Assaf, a Jewish Israeli, thinks that Hamas, a genocidal anti-Semitic organization, represents a partner for peace.

It just staggers the imagination that anyone could be quite this obtuse.

By the way, have I mentioned recently that the Day of the Dhimmi is Done?

No?

Well, let me tell ya, the Day of the Dhimmi is most certainly Done.

"impose the nation of Muhammad upon the Jews"?

Yup, we had 1,400 years of that kinda fun, Assaf.

1,400 years.

But not no more.

The Jews are a free people.

Thanks.

The Essential Immorality of the Jews

One of the things that we need to face going forward is the fact that the progressive movement, as a group, thinks that the Jews are essentially immoral.

There is no other conclusion that one can possibly draw other than that progressives believe the Jewish people to be comprised of moral pygmies. It is the only possible conclusion given the fact that the left tends to view the Jewish state as a racist, colonialist, imperialist, endeavor heavily invested in gobbling down Palestinian children for lunch.

I am perpetually amazed at how ideology and group-think prevents people from drawing the obvious conclusions inherent in their own statements. For example, if Israel is even one-eighth as horrible as so many progressives claim that it is... as they echo the blood libel of the Middle Ages... what does that say about Jews, in general?

If Israel is out there torturing innocent Palestinian babies purely for the fun of it (I exaggerate just a tad... but only just a tad) then what must we conclude about Israel's Jewish supporters in the diaspora?

It can only mean that Jews are rotten human beings who, purely for our own self-interest, support a malignant country and a malignant nation. That is precisely the implication of progressive defamation of the Jewish state.

It means that you, if you care about Israel, and the well-being of the Jewish people, are something akin to a monster. This is what they are telling you on a daily basis, even as you continue to support progressive causes and progressive venues and progressive organizations.

We bow and scrape before an ideological / political movement that holds us in contempt. Even the good guys, or nice ladies, who never say a negative word about the Jews, still support venues that demonize the Jewish state continually, thus putting Jews in actual physical danger.

Why did those Palestinian kids chop the head off of a 3 month old baby Jewish girl?

Why?

Either the Fogels deserved it or they did not. I would venture to say without the slightest hesitation that they most certainly did not. Yet when western progressives constantly portray Israel in the very worst light possible, and when they portray these "settlers" in Judea as the worst human beings in the world, it helps create an atmosphere in which violence against Jews becomes justified in the mind of liberals who see that violence as morally righteous "resistance."

This despite the fact that we have lived precisely with that same anti-Jewish violence for century after century in the Middle East, long, long before the country of Israel even existed.

What I would suggest is that we have absolutely got to stop thinking in the routine categories with which we have grown accustomed, precisely because those categories (categories of Jewish / Israeli guilt) are not only false, but very much in opposition to the well-being of the Jewish people.

The situation is growing more and more grim and well-meaning Jewish liberals are not very well helping matters. The reason for that is because most Jewish liberals, including myself until fairly recently, have yet to think our way out of the box of Palestinian Arab propaganda concerning us.

They have been telling us for at least 1,400 years what horrible human beings we are to such an extent that we wonder if they are not right.

It is what I once called The Palestinian Colonization of the Jewish Mind and what Kenneth Levin calls The Oslo Syndrome: Delusions of a People Under Seige.

It is the idea that we are basically wrong and the Arabs (and their progressive allies) are basically right and what we need to do is figure out just what hoop we must jump through in order to make the Arabs and the Palestinians happy.

If only we would do this, that, or the other. If only all the Jews in Israel would line up holding hands, while jumping up and down on one foot while facing Mecca, then there would be peace.

Never mind that the Arabs have never accepted a Palestinian state in peace next to the Jewish one and still do not, despite the imminent bid for Palestinian statehood.

{I am not opposed to the UN bid, by the way. I am actually fairly ambivalent about it and consider it much ado about little. Not much ado about nothing, certainly, but much ado about little... probably... perhaps!}

In my opinion, however, we need to unequivocally stand up for ourselves.

So long as we tend to think of ourselves as basically guilty, the Palestinians and their progressive allies will be more than happy to concur and spread the malicious word.

The truth is that the Palestinian people are responsible for their own fate. They could have accepted a state for themselves in '37 and '47 and '67 and 2000 and 2008, yet they refused.

And that is not the fault of the Jewish people, nor the Israelis.

The left holds us in contempt.

I say that we spit it right back at them.

Are Jews Abandoning the Democratic Party?

Recent polling seems to indicate that this is the case. If so, it is actually happening considerably faster than I thought it would.

On the right side of this blog is a graph that shows:

Party Affiliation by Religion - Long Term Trend - Pew Research Center (2010)

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

This Pew poll showed that between 2008 and 2010 Jewish membership in the Democratic Party dropped from 72 percent to 60 percent and that Jewish membership in the Republican Party increased from 20 percent to 33 percent.

This means, depending upon the accuracy of these numbers... and Pew is very well respected... that the ratio of Jewish Democrats to Jewish Republicans went from well over 3 to 1 to just under 2 to 1 since Barack Obama took office.

I understand that these numbers are not etched in stone, but they definitely indicate movement.

Something is happening, for sure.

But let's toss something else into the mix. How about the 2011 American Jewish Committee's (AJC) Annual Survey of American Jewish Opinion?

