Obama Supports Radical Islam

In my recent Times of Israel piece I argue that Obama supports radical Islam and want to know how Jewish progressive supporters of Obama justify this support.

What are their arguments in favor of radical Jihad?

If one supports a president of the United States that supports radical Islam then, by logical necessity, one supports radical Islam.

I have to say, tho, that I am perpetually amazed at the power of self-delusion among political partisans. Normally I would think of it as ideological blinkertude (and, yes, I coined the word "blinkertude"), but really it's not so much about ideology as much as it is about partisan dogma.  It's the unconscious willingness to put partisan loyalties above obvious truths so that truth, itself, becomes dependent upon one's political inclinations.

The evidence that I put forth in the Times of Israel piece does not represent the total of the evidence, but a merely a portion.  This evidence includes the following:

1) Obama's praise for the "Arab Spring" in his speech wherein he compared it to the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 1960s, as well as, much to my astonishment, the American Revolution.

2) Obama administration meetings with the Muslim Brotherhood on several occasions, as reported by Ha'aretz in 2009, years prior to helping them come into power.

3) His invitation to the Muslim Brotherhood, over the objections of Hosni Mubarak, to attend his 2009 Cairo speech.

4) The fact that his Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper, praised the Brotherhood before the United States Congress as secular and moderate.

5) Obama's 2012 United Nations speech in which he explicitly claimed to support the Arab Spring, which as it turns out, is radical Islam.

There is, you can be sure, plenty more where that came from, not the least of which was Obama's effort to make certain that the Egyptian military capitulated to the Brotherhood.

So, as I have been saying more and more, do not piss on my head and tell me it's raining.

Barack Obama, as a matter of fact, does support political Islam (or "radical Islam" or "the Islamic Jihad" or "Islamism" or whatever term one might want to use for this widespread political movement that is almost entirely ignored by racist leftists.)

We can speculate why he supports that political movement and I tend to think that, in his case, it is from ideology, i.e., post-colonial theory as it was absorbed from people like Rashid Khalidi and Edward Said.  But for whatever reason that he supports it, it doesn't change the case that he does, in fact, support it.

Way too many Jewish "liberals" need to yank their heads out of the sand and rub the dust from their eyes.

The Jewish progressive-left is letting down the Jewish people because they simply cannot bring themselves to face obvious, but uncomfortable, truths.

In the recent election Obama received about 70 percent of the Jewish vote (I was off in my prediction by about 5 percent) which means that about 10 percent of American Jews have realized our mistake from 2008.  Meanwhile the Republicans now hold about 30 percent of American Jewry, which is a sizable increase from years gone by.

I am not, yet, a Republican but I very much think that the time is coming wherein Jewish Americans need to support, and help reform, that political party.  The Democratic party is far too beholden to its anti-Israel "progressive" wing and the activist base of that party, including large numbers of Jewish people, believe that the Jews of the Middle East are responsible for the hostility of the Arab-Muslim majority against them.

I hesitate to say that they're "blaming the victim" because the Jewish people are no longer victims... we've already done that and been there... and we are not going back.

I think it is long past time to move on.
