Obama : Sorry . Damn That Blasted Video To Hell. |
geoffff
I don't get it. Could this be true?
I saw this a few days ago but it was at a place that made me think it was just campaign noise as shrill as it gets. But now I think it could be true. This is what I don't get.
How come in the world's most free, liberal and important democracy less than a fortnight before her people's most important decision this century is this story not everywhere?
This should be the biggest Democrat presidential campaign derailment since George McGovern's running mate was caught hanging upside down in his pyjamas from a tree and baying at a herd of cows at midnight while sober just ten days out from polling day. Or something. Surely?
In fact it is worse than that.
This is the story.
On September 11 the US diplomatic mission in Benghazi is attacked and four Americans are killed including the Ambassador. The carefully planned attack lasts four hours and is monitored from Washington DC from the first shot. The premeditated attack could only be the work of the Al Qaeda network. Al Qaeda are not the only Islamist Nazi revolutionaries in the world by any means but they do have a certain style.
For these inheritors of Nazi jihad insurgency this is a war of symbols and they seem to know what works. They just murdered an US ambassador on September 11 just to show they could. The US for all its power could not stop it.. Instead this US administration sought to brush it off as over righteous blast back from some dumb U Tube upload.
This is not our fault they said while they sat around for hours and watched their own officials butchered because they represent the US and the West and modernity and all that is hateful for these medieval revolutionaries from hell. Blame it on the video. .A terrible offence to Islam. Blame it on anything. Blame it on the bossa nova. Blame it on Western values. Our fault really for allowing the offence. We have not appeased militant and political Islam enough.
Blame it on the Coptic Christian. It does not matter. Everybody knows they will blame it on the Jews .
This Administration allowed this outrage to be mixed up with some stupid video that proved only how stupid, puerile and dangerous the extremist religion mind can get when left to fester unchallenged. We saw it in our streets and around the world and so they apologised.for the offence. Freedom of expression. Sorry guys. Arrest that man in the night. Will do better next time.
But there has been no apology for not being able to save these American officials in harm's way and now it gets worse.
This from the latest column of Melanie Philips.
... far more devastating evidence has emerged that not only did he indeed know from the start it was a premeditated attack, but that for several hours after it started the White House refused to answer desperate pleas for help by American forces trying to defend the consulate – and who died as a result.
Despite CIA denials, Fox News reports that that an urgent request from the CIA annex for military back-up during the attack on the U.S. consulate and subsequent attack several hours later on the annex itself was denied by the CIA chain of command -- who also told the CIA operators twice to ‘stand down’ rather than help the ambassador’s team.
‘Former Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods was part of a small team who was at the CIA annex about a mile from the U.S. consulate where Ambassador Chris Stevens and his team came under attack. When he and others heard the shots fired, they informed their higher-ups at the annex to tell them what they were hearing and requested permission to go to the consulate and help out. They were told to “stand down,” according to sources familiar with the exchange. Soon after, they were again told to “stand down.”
‘Woods and at least two others ignored those orders and made their way to the consulate which at that point was on fire. Shots were exchanged. The rescue team from the CIA annex evacuated those who remained at the consulate and Sean Smith, who had been killed in the initial attack. They could not find the ambassador and returned to the CIA annex at about midnight.
‘At that point, they called again for military support and help because they were taking fire at the CIA safe house, or annex. The request was denied... The fighting at the CIA annex went on for more than four hours -- enough time for any planes based in Sigonella Air base, just 480 miles away, to arrive. Fox News has also learned that two separate Tier One Special operations forces were told to wait, among them Delta Force operators.
‘A Special Operations team, or CIF which stands for Commanders in Extremis Force, operating in Central Europe had been moved to Sigonella, Italy, but they were never told to deploy. In fact, a Pentagon official says there were never any requests to deploy assets from outside the country. A second force that specializes in counterterrorism rescues was on hand at Sigonella, according to senior military and intelligence sources. According to those sources, they could have flown to Benghazi in less than two hours.’
There’s a heart-breaking interview with Ty Woods’s father here. And just look here at the crass vulgarity with which Vice-President Biden apparently addressed this bereaved father.
Read the whole piece.
Obama and Clinton could have saved these Americans but did not?
Why? Too cowardly? Their lives were expendable?
If they were taken alive and held as hostages they would have been more important for certain than as mere Americans in harm's way. That would have played to the electorate for sure in one way or another. Would they have been worth a rescue mission then?
This administration does not deserve to survive. There is no evidence they recognise the true nature of the enemy. The transition must come soon.