What they report is that 45 percent of American Jews consider themselves to be Democrats and 38 percent of American Jews consider themselves to be Republican.

45 to 38?

Really?

Holy Fucking Mackerel!  Really?

Jewish support for the Democratic Party is in free fall.

2008: 72% Democrats and 20% Republicans.

2010: 60% Democrats and 33% Republicans.

2011: 45% Democrats and 38% Republicans.

According to Pew and the AJC we are seeing a drop in Democratic Party support from well over 3 to 1, in 2008, to just under 2 to 1 in 2010, to something approaching equity with the Republican Party in 2011.

I have a gentleman's wager with Volleyboy1 concerning the Jewish vote for Barack in 2012.

Barack Obama received something near 80 percent of our vote in 2008.  I voted for the guy, myself, and we cheered in my old San Francisco apartment when the returns came in.

My bet is that Barack Obama will receive under 65 percent of the Jewish vote in 2012 and Volley bets that Obama will get 75 percent or above.

We shall see.

Takers?

Takers?

AB CD EF BLAM!!!!!!!

First day out of prison, a terrorist needs some work. How about motivational speaker for Gaza school children? Tell me you didn't see this coming.

"Would-be bomber tells Gaza kids to be like her

Female terrorist released in Shalit swap encourages Gaza children to take up terror, expresses hope some of them will become martyrs; Wafa a-Biss detained in 2005 en route to exploding in Israeli hospital

A would-be Palestinian suicide bomber freed by Israel in the prisoner swap for soldier Gilad Shalit told cheering schoolchildren in the Gaza Strip the day after her release on Wednesday she hoped they would follow her example.

"I hope you will walk the same path we took and God willing, we will see some of you as martyrs," Wafa al-Biss told dozens of children who came to her home in the northern Gaza Strip."

Cheering children? In what universe are such things acceptable? How will there ever be peace with people like these? What future do these children have?

And most of all will progressives even DISCUSS this kind of thing; condemn it to high hell? Not likely. No, they are likely to tell us to not dare suggest Palestinians abuse their children even in light of this most blatant, murderous abuse of their young minds.

"After she spoke, the children cheered and waved Palestinian flags and chanted: "We will give souls and blood to redeem the prisoners. We will give souls and blood for you, Palestine."

Souls and blood indeed.

Arik Einstein to Gilad

A Tip 'O the Kippa to Doodad.

The lyrics hardly matter.

This is beautiful stuff.

I just wish that we had more friends who cared.

I Like this Gilad Comment:

Welcome HOME Gilad Shallit!

I wish with all my heart I could hug this young brave man. Not only I, but thousands of Christians across the world have prayed diligently for his release DAILY from the moment he was kidnapped. When I found out last Friday I cried uncontrollably. May he be healed fast, have a great reunion with his precious family and loved ones, marry a wonderful girl, get on with his life, and have a truly fulfilling future! I wish with all my heart I could meet him face-to-face! We are PROUD of you, Gilad! And SO THANKFUl to HaShem!

Merla Watson, Abbotsford, BC - Can (10.18.11)

Gilad (Updated)

Today is an important day.

Jewish people all over the world are praying that Gilad will be home today.

I join those prayers.

We all do.

Update:

Gilad is home!

This is a pretty remarkable and wonderful moment.

After 5 years in captivity they actually released the guy alive. Sure, he is pale (because he has not seen the sun in five years) and skinny (because they starved him), but he is alive.

I do not know quite what to make of this, exactly, but it is important.

Gilad is home.

"The Simple Truth"

Barry Rubin has the simple truth, so let's take a gander:

No matter what the Palestinian Authority is offered – money, concessions and even steps toward statehood– the response is always “no.” Media, academic “experts” and governments seem to find this amazing phenomenon very hard to understand. The answer is simple, but a lot of the people paid to deal with this stuff don’t get it. So let me elucidate: The Palestinian Authority (PA) wants everything.

The PA wants an independent state on all the West Bank, Gaza Strip and east Jerusalem with no restrictions, no recognition of Israel as a Jewish state, no serious security guarantees, no limits on militarization, no agreement that this means an end to the conflict, no insistence that Palestinian refugees be resettled in the state of Palestine, and nothing to prevent them from pursuing a second stage of wiping Israel off the map entirely.

What is most sickening about the non-existent "peace process" is that Israel keeps agreeing to various concessions and to two-states for two peoples under a negotiated settlement, the Palestinians always say "no," and then western liberals turn around and blame us for the problem.

They blame Israeli Jews for the behavior of Arabs and they blame diaspora Jews for supporting Israeli Jews.

The Jews of the Middle East just spent the last 1,400 hundred years living under the boot of Muslim imperialism and now, when they agree to a Palestinian state on their land, and the Palestinians say "NO," as they always do, the progressive-left blames the Jews and does so in the most horrendous terms possible.

Apartheid?

Ethnic Cleansing?

Genocide?

Really?

Every single generation the Jews are told how horrific we are. In this generation the people calling us out for our alleged immorality, our alleged crimes, are "progressives" who actually fancy themselves anti-racists.

How's that for the very height of irony?

Rubin continues:

There will be no peace process, no Palestinian state. No “progress” will be made. You can read this article in two or three years and it will still be completely up to date. If you don’t understand the points made above you simply cannot understand the Middle East. There will be thousands of emails, hundreds of articles, scores of expensive conferences, dozens of foundation grants and tens of peace initiatives that are all meaningless, because they are based on false premises.

