Obama's Secret Meeting With the Muslim Brotherhood

Michael

A question that absolutely must be asked is just what is the nature of Barack Obama’s relationship with the anti-Semitic, Islamist organization, the Muslim Brotherhood? The reason this question must be asked is because the Brotherhood is currently surging in power throughout the Middle East, most significantly in Egypt, and has done so, at least in part, as a consequence of the actions of the President of the United States.

President Obama holds some responsibility for the rise of the Brotherhood because when Obama threw Mubarack to the wolves, he simultaneously helped clear a path for the Brotherhood in Egypt. As loathsome as the Mubarack dictatorship might have been, it was an ally of the United States and committed to keeping the peace with Israel. What the rise of political Islam throughout the Arab world will bring us is open to debate, but do not expect to see a friendly regime in Cairo, despite Obama’s obsequious demeanor toward political Islam.

The Brotherhood, it cannot be overemphasized, is the father organization of both Hamas and al-Qaeda, and has an ideological and historical provenance that goes to Nazi Germany. The goals of the organization are summed up in its credo:

Allah is our objective; the Quran is our constitution, the Prophet is our leader; Jihad is our way; and death for the sake of Allah is the highest of our aspirations.

Death for the sake of Allah? This is the organization that Obama met with in secret?

In a Ha’aretz article from as early as June 4, 2009, we learn that:

U.S. President Barack Obama met with members of Egypt's Islamist opposition movement, the Muslim Brotherhood, earlier this year, according to a report in Thursday editions of the Egyptian daily newspaper Almasry Alyoum.

The newspaper reported that Obama met the group's members, who reside in the U.S. and Europe, in Washington two months ago…

According to the report, the members requested that news of the meeting not be publicized. They expressed to Obama their support for democracy and the war on terror.

The Muslim Brotherhood wanted to keep their meeting with Obama a secret? That’s rather surprising. I can certainly understand why Obama, himself, would want to keep a meeting with genocidal Islamists a secret, but why would they want to do so? Furthermore, they told Obama that they support democracy and the war on terror?

The scary thing is that, given his friendliness toward the Brotherhood, Obama may very well have believed them. But, whether he did or did not, it should be clear that if Barack Obama met with the Brotherhood before they came into power in Egypt, this represents clear support for that organization.

I assume, of course, that Barack Obama does not share the Muslim Brotherhood's genocidal intentions. In fact, I am certain that he does not. I therefore can only conclude that president Obama honestly believes that the organization is, all evidence to the contrary, "moderate."

And this is precisely why the Obama administration is a menace to Jews the world over. If there is one thing that Jewish people learned from World War II it is that when governments or leaders declare a genocidal intent toward the Jews, they mean it. For Obama to be so dismissive of this concern, given the rocking good time that Jews had in the Europe in the middle of the last century, tells us that he just doesn't care or just doesn't get it or, more likely, both.

I still think that Obama is a shoo-in come November. I find it difficult to believe that Mitt Romney can possibly unseat this president. It is for this reason that we must keep a close eye on this administration viz-a-viz the Jewish state. I don't trust him because he has thrown away my trust with dumb little maneuvers like the one above.

Barack Obama met with the Muslim Brotherhood in secret?

And Jewish liberals are supposed to continue supporting this guy? In my not so humble opinion, it would take either a blinkered "progressive" ideologue caterwauling about "Israel Firsters" or a trembling Ghetto Jew to still support this president.

Thankfully, most of us are neither.

  1. To me, it's not a matter of support or not, but whether "progressives" have the courage to criticize when he does something is wrong. Too many do not, in fear, because the wrath from some of their brethren is just too much to handle.

The more I see and learn about Obama, the more I believe that if he was not president he would not be as pro-Israel as America is. I don't see him as pro-Main Street either. However, I still support him, compared to the Republicans that are far worse to my eyes.

That does not mean that I think he is a great leader and incapable of making some very poor decisions. In that way I differ from many of his supporters that seem to believe he can do no wrong. And some of them call others deranged!

  3. You would think, right?

I mean, this is how thoroughly that we have swallowed the poisonous "Palestinian narrative."  Even Jews think that Jews who live where Abbas and Obama do not want them to are bad, bad people who deserve no consideration or support.

    It's racist, I say.

    Racist to the bone.