Shirl has provided links in comments here to pieces just put up in Frontpagemag.com that I thought were worth another post at Geoffff's Joint.geoffff
This thing does not pass the nose test. We don't have the detail and naturally the Obama administration will do what it can to keep the lid on until after Melbourne Cup day but like a dodgy tax arrangement with too many loose ends --- it just smells.
Did the State Department pull an operation already in play to get support to Americans under siege on American soil because the "symbol" of US special forces arriving on the scene would be out of sync with its policy of appeasement of political Islam? Or for some other political reason however they choose to explain it?
What is this to be? If indeed that did happen then even if Obama is still in the White House next year why would that not be grounds for impeachment?
When a US president abandons an ambassador and staff to the enemy because to mount an effective response will jeopardise whatever his Secretary of State is cooking up -- appeasement wise -- with some faction of the enemy -- or whatever -- then he has abandoned more than the lives of a few brave Americans doing their jobs in a dangerous place. This is no ordinary mistake of judgement..
This is a grave error of policy and principle.
The seeds of Watergate were in the public arena before Nixon was re elected.
Ambassador Stevens and the others were attacked because they are a symbol and you can be certain this victory is being celebrated by the enemy and those who share its vile ideology way beyond just Libya and the Middle East. The defeat will be compounded if the Benghazi outpost is closed but in this bloody war of symbols that seems likely.
To have sent in the marines. Or the cavalry. The guys who took out two holes. Whoever. That was the symbol that was most urgently called for in this war. Its absence is a terrible message to the enemy. It tells them they are winning.
The worst symbol of all would be an US president who abandoned these souls to their fate even if that was because those were the policy settings in place while he and the others were on the campaign. Not on the job. Is that possible? Maybe I'm naive but that would not happen on West Wing.
This is exactly the thing that inspires the enemy. This is what they celebrate. The hated West on the recoil from this blow from jihadist Islam. The spitting contempt for democratic process would be just the fizz in their champagne.
This is why the appeasement of hateful murderous men inspired to every fibre by a hateful murderous ideology is so very very wrong.
If any of this were true, it might get some traction. And I do mean any. Since it's not, I doubt it will get much traction.

DeleteIt's all over the place. The problem is the very weird media you have in the US
It's as if Obama is some kind of a god to be revered and G-d forbid anyone utters a bad word against him
Maybe you're not reading what the US military is saying. Or you're just reading one side of the story. The news is out there. But if you only want to read what supports you're already warped view, go ahead. Plenty of bad shit is written about Obama. Some of it is true. And some is pure bullshit. Critical thinking might be necessary.

I am "socked in" at Laurie's sister's place outside of Baltimore and may not even be able to post tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteWe were supposed to be flying home tomorrow morning, but the "Frankenstorm" has made that impossible and, in fact, I may not have internet access for the next few days.
Heck, we may not even have electricity for the next few days.
But, as you guys know, the bottom line for me is that it is just dumb for Jewish people to support an American president who is supportive of political Islam.
It is a betrayal of the Jewish people.
Anyway, hopefully I will have on-line access tomorrow, but if not then I will be out of commission until Sandy's mess is cleared up.
Cheers!
I hope you stay safe and dry. This thing is freaking me out.
DeleteI just want to get home, Stuart.
DeleteKeep on hangin' in there, youze all.
DeleteWord around my neck of the woods is that nine drunken Kenzos wearing Fishtown Irish tee shirts, shorts, black socks and Adidas sandals are staggering from block to block with baseball bats and smashed beer bottles, looking for someone named 'Sandy' that they heard is threatening the local Arctic Splash supply. I'm about 89% sure this rumor could actually be true...
Hi Jay,
DeleteI have to say, so far this storm has been pretty mild, at least south of Baltimore.
Heck, our plane could have flown this morning, but I understand why they shut things down anyway.
We're now hoping to clear out of here on Wed morning, but so far they've cancelled 3 flights on us due to this storm.
Hopefully they will not cancel that one!
btw, how's your dad?
They moved him out of the hospital this morning, and into an inpatient physical rehab facility. Got him out just in time, before all this stuff started. He's beaten all the immediate threats from... well, from dying in surgery... and now it's on to just clearing up a few remaining issues from that, and then on to learning to walk again. He'll be okay, but it's still gonna take a while.
DeleteDoesn't look too bad here yet either, though my kitchen ceiling has sprung a leak (in a very pain-in-the-ass-to-secure location) and the wind looks pretty impressive outside at the moment.
No trees on my block, so at least we don't have to worry about that. The tall, woody weeds in the 'missing tooth' lot of the rowhouse block on the other side of the alley look like those permanently-bent trees at the Oregon Coast right now, though. The worst is coming around midnight, apparently, so maybe I can just sleep through it. SEPTA's already planning to restore transit tomorrow afternoon, so it looks like we'll be through the worst of this in only another 16 or 18 hours or so.
Good luck on getting out early on Wednesday!
Learning to walk again.
DeleteThat cannot be easy.
My heart is with your family and your father.
Hang in there Mike and take care. These things are bloody terrible I know.
ReplyDeleteAll the best to you and yours.
... and everybody else in the way of this thing.