This is not left-wing or right-wing but merely an explanation as to why all the schemes and theories of those who do not see these facts never actually take wing. It may not be politically correct, but it is most definitely factually correct.

You should go and give that article a nice, long, slow read, because the thing is, Rubin is right.

There will be no peace any time soon because the Arabs want victory, not a state for the Palestinians. Furthermore, the Palestinians know that however intransigent they remain and however much they promote violence and hatred toward Jews, they will still get financial support from western governments and propaganda support from the western left in their ongoing efforts to murder the Jews of the Middle East.

And we're supposed to make Israel do some little dance so that there will be peace?

I feel bad for liberal-left peace-processing Jews because they continue to think that if only Israel would do this, that, or the other, then there will be peace.

They still seem to think that there must be some magic key that will get the Palestinians to finally accept a state for themselves in peace next to the Jewish one.

They honestly want us to believe that if only Israel ethnically cleanses hundreds of thousands of Jews out of Judea, then the Palestinians, whose forbears supported the Nazis, no less, will be persuaded to accept their freedom and autonomy.  They've even accepted the notion that after 1,400 years of dhimmitude... after 1,400 years of getting our collective ass kicked... that the Arabs are the victims.

Jews who think like this suffer from the Palestinian colonization of the Jewish mind.

Meanwhile we are constantly on our hands and knees practically begging the Palestinians to accept their freedom and potential for prosperity.

The irony is just so thick that it's hard not to laugh, actually.

Well, I have to say, none of us are crazy about the status quo, but it can continue on and on and on into the future if the Palestinians continue refusing to end the conflict, but it is they who will do most of the suffering. It is their children who will be raised mainly in poverty and within an atmosphere of genocidal Jew hatred.

Meanwhile Israel will continue cranking out life saving medical procedures and devices, high tech computer programs and hardware, and sending Natalie Portmans out into the world to do whatever the hell it is that she does.

Cheers!

When karmafish complains about anti-Arab or anti-Muslim racism, it has a very similar ring to it.

It is no surprise that right-wingers like karmafish, Bill Kristol, and others are desperately trying to discredit protests like occupy wall street. They realize that these protests have the potential to galvanize opposition to their extreme right-wing agenda.

October 16, 2011 12:50 PM

I like it when political opponents come in to have their say and I like to discuss what they are claiming, piece by piece:

When Meir Kahane would speak on college campuses, he would state that he does not hate Arabs and that he has much respect for Arabs.

When karmafish complains about anti-Arab or anti-Muslim racism, it has a very similar ring to it.

A similar ring? That is not much of an argument, I am afraid. If you wish to honestly engage than you must do better than that. As it is, by trying to associate me with Kahane, you are transparently trying to turn me into object of hatred.

Meir Kahane is, after all, an object of hatred on the left. They hate Kahane. They hate Sharon. They hate Netanyahu.  They hate Lieberman.  They hate Begin. And, needless to say, they loath Jabotinsky, which is kinda where it started.

On the American Left they hate Hannity and Limbaugh and all the rest of them.

What is with all this hatred?

What is with the conjuring up of all these demons?

Speaking for myself, I hate no major figures in Israeli or Jewish history. I do not hate Kahane and I do not hate Sharon, nor Begin, nor Netanyahu, nor Lieberman, nor Jabotinsky. I do not hate the right-wing, period, nor do I hate the Histadrut, Labour, or Meretz.

I thus also find no hatred in my heart for the left. What I feel in my heart for the left is just sadness.

It is no surprise that right-wingers like karmafish, Bill Kristol, and others are desperately trying to discredit protests like occupy wall street.

This is a typical mistake of my critics. They sometimes confuse me with the right. This is not surprising given that I am a liberal critic of the left on matters I-P. If you are going to criticize the left then people will necessarily assume that you are on the right.

But, left and right are a matter of issues. Where you stand on the issues is where you stand on the political spectrum. Mr. Anonymous, however, does not seem to care about anything that we would normally associate with truth. He cares about politics and defeating his political enemies. It is for that reason that he calls me a "right-winger."

Because the term "right-winger" (or right or conservative or Republican) is simply synonymous with "enemy," or "bad person," or "infidel,"or "heretic," or "outlander," someone to spit hatred at and dismiss.  One of those outlandish people.

This is the crudest form of politics possible.

They realize that these protests have the potential to galvanize opposition to their extreme right-wing agenda.

Our extreme right-wing agenda?

Mine and Bill Kristol's?

What nonsense.  In truth, what this guy is telling me is that as a liberal he thinks that my standing up for Israel represents the "extreme right-wing."

So, merely being pro-Israel is "extreme right wing" in the minds of very many "progressives"?

I seeeeee.

But that is pretty much the message that I want my readership to understand, so I thank this person.

Much of the progressive-left hates Israel.

Period.

They think that standing up for the Jewish people or the Jewish state makes one a bad person.

{And if they hate Israel then what can they honestly think of the Jews?}

It is time to move on, my friends.

It is long time past to move on.

IDF's Hannibal Protocol.

You know, I am for the deal. Wiser people than I have made the choice. They tell me it was this way or no way and despite my horror I believe them. But it sure hurts to learn that it may lead to this.

"The strategic weapon, the "Judgment Day Weapon" that Hamas wants to acquire, is to capture a soldier.

