Ronn Torossian has a piece up at The Algemeiner entitled "Media Coverage of Israel is Simply Insane." I like this article's title very much because it neatly and succinctly points out the sad and obvious truth that... media coverage of Israel is simply insane.
In his piece Mr. Torossian highlights a number of articles from international mainstream newspapers and shows how they are distorted in a malicious bias against the Jewish state. For example, Reuters had an article entitled "Israeli air strike kills Gaza militant, breaks truce" when, in fact, the Israeli airstrike was in response to the Hamas rocket fire which actually broke the truce. Or let's take the Associated Press article entitled "Israel charged with extorting African migrants in trafficking ring" when the truth is that it was an Israeli, not Israel, that was charged with extortion.
In concluding his piece Ronn Torossian has this to say while quoting Ze'ev Jabotinsky:
This media coverage that Israel is faced with cannot be perceived rationally, it is simply insane. Perhaps the Zionist leader Ze’ev Jabotinsky had the answer when he wrote “Instead of Excessive Apology” in 1911: “We constantly and very loudly apologize…. Instead of turning our backs to the accusers, as there is nothing to apologize for, and nobody to apologize to, we swear again and again that it is not our fault… Isn’t it long overdue to respond to all these and all future accusations, reproaches, suspicions, slanders and denunciations by simply folding our arms and loudly, clearly and calmly answer with the only argument that is understandable and accessible to this public: ‘Go to Hell’?”
Go.
To.
Fucking.
Hell.
I kinda like it! It's got a nice, snappy ring. The Jews of the Middle East have been under direct siege for 100 years, a siege that began as soon as they attained their freedom from dhimmitude during World War I. Those people are a tiny persecuted minority surrounded by a hostile majority of 100 to 1. Yet in the imaginations of western progressives, as well as of so many who work in the media, it's all their fault. Whatever "it" might refer to when covering the Middle East invariably Israel comes in for disproportionate blame that ends up justifying the ongoing violence against the 6 million there.
So, what can one say when under the constant glare of false or bloated accusations, such as the malicious and ultimately genocidal "apartheid" accusation? There comes a certain point, it seems to me... and to Mr. Torossian, and to Ze'ev Jabotinsky... where the best answer to such charges is the simplest and most direct.
"Go to hell" covers it quite nicely.
Just Go to Fucking Hell.
I like it!
"Go to hell" is actually a lot nicer than how I'd put it, myself...
ReplyDeleteFNA right!
DeleteI say that we stand up for the Jewish state of Israel and its capital, Jerusalem.
DeleteWhat I say is that if the Palestinians wanted the Arab sections of the city for a capital they could have had that with Barak's offer in 2000 or Olmert's offer in 2008.
Arafat refused the first and Abbas refused the second.
Enough. It was their choice.
Jerusalem is the ancient capital of the Jewish people and so it will stay.