I'm 'sort of' used to this wild weather. My son lives son Cairns which is right smack bang in the middle of cyclone alley.

ReplyDeleteThere is definitely something malodorous about this.
'On Saturday, Obama upped the ante, telling ”Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough that “if we find out there was a big breakdown and somebody didn’t do their job, they’ll be held accountable. Ultimately as Commander-in-Chief I am responsible and I don’t shy away from that responsibility.”'
If someone didn't do their job that could only be Obama. Isn't an armed attack on a US diplomatic post something that demands the immediate attention of the president? And Secretary of State?
Attacks on diplomats are acts of war. They are meant to be acts of war. That's pretty basic introductory international law anywhere in the world.
Geoffff,
ReplyDeletethis story should be a game-changer, but it probably won't be because the American MSM is in the bag for Obama.
Another part of the problem is that we have super-sophisticated progressive-left genius Jews who insist that which is obviously true is actually false.
In the alternative world of super-sophisticated progressive-left genius Jews BDS has virtually nothing to do with the left and Obama did nothing to help the Brotherhood into power.
I think that we may need more stupid Jews to explain reality to them.
“he's a genius, she's a genius, wow, you know alot of geniuses, you should meet some stupid people sometime, you might learn something” - Woody Allen.
Michael, it has nothing to do with the MSM being in the bag for Obama. Or any super sophisticated progressive left genius Jews who isnsist that which is obviously true is actually false. (Are you arguing here that super-sophisticated progressive-left genius Jews controll the media????)
DeleteWhat it has to do with is common sense. The argument that both the CIA with boots on the ground, literally blocks away, and the military, probably in constant contact with the CIA, could have done something and didn't is absurd. The Pentagon reported that, in conjuntion with military commanders on the ground, that the conclusion was that there were no viable options that did not require too much risk of additional loss of life.
Arguing that this was a political decision extends that absurdity to grotesque proportions.
Which explanation is simple logic, and which requires ideological pretzels?
Oh, and Geoff and Shirl may not realize this, but you do. This report came from Fox News. Had it come from a reliable news service, and could be verified, I suspect it would have received wider coverage.
Seven hours is a long time to have no viable options to leaving an unguarded people to their fate. What is this ? The Norwegian police?

"
Is America a Bully or a Leader?
"
As noted above, the establishment view today is that America has been a bully in the past, acting unilaterally and not respecting the views of others. Obama has said this directly when speaking to foreign—including Middle Eastern—audiences.
"
But how does one stop being a bully? By showing that one isn’t tough, doesn’t protect one’s interests fiercely. Thus, in the Benghazi case, the U.S. government didn’t send the ambassador to Benghazi with Americans to guard him, nor did the consulate have Americans to provide security. To do so would be to show disrespect for the Libyans, to act in a way that might be perceived of as imperialistic.
"
Similarly, the president would not call in an airstrike against the attackers or send an armed rescue team to the consulate because to do so would have signaled an arrogance and aggressiveness, putting Americans first and not acting as a citizen of the world.
"
Stu,
DeleteLaurie and I got in this afternoon and now 9:30 PM feels like half past Midnight on Halloween.
What a blessing it is to be home.
In truth, tho, I have not a whole lot to say about Obama's handling of Benghazi, although I do think that a serious investigation is in order.
From what I can tell, the Benghazi travesty has, thus far, two stories in discussion and a third only barely beginning to crack awareness.
The first is / was the discussion around the youtube video and the extent to which the Obama administration apologized for Arab-Muslim violence.
The second, which is currently being pushed by the right... and for very good reason, as far as I am concerned... is the administration's failure to take care of our diplomatic corps and staff in Benghazi.
What I find most compelling, tho, are the questions asked concerning how the Benghazi failure reflects Obama administration false preconceptions on ME policy, more generally.
This is the most important question.
I was opposed to the war in Iraq, but after that war we defended our diplomatic corps with US soldiers.
In Benghazi the Obama administration relied, in some significant way, upon local troops and thus ignored the fact of rising political Islam in that region.
You should consider reading Barry Rubin.
Sorry , Barry Rubin