But no soldier in Battalion 51 will be kidnapped at any price.

At any price. Under any condition.

Even if it means that he blows himself with his own grenade together with those trying to capture him.

Also even if it means that now his unit has to fire a barrage at the car that they are trying to take him away in.

There is no situation. No situation that they will have this weapon."

Desperate Kossacks Defame Bill Kristol, Proclaim Themselves Pure (Updated)

One of the things that continues to sicken me about the progressive-left as a movement is in the way that they perpetually spit the most vile hatred at their perceived political enemies, even as they consider themselves to be ethical and pure. It is the very height of hypocrisy, of course, but this is hardly surprising coming from today's left. We are, after all, talking about people who actually blamed Sarah Palin for the Giffords shooting in Tucson.

The Occupy Wall Street movement has, like pretty much everything that comes out of the left, an anti-Semitic element within it. In a brief Politico article Bill Kristol writes:

“It’s not surprising that elements of the modern left are anti-Semitic," said ECI chairman William Kristol in a statement. "It is surprising that respectable liberals have praised the protesters while ignoring the anti-Semitism. Liberals have pretended to see nothing hateful and hear nothing hateful, and therefore have said nothing to rebuke their allies. Will they now speak up?”

Kristol is, of course, correct. "Elements of the modern left are anti-Semitic." Would anyone at this late date deny this? Of course elements of the modern left are anti-Semitic however Kristol is wrong when he suggests that liberals pretend to see nothing hateful.

Having spent much of the last 30 years, or thereabouts, among self-proclaimed liberals and progressives, I believe that I can state with some authority that they do not pretend to see nothing hateful, but simply refuse to see or acknowledge their own seething hatred.

They are not pretending, however.  They are simply unreflective.

They are very quick to point out perceived hatred coming from Republicans and they are very, very quick to spit hatred at those Republicans. What liberals are not very good about is, however, self-scrutiny. They seem incapable of even modest levels of reflection. If they partook of such reflection they might draw a number of conclusions.

One conclusion that they might come to is that their own movement is just crawling with people who are highly racist against Arabs and Muslims. Another conclusion that they might come to is that the progressive-movement has made of itself a home to anti-Semitic anti-Zionists and has thus become hostile territory to Jews who self-identify as Jews and who care about the Jewish state. Furthermore, if the left showed even the least little bit of self-reflection, they might conclude that spitting shear hatred at the Bill Kristols of the world... the Sarah Palins, the Michelle Bachmann's, the Glenn Becks, the Sean Hannitys, the Ann Coulters, the Rush Limbaughs... and on and on and on... does not reflect very well on a political movement that claims to represent compassion.

It's rather difficult to convince people that you represent compassion, even as you spit hatred.

Here, let me give you some examples from a recent hate-filled Kossack diary defaming Kristol for standing up for the Jews.

This progressive thinks that Kristol is up to some evil plot:

This is beyond buffoonery, this is deliberate and calculated. Never accuse someone of being a buffoon unless that is the obvious reason for their behavior. There is far more going on here than can be explained by the term buffoon ...

Ah, yes, the devious Kristol is up to something shady. It's all about protecting Israel from even a breath of criticism according to NY brit expat. It simply can't be that Kristol is correct and that Democratic leaders are ignoring expressions of anti-Semitism within their own movement.

Which, of course, is exactly the case.

They are going to label anybody (6+ / 0-)

who objects to the policies and practices of the State of Israel as being anti-Semitic.

OK, look at this video and tell me where anyone is discussing the policies of the state of Israel.

This is not about Israel, but about left anti-Semitism.

He's evil thanks for reminding me (2+ / 0-)

tipped and rec'ed.

Ummm...

Evil? Yes, that's right, one's political opponents represent eeeeeevil.

Bill Kristol is a warmongering ass who's wrong all the time. Fuck him and the New American Century he rode in on.

Such compassionate introspection.

In such comments on Daily Kos and throughout the progressive-left blogosphere one easily discerns the disconnect between the claims of compassionate liberalism and the actual hatred that liberals spew.

Anyways, let me say again, that the progressive-left is actually not nearly so anti-Semitic as it is anti-Arab and anti-Muslim as evidenced by the fact that they tend to treat Arabs and Muslims like little children. It's an imperialist form of racism that goes to the 18th and 19th centuries.

Too bad that they refuse to look in the mirror.

Update:

In the comments Dan Bielak has stated, correctly in my opinion, that it is not progressive-left racist condescension against Arabs and Muslims, but in favor of Arabs and Muslims.

He actually makes an interesting point. The left sees itself as "anti-racist" and theoretically proclaims friendship with those whom they perceive as living under oppression, which would, needless to say, include many, many Arabs and Muslims. Of course, theoretical proclamations of friendship don't mean a whole lot when the movement, in actuality, ignores Muslim violence and the genocides in Darfur and the Congo.

In any case, the left remains entirely racist toward Arabs and Muslims, but it is a pro-Arab and pro-Muslim form of racist condescension.

I do not really know what to make of that fact, but it is a fact and Dan is correct.

Second Update:

This comment is just too good not to highlight:

If Bill Kristol didn't hate America (0+ / 0-)

he'd downplay this. But no - he wants trouble.