And this does not mean that the Palestinians cannot have a state.  That's the point!  The point is that they can have a state, two states for two peoples, but Barack Obama and "progressive Zionists" are going to throw away that possibility merely because some Jewish choose to live in places like Itamar?

It's not the Fogels who are screwing up the two-state solution, but the progressives, themselves, who buy into racist excuses for Palestinian intransigence.

  4. I think that the expoundations by Robert Spencer and Raymond Ibrahim in the following video may elucidate important aspects of this phenomenon - especially the expoundation by Raymond Ibrahim. Please don't be put off by, at the beginning of the video, the nature of the questioning of the audience member, which is a questioning whose nature may feel off-putting to some viewers. I recommend watching the whole video.

  5. Thanks, Dan.

    I will give it a look-see.

I have to say, tho, if this was two years ago I would have ignored Spencer entirely because "progressives" kept telling us what a bad, bad "Islamophobic" man he is.

Thank G-d I am beyond that kind of idiotic partisan self-censorship.

There is a whole world of thought that is entirely lost on the left because they listen to the delegitimizers among themselves.

    It's stupid, really.

  6.  Nothing good can come of ANYONE validating Palestinian hatred of "settlers," be it Obama or progressives in general. And yes, it IS validating every time someone parrots the Palestinian view that settlers are the problem.

  7. There is not an iota of doubt that Muslim brotherhood is an off shoot of Zionists and was formed with specific aim which has just been realized in Tunis, Libya, Egypt and now in progress in Syria. Its not the fault of Jews but us, as we have given them many reasons to ride us as they will.

    2. Boy, they're just crawling out of the woodwork.

There is not an iota of doubt that Muslim brotherhood is an off shoot of Zionists...

This has to be one of the dumbest statements that I have ever read.

Sayyid Qutb, one of the founders of the movement, wrote a pamphlet entitled "Our Struggle with the Jews" and this genius thinks that somehow the Muslim Brotherhood derives from Zionism.

Y'know, every once in awhile someone will say something to the effect of, "The rise of contemporary anti-Semitism is much like what we saw in Germany during the 1920s" and I always think to myself, "Oh, pish posh. It's not as bad as all that."

With people like Mehdi and the General running around, I begin to wonder if I am not wrong.

    3. I'm still just trying to figure out what the comment even means, or the point of it. A spam link at the end would make sense, but there isn't even one of those. The only thing this person is selling is yet more completely-disconnected-from-reality theories of Secret Jooooo Control of the world.

If nothing else, it's truly a marvelous example of a certain mindstate, isn't it?

    5. And the funny thing is that the essay is almost a year and a half old.

You'll notice that the comments are messed up and are all attributed to "Michael." This is because when we switched commenting systems from Disqus, way back when, things went haywire for a short while.

I am considering going back to them, actually, because hopefully they have worked out the bugs, and Disqus has a better nesting system then does blogger.

      We shall see.

    6. Yeah, I noticed the date (and the amusing look of the comment thread, heh) too, and my first thought was Spambot. But no such link, so apparently not...

I am a fan of Disqus at times.

I tell ya, Mike, it ain't easy on the wallet living a 12 minute subway ride from a real Chinatown. I just picked up a couple hand-shaved noodle stir fries, a fried pig ear appetizer, AND a take out menu for a new Burmese place along the way...

      Problems, problems! ;)

  8. Be Patient Mr Micheal, History has its way of revealing itself sooner or later. Qutab's writings do not impress any rightful thinking Muslim. And besides, people like him present in our a midst,we Muslims do not need enemies as they are doing the job on their behalf. I do not blame any one other than self. Our so called brothers like Qutab and his followers are on rampage once again with the help of West. Why, this is the point I want to bring about, and who is being served here?Is it humanity or Zionists.Who is aiding These so called Muslims by Bombing Syrian Territory and what right West has to bring about rulers of their own choice
in Muslim States.I suggest that u must go through the history of Ibn al Wahab and link shall be established. No hard feelings, after all its a debate.

  9. Mehdi,

thank you sincerely for your comment.

I very much welcome any Muslim from anywhere in the world to participate here and tell us what he or she may think.

You are at something of a disadvantage due to the fact that English is not your first language, but I very much welcome your participation on the chance that we may come to understand one another better.

Although I may disagree with you on all sorts of issues, I do not see that you have any particular hostility either to this blog or toward the Jewish people.

Peace to you, please, good sir.
