The Latest FBI Hate Crimes Statistics

Karam

As you can see, Islamophobia is just a huge problem in the United States.

:O)

Noting the rate of anti-Semitic attacks, many of our "progressive" friends would undoubtedly tell us how this is all Israel's fault.

By the way, I pointed out similar numbers last year to the Nice Lady at Firefly Dreaming who was wholly dismissive of the figures, preferring to believe, against all evidence, that the real problem is American hatred toward Muslims. Thus I should not have been terribly surprised when she started participating on an anti-Semitic website that literally features a corrupted Star of David on its front page, while promoting the genocidal apartheid slander against the Jewish state.

And, yet, somehow, people took objection to my objection. That's the way that it works on the progressive-left. They do not mind expressions of anti-Jewish bigotry. What they mind is when Jews stand up for themselves. That is what cannot be allowed.

I saw it time and time again.

  1. If Israel would just up and die the Garden of Eden would envelope the world and there would be everlasting peace. Unicorns would come out of their hidey holes and give progressive children magical rides to lollipop land. Bla bla bla bla.....(insert progressive drivel here.)

  2. Antisemitism is a global phenomenon and much worse in nearly every other part of the world, particularly in Europe. That said, it's still at unacceptable levels in the United States. We make up a mere 2% of the population, and yet 67% of religiously-motivated bias incidents (at least as defined by the FBI, I would consider antisemitism both ethnic and religious hatred) are antisemitic in nature. And one can't help but think of France, where Orthodox rabbis have said that men should not wear kippot because of just how dangerous it is there.

  3. I recently posted the following on CiF Watch (on the post: "Amazon.com customers praise truths of ‘The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion’", which is a post that I found out about by reading a comment by Doodad in which he referred to it), but I posted some emotional unskillful comments before I posted the following, so I think that my posting it there was not as beneficial as it would have been if I had posted it without having posted the emotional unskillful other comments that I posted.

  4. I will never forget the Boston Review article a few years ago:

"In order to assess explicit prejudice toward Jews, we directly asked respondents “How much to blame were the Jews for the financial crisis?” with responses falling under five categories: a great deal, a lot, a moderate amount, a little, not at all. Among non-Jewish respondents, a strikingly high 24.6 percent of Americans blamed “the Jews” a moderate amount or more, and 38.4 percent attributed at least some level of blame to the group.
Interestingly, Democrats were especially prone to blaming Jews: while 32 percent of Democrats accorded at least moderate blame, only 18.4 percent of Republicans did so (a statistically significant difference). This difference is somewhat surprising given the presumed higher degree of racial tolerance among liberals and the fact that Jews are a central part of the Democratic Party’s electoral coalition."

  5. Here's yet another example of someone trying to downplay antisemitism and up-play anti-Muslim bias in America:

as if statistics like these just don't exist.

Obviously there is bias against both communities, but these statistics don't lie about which is worse, at least in terms of physical incidents.

  6. When an ideogogue gets a notion in their head, stats/facts don't matter fizziks. It's just another Narrative which will not be denied.

  8. fizziks,

    the question is "why?"

Why should progressives be somehow invested in up-playing anti-Muslim bigotry and down-playing anti-Jewish bigotry?

They are, in fact, so invested, but why?

I feel confident that ideology is at the heart of that question. And ideology is a tough nut, for sure. It is something that becomes a part of who we are to an extent that most are not even aware of it.

It resides in the unspoken assumptions. And in this case the unspoken assumption is that the Palestinians are the underdogs and the Israelis are the overcats.

    Ever since June of 1967.

It's a matter of perception, but not of reality.

  9. It's also probably tied to the same kind of insanity that causes posters like this to defend loser Jihadists like Jose Pimentel:
    Jose Pimentel:

"But these words, while violent, are not the words of a terrorist. This statement is based in the international laws of war. It seems our latest ‘terror’ suspect has been reading the Geneva Conventions."