Fight until we win. Then we can begin arguing about the details. - Kwickkick (RIP) 2009

So for a Jew to point out anti-Semitism on the progressive-left is to hate America!

What a maroon.

Progressive-Left Racism is Not Fringe

It is, in fact, central.

Anti-Muslim and anti-Arab racism is such a given on the Left that progressives seem incapable of even recognizing it, much less acknowledging it. Anti-Muslim and anti-Arab racism just fades into the background among white, western liberals. The truth is that progressives are, today, more racist than conservatives, and that they are far more racist toward Muslims and Arabs than they are toward Jews.

Nonetheless, since the progressive-left accepts anti-Semitic anti-Zionism as part of its larger movement it demonstrates that anti-Semitism is acceptable within the movement as a whole.

This is a big part of what drove me out of the Left, actually. The acceptance of anti-Zionism as part of the progressive-left should be abhorrent to anyone who cares about Israel and it was certainly abhorrent to me.

One of the primary forms of left-wing racism, however, is the infantilizations of Arabs and Muslims. Arabs and Muslims, particularly Palestinians, are condescended to and treated as if they hold no responsibilities as adult human beings. Palestinian fighters are not even held accountable for intended violence against innocent civilians. This is clearly a left-wing form of racism. Conservatives tend to stress personal responsibility, a creed that mitigates this particularly ugly "soft" racism.

Furthermore, while there are individual conservatives who are racist, the Left has taken the anti-Semitic and anti-Zionist BDS movement as part of the larger coalition. Individual Democrats may favor or oppose the BDS, but it remains the case that the BDS movement has a place at the table. In this way, because the BDS movement itself is anti-Semitic, anti-Jewish racism becomes institutionalized on the Left.

So, don't let these people get away with seeking to diminish our concerns as a recent commenter sought to do here.

They own the BDS movement, so they can just eat it. And we should have nothing to do with the progressive-left unless, or until, they stop screaming about how evil Republicans are and take a good, long, hard look at themselves for a change.

These people need to understand that they cannot be supportive of those who would harm the Jewish people, via friendship with anti-Zionism and the movement to boycott Jewish Israelis, and still claim to be supportive of the Jewish people.

It simply does not work that way.

The progressive-left is not supportive of Gay people in the Middle East. It is not supportive of women in the Middle East. And it is most certainly not supportive of Jews in the Middle East.

And it is possible that what we are seeing in the streets, right at this very moment, is the last gasp of a dying political movement. One can hope, anyway. Look how desperate they have now become, what with their calls for REVOLUTION. They have no idea what they are even advocating for, do they?

Revolution? What revolution?

Does the Occupy Wall Street movement, if it is a movement, have even the slightest revolutionary theory to back up their cries in the streets? I doubt it. Have any of them spent any time at all building up the necessary socio-political infrastructure upon which a successful revolution would depend?

No. They haven't.

And just what kind of revolution would this be? Do they have any idea what they would replace the U.S. Constitution with?

No, they do not.

Do they want Communism? Socialism? Anarcho-Syndicalism? Something else? Or are they are just yammering nonsense at one another before the cameras about how they feel like they are getting screwed by rich people?

I'll take that last one for the fact that it is.

This may be the final dying gasp of a failed and incoherent ideology, which, as Ziontruth has pointed out, left tens of millions of people dead in the 20th century.

Thankfully the vast majority of Americans are not buying this Occupy Wall Street nonsense and we, all of us, have options outside of the progressive movement and the Democratic party. I say that the sooner we begin to exercise those options the better.

Are Jews movin' on?

Recent numbers show a significant drop of Jewish support for the president.

No matter what happens, 2012 will prove very interesting.

We shall see.

This is the Progressive-Left

And this, as well:

So, these progressives are calling for an "intifada" which is to say violence against the Jews.

Also they want Palestine to be "free from the river to the sea" which is an anti-Israel slogan that means the destruction of the Jewish state.

Notice, as well, the guy dressed up as a Jew, complete with fake big nose and peyos (curls) at about the 16 second mark.

And we're supposed to support this movement?

Do progressives honestly believe that Jews are so stupid as to support a political movement that literally calls for our deaths?

Fuggedaboutit, dummies.

ZionTruth Has Some Words

"The real question is what makes a Nazi a Nazi?"

In my opinion:

Exterminationism padded with moral-sounding arguments to make it look like justice.

The Nazis gave plenty of reasons why the extermination of the Jews was justified. The Marxists ("Progressives") do it in a more laid-back style: "Ya know, I'm not saying suicide bombing is justified, BUT you can't occupy and oppress a people for more than 60 [sic] years and expect nothing to happen!"

You just get the idea they'd greet an Iranian atomic attack on Israel (God forbid) with crocodile tears: "I grieve for the people who were destroyed because they were so uncompromising and addicted to their ill-gotten gains of land."

As for the fact that such an attack could be the end of the Sudeten-Arabs as well as those "Zionist oppressors"—well, you can't make an omelet without breaking eggs. So long as the Sudeten-Arabs exist, there's something to blame the Jews, uh, I mean Zionists for. Not Naher El Bared, their massacre in Lebanon by fellow Arabs, because that doesn't serve the purpose.

Shabbat Shalom.

.
.
.

Editor's Note:

The Nahr al-Bared refugee camp in Lebanon was subject to a massacre in 2007.

