Yael Matzpun was sleeping in a room with her four-year-old daughter and two-year-old son when she was awoken by heavy footsteps in the hall. She knew that her husband, an IDF officer, was not due at home.I LOVE this story. Especially the ending.
“Suddenly I saw a terrorist in a kefiyyeh [head scarf] standing opposite me,” she told Maariv. “I decided that if I didn’t fight, he would murder me and my four children, there would be a massacre like in Itamar, where the Fogels and three of their children were murdered in their home.”
The terrorist turned on the light and said something in Arabic, she recalled. He had a knife in one hand and a metal pipe in the other. Suddenly he lunged at Yael, stabbing her in the face and shoulder.
What the terrorist did not know is that Yael is an athlete trained in Krav Maga, Israeli military hand-to-hand combat. She used her skills to drive him back and into the bathroom, and locked him in. At the same time, she pushed her young children to safety.
Once the terrorist was locked away, she called for help. IDF forces arrived only to see the terrorist escaping through a bathroom window. They gave chase and attempted to arrest him, but were forced to open fire when he refused to drop his weapons. The terrorist was killed.

I Love This Story.
Doodad
OMG, I missed this story.
ReplyDeleteAt this point I would say that pretty much all Jewish people, and certainly all Jewish children, need to learn forms of self-defense, whether Krav Maga or Kung Fu or something else.
And that realization, to be perfectly honest with you, just pisses me off to no end.
The story's still developing. By Thursday, he'll be a journalist who was only trying to get an interview. Or a personal chef sent by a local human rights organization, who was simply in a momentary panic after he couldn't find the za'atar.
Delete(And yeah, great ending.)
By Friday, he'll be some local Palestinian "peace activist" seeking to confront the Zionist, imperialist usurper who intentionally built her house on the site of an ancient Palestinian olive grove.
DeleteOne thing though. He won't be confronting anyone again. ;)
DeleteJay, I wouldn't doubt it. This "journalist," nonsense is beyond the pale.
ReplyDeleteThat "journalists" swallow the repeated disinformation is beyond the pale.
DeleteSo many of them also prefer the Said narrative. Like in academia, they have lost sight that journalism suffers when activism takes over.
They tell us they are so smart. One might think they would not regularly fall for the perfidy that a cub reporter can easily see through.
Earlier I saw this, concerning Rachel Maddow, that illustrates:

Made me chuckle, especially because progressives believe they are immune from ignorance.
Further, in their theoretical construct of reality, the oppressed are entitled to resist and even derogate from the norms of human decency and international law. It is acceptable to look the other way, or outright promote manipulation, because it is for the greater good, whether we know it or like or not.
What a sorry state we are in considering the age of technology and information that is supposed to make things better and improve quality of life.
Well, if you can't get a job flipping burgers what is left BUT journalism? Or schilling for Hamas; but, I repeat myself.
ReplyDeleteA good story but still very chilling.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes Mike that's exactly the same thought I had. Jews everywhere must be prepared to handle this sort of thing. "Lone wolf" attacks on Jews fuelled by internet hate are likely to become commonplace.
The mental atmosphere is here already. The world stinks of the thirties. Gut wrenching. We all know who is Nazi Germany. Who would have thought it would rise again? In Britain it could be 1938.