But as this was a case of Arabs killing Arabs, no one in the west cared. Certainly the progressive-left never cares when Arabs kill Arabs or when Muslims kill Muslims or when Muslims kill Jews or Christians.

This is because the progressive-left has given up entirely on notions of universal human rights and thus basically stands for nothing.

A Partial List of Savages

This is a partial list of the savages to be released for Gilad Shalit:

Abdel Hadi Ghanem, an Islamic Jihad terrorist responsible for the 1989 terror attack on Egged bus 405, in which 16 Israelis were killed.

Fahad Schludi, a terror operative who took part in the 1993 abduction and murder of IDF soldier Yaron Chen.

Bassam Abu Sneina and Riyad Asila, who are serving a life sentence for the 1998 murder of yeshiva student Haim Kerman.

Nael al-Barghouthi, the longest-serving Palestinian prisoner, who was sentenced to life in prison in 1978, for murdering an Israeli security officer.

Yehiya As-Sinwar, who was one of the founders of Hamas’ security forces in Gaza and was involved in the abduction and murder of IDF soldier Nachshon Wachsman. He is also the brother of one of the terrorists involved in Gilad Shalit’s kidnapping.

Jihad Yarmur, who was convicted of Nachshon Wachsman’s murder.

Ahmed Najar, former head of the Silwad terror cell, which killed 3 Israelis in six shooting attacks during the al-Aqsa Intifada.

Mohammed Hamada, who was convicted of planning a rocket attack on Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem.
Ruhi Musteha, a senior operative with Hamas’ military wing.

Husam Badran, the former head of Hamas’ military wing in the West Bank, who orchestrated the deadly terror attacks at the Tel Aviv Dolphinarium in 2001, at the Park Hotel in Netanya in 2002 (which killed 30) and at the Sbarro restaurant in Jerusalem in 2001 (which killed 15).

Muhammad Duglas, who was implicated in the Sbarro attack, and is serving 15 consecutive life sentences for the murder of 19 Israelis.

And, yet, on places like Daily Kos people are happy that Israel is releasing murderers.

For myself, of course, I am happy that Gilad may soon be freed, but only a moron or a moral pygmy would be happy about the release of murderers.

Is Sofia a Nazi Zombie?

The answer, sadly, is no.

:O)

Although I have never met her, I feel reasonably sure that Sophia is not a Nazi Zombie. In fact, I would venture to say that she is nothing like a Nazi Zombie and unless anyone gives me even the smallest reason to think otherwise I will continue to insist that this is the case.

She did however snag my "zombies" on Daily Kos.

She caught them both, which is just plain sad.

It is Sophia 2 and Karmafish nuffin.'

{Rats!}

Which, of course, also leads me to wonder just what the hell is going on with this woman that she knows me so well that she could accomplish this?... but whatever.

It's really none of my business, I guess.

I knew that she was onto me when I saw that she had registered as a "follower." I did not know exactly what the fuck a follower is, but I knew that I did not want Sofia as one. That much I knew, for certain.

And I knew my goose was cooked, for sure, when Volley made a point of challenging me about one particularly nasty, ugly, stinky person.

Nonetheless, there is a significant question here.

The real question is what makes a Nazi a Nazi?

This is a good question. It's hardly an original question, of course, but it is also the very question that lead to my most recent demise on that bastion of universal brotherhood Daily Kos.

What makes a Nazi?

Theodore Adorno and the Frankfurt School sought to answer that question after World War II, leading to theories around the "authoritarian personality." John Dean sought to revive this intellectual trend during George W's administration with his book Conservatives Without Conscience.

Daily Kos represents an example of this top-down, authoritarian mind-set. The funny thing about that, tho, and the ironic thing, perhaps, is that Markos did not particularly encourage it. Not from what I saw. It's an organic authoritarianism and an insecure desire for group-think that just developed naturally because people are people.

What we know for sure is that most actual Nazis, that is, most regular German party members, were just that. They were regular volk. Your average day-to-day Nazi was not running around with a little Hitler mustache killing people. No. Most were no different than human beings anywhere at any time.

And that is the real point, I think. The Nazis were not an anomaly, but normal human beings.

And the same goes for your average Klansmen and the same goes for the reviled group of your choice. Take your pick. (How about the Khmer Rouge?) These people whom we love to hate are not evil people, but normal people who go along with an agenda of hatred because they actually believe it is the right thing to do.

That's what a Nazi is, really.

This is not an original insight, but it is something that we should consider.

These people who perpetually and forever hate on Israel, thus encouraging violence against Jews, do so not so much out of malice... although there is malice aplenty... but because they honestly believe that they have a moral imperative to expose the Jewish state for the vile and racist and colonialist and imperialist, racist state that they constantly tell one another that it truly is.

Nazis, whether Arab or European, are actually moralists. They believe in the rightness of their cause and do so on grounds of social justice. I like the way that Pilar Rahola put it in her 2009 speech when she says that it is:

not possible to totally explain the present-day imbecility of anti-Israelism. Both drink from the fountain of intolerance and lies. Also, if we accept that anti-Israelism is the new form of anti-Semitism, we conclude that circumstances may have changed, but the deepest myths, both of the Medieval Christian anti-Semitism and of the modern political anti-Semitism, are still intact. Those myths are part of the chronicle of Israel.

For example, the Medieval Jew accused of killing Christian children to drink their blood connects directly with the Israeli Jew who kills Palestinian children to steal their land. Always they are innocent children and dark Jews. Similarly, the Jewish bankers who wanted to dominate the world through the European banks, according to the myth of the Protocols, connect directly with the idea that the Wall Street Jews want to dominate the World through the White House. Control of the Press, control of Finances, the Universal Conspiracy, all that which has created the historical hatred against the Jews, is found today in hatred of the Israelis. In the subconscious, then, beats the DNA of the Western anti-Semite, which produces an efficient cultural medium.

And we get plenty of this type of material on Daily Kos on a daily basis, do we not?

I think that we do.

But, I can tell you with total assurance that the Huff Post is much, much worse.

No question.

Peace to you, please, Sofia.

Cheers!

And my sincerest apologies to Volleyboy1.

However much we may disagree... and he cannot be happy with me about this most recent skirmish or idiocy or whatever one might call it... I know the guy is a very smart guy with a very big heart.

Progressive-Left anti-Semitism

Alright. I am just shamelessly swiping this content. Matt, from the Huffington Post Monitor snatched it from... well?... the Huffington Post and I am snatching it from Matt.

Good stuff, for sure, from Pilar Rahola.

Why do so many intelligent people, when talking about Israel, suddenly become idiots?

This speech was given December 16, 2009 at the Conference in the Global forum for Combating Anti-Semitism in Jerusalem. Pilar Rahola is a Spanish Catalan journalist, writer, and former politician and Member of Parliament, and member of the far left.

A meeting in Barcelona with a hundred lawyers and judges a month ago.

They have come together to hear my opinions on the Middle-Eastern conflict. They know that I am a heterodoxal vessel, in the shipwreck of “single thinking” regarding Israel, which rules in my country. They want to listen to me, because they ask themselves why, if Pilar is a serious journalist, does she risk losing her credibility by defending the bad guys, the guilty? I answer provocatively – You all believe that you are experts in international politics when you talk about Israel, but you really know nothing. Would you dare talk about the conflict in Rwanda, in Kashmir? In Chechnya? – No.

They are jurists, their turf is not geopolitics. But against Israel they dare, as does everybody else. Why? Because Israel is permanently under the media magnifying glass and the distorted image pollutes the world’s brains. And because it is part of what is politically correct, it seems part of solidarity, because talking against Israel is free. So cultured people, when they read about Israel, are ready to believe that Jews have six arms, in the same way that during the Middle Ages people believed all sorts of outrageous things.

The first question, then, is why so many intelligent people, when talking about Israel, suddenly become idiots. The problem that those of us who do not demonize Israel have, is that there exists no debate on the conflict.

All that exists is the banner; there’s no exchange of ideas. We throw slogans at each other; we don’t have serious information, we suffer from the “burger journalism” syndrome, full of prejudices, propaganda and simplification. Intellectual thinkers and international journalists have given up on Israel. It doesn't exist. That is why, when someone tries to go beyond the “single thought” of criticizing Israel, he becomes suspect and unfaithful, and is immediately segregated. Why?

I’ve been trying to answer this question for years: why?

Why, of all the conflicts in the world, only this one interests them?

Why is a tiny country which struggles to survive criminalized?

Why does manipulated information triumph so easily?

Why are all the people of Israel, reduced to a simple mass of murderous imperialists?

Why is there no Palestinian guilt?

Why is Arafat a hero and Sharon a monster?

Finally, why when Israel is the only country in the World which is threatened with extinction, it is also the only one that nobody considers a victim?

I don’t believe that there is a single answer to these questions. Just as it is impossible to completely explain the historical evil of anti-Semitism, it is also not possible to totally explain the present-day imbecility of anti-Israelism.

But what beats in the conscious? Why does a renewed intolerance surge with such virulence, centered now, not against the Jewish people, but against the Jewish state? From my point of view, this has historical and geopolitical motives, among others, the decades long bloody Soviet role, the European Anti-Americanism, the West’s energy dependency and the growing Islamist phenomenon.

But it also emerges from a set of defeats which we suffer as free societies, leading to a strong ethical relativism.

The moral defeat of the left. For decades, the left raised the flag of freedom wherever there was injustice. It was the depositary of the utopian hopes of society. It was the great builder of the future. Despite the murderous evil of Stalinism’s sinking these utopias, the left has preserved intact its aura of struggle, and still pretends to point out good and evil in the world. Even those who would never vote for leftist options, grant great prestige to leftist intellectuals, and allow them to be the ones who monopolize the concept of solidarity. As they have always done. Thus, those who struggled against Pinochet were freedom-fighters, but Castro’s victims, are expelled from the heroes’ paradise, and converted into undercover fascists.

This historic treason to freedom is reproduced nowadays, with mathematical precision. For example, the leaders of Hezbollah are considered resistance heroes, while pacifists like the Israeli singer Noa, are insulted in the streets of Barcelona. Today too, as yesterday, the left is hawking totalitarian ideologies, falls in love with dictators and, in its offensive against Israel, ignores the destruction of fundamental rights. It hates rabbis, but falls in love with imams; shouts against the Israeli Defense Forces, but applauds Hamas’s terrorists; weeps for the Palestinian victims, but scorns the Jewish victims, and when it is touched by Palestinian children, it does it only if it can blame the Israelis.

It will never denounce the culture of hatred, or its preparation for murder. A year ago, at the AIPAC conference in Washington I asked the following questions:

Why don’t we see demonstrations in Europe against the Islamic dictatorships?

Why are there no demonstrations against the enslavement of millions of Muslim women?

Why are there no declarations against the use of bomb-carrying children in the conflicts in which Islam is involved?

Why is the left only obsessed with fighting against two of the most solid democracies of the planet, those which have suffered the bloodiest terrorist attacks, the United States and Israel?

Because the left no longer has any ideas, only slogans. It no longer defends rights, but prejudices. And the greatest prejudice of all is the one aimed against Israel. I accuse, then, in a formal manner that the main responsibility for the new anti-Semitic hatred disguised as anti-Zionism, comes from those who should have been there to defend freedom, solidarity and progress. Far from it, they defend despots, forget their victims and remain silent before medieval ideologies which aim at the destruction of free societies. The treason of the left is an authentic treason against modernity.

Defeat of Journalism. We have more information in the world than ever before, but we do not have a better informed world. Quite the contrary, the information superhighway connects us anywhere in the planet, but it does not connect us with the truth. Today’s journalists do not need maps, since they have Google Earth, they do not need to know History, since they have Wikipedia. The historical journalists, who knew the roots of a conflict, still exist, but they are an endangered species, devoured by that “fast food” journalism which offers hamburger news, to readers who want fast-food information. Israel is the world’s most watched place, but despite that, it is the world’s least understood place. Of course one must keep in mind the pressure of the great petrodollar lobbies, whose influence upon journalism is subtle but deep. Mass media knows that if it speaks against Israel, it will have no problems. But what would happen if it criticized an Islamic country?

Without doubt, it would complicate its existence. Certainly part of the press that writes against Israel, would see themselves mirrored in Mark Twain’s ironical sentence: “Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.”

Defeat of critical thinking. To all this one must add the ethical relativism which defines the present times: it is based not on denying the values of civilization, but rather in their most extreme banality. What is modernity?

I explain it with this little tale: If I were lost in an uncharted island, and would want to found a democratic society, I would only need three written documents: The Ten Commandments (which established the first code of modernity. "Thou shalt not murder" founded modern civilization.); The Roman Penal Code; and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. And with these three texts we would start again. These principles are relativized daily, even by those who claim to be defending them.

“Thou shalt not murder” ... depending on who is the target, must think those who, like the demonstrators in Europe, shouted in support of Hamas.

“Hurray for Freedom of Speech!”..., or not. For example, several Spanish left-wing organizations tried to take me to court, accusing me of being a negationist, like the Nazis, because I deny the “Palestinian Holocaust”. They were attempting to prohibit me from writing articles and to send me to prison. And so on... The social critical mass has lost weight and, at the same time ideological dogmatism has gained weight. In this double turn of events, the strong values of modernity have been substituted by a “weak thinking,” vulnerable to manipulation and Manichaeism.

Defeat of the United Nations. And with it, a sound defeat of the international organizations which should protect Human Rights. Instead they have become broken puppets in the hands of despots. The United Nations is only useful to Islamofascists like Ahmadinejad, or dangerous demagogues like Hugo Chavez which offers them a planetary loudspeaker where they can spit their hatred. And, of course, to systematically attack Israel. The UN, too exists to fight Israel.

Finally, defeat of Islam. Tolerant and cultural Islam suffers today the violent attack of a totalitarian virus which tries to stop its ethical development. This virus uses the name of God to perpetrate the most terrible horrors: lapidate women, enslave them, use youths as human bombs. Let’s not forget: They kill us with cellular phones connected to the Middle Ages. If Stalinism destroyed the left, and Nazism destroyed Europe, Islamic fundamentalism is destroying Islam. And it also has an anti-Semitic DNA. Perhaps Islamic anti-Semitism is the most serious intolerant phenomenon of our times; indeed, it contaminates more than 1,400 million people, who are educated, massively, in hatred towards the Jew.

In the crossroads of these defeats, is Israel. Orphan and forgotten by a reasonable left, orphan and abandoned by serious journalism, orphan and rejected by a decent UN, and rejected by a tolerant Islam, Israel suffers the paradigm of the 21st Century: the lack of a solid commitment with the values of liberty.

Nothing seems strange. Jewish culture represents, as no other does, the metaphor of a concept of civilization which suffers today attacks on all flanks. The Jews are the thermometer of the world’s health. Whenever the world has had totalitarian fever, they have suffered. In the Spanish Middle Ages, in Christian persecutions, in Russian pogroms, in European Fascism, in Islamic fundamentalism. Always, the first enemy of totalitarianism has been the Jew. And, in these times of energy dependency and social uncertainty, Israel embodies, in its own flesh, the eternal Jew.

A pariah nation among nations, for a pariah people among peoples. That is why the anti-Semitism of the 21st Century has dressed itself with the efficient disguise of anti-Israelism, or its synonym, anti-Zionism. Is all criticism of Israel anti-Semitism? NO. But all present-day anti-Semitism has turned into prejudice and the demonization of the Jewish State. New clothes for an old hatred.

Benjamin Franklin said: “Where liberty is, there is my country.” And Albert Einstein added: “The World is a dangerous place. Not because of the people who are evil; but because of the people who don’t do anything about it.” This is the double commitment, here and now; never remain inactive in front of evil in action and defend the countries of liberty.

Thank you.
