Military Source Confirms: Palestinians Fired Rocket From Gaza Strip

Mike L.
On Sunday, the Palestinians launched a rocket from the Gaza Strip, an official military source confirmed.

The rocket was fired from the Gaza Strip towards Israel, and landed in an open area near Ashkelon. It was the first launch to reach Israel since the end of Operation Pillar of Defense month ago.

Recently the IDF identified at least one attempt to launch a mortar shell, which landed within Gazan territory.

  1. Unacceptable. This needs to end, permanently.

    Where's the outrage at this?

    1. Why would there be outrage, Jay?

We both come from the left, but the left considers violence against the Jews of the Middle East to be a matter of social justice, so why would they object?

    2. If even one powerful firecracker was launched at Buffalo from over the border, it would be front page news for a week.

If a Port Angeles, WA neighborhood was made unlivable due to rocket fire from British Columbia, hundreds of square miles would be flattened within ten minutes.

If as much as even a dozen rockets landed in Tucson in a week, Mexico would no longer exist.

Yet, Jews in Israel are expected to just suck it up.

      Wtf?

    1. Of course, it ultimately doesn't matter what any of us think. It does matter what those living under this constant existential threat think.

And I'm thinking a lot of them aren't too far off from what you think, Shirl. And I sure don't blame them...

"We have now reached a point in history where leading American mainstream papers (hard to call them newspapres anymore) are advocating the murder of Israelis. I’d say another red line has been crossed. And since there won’t be any siginificant mainstream reaction to this, they would be emboldened to go farther. Over decades American papers have become gradually more radical one baby step at the time. They test the water, and when it proves safe they take another step, when the waves settle down and people get used to it they take the next step, and so on. If they can already safely suggest to disarm Israel from even its most passive defense in the hope that more Israelis are murdered for the sake of “peace”, it won’t be long now before they start advocating more extreme “solutions”. A few years at best.

"That kind of suggestions also exposes the true face of the left, why they so vehemently opposed to any measure of self-defence Israel takes, whether it’s a military operation, the security fence, or even Iron Dome. It’s not because they care about the Arab suffering caused by the Israeli self-defense against Arab aggression – Iron Dome is an entirely passive self-defense that doesn’t cause any suffering to any Arab (except the frustration at not being able to murder more Jews). The left simply opposes Israeli self defense in principle, no matter what kind, because they want Israelis to die – either for the sake of “peace” if they’re more on the stupid side, or for the sake of dead Israelis if they’re more on the malicious side."

"On July 4, 2010, Nick Kristof ,major columnist for the NY Times, printed that he was “surprised” that Israel’s government had been telling the truth and that there was no humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

"That was it. No apology to Israelis for demonizing the country. No denunciation and exposure of the Leftist NGOs(let’s be`realistic )who misinformed him ;just “surprised” .

    1. Anti-Semitism 2.0, by Mudar Zahran (Mudar Zahran is a ‘Palestinian’ Arab writer and academic from Jordan who currently lives in the U.K. as a political refugee.)

"The concept of the ‘evil Jew’ has made a well-disguised comeback: Criticizing Israel and Zionists, is now deemed a legitimate option to cursing Jews and Judaism. Not only is it open, socially acceptable and legal, but it can actually bring prosperity and popularity. This new form of anti-Semitism 2.0 is well-covered-up, harder to trace and poses a much deeper danger to the modern way of life of the civilized world than the earlier crude form of it, as it slowly and gradually works on delegitimizing Jews to the point where it eventually becomes acceptable to target Jews, first verbally, then physically -- all done in a cosmopolitan style where the anti-Semites are well-groomed speakers and headline writers in jackets and ties; and not just Arab, but American and European, from ‘sanitized’ news coverage of the most bloodthirsty radicals, to charges against Israel in which facts are distorted, selectively omitted or simply untrue, as in former President Jimmy Carter's book on Israel. ..."

"...When I tried, in '95 and '96 and '97 to alert many of my foreign colleagues to the fact that Arafat was stealing the money, back then, in the financial corruption, and that the ['Palestinian' Arabs] are complaining about this, many of my American, Canadian, European, colleagues, asked me back then if I were on the payroll of 'The Jewish Lobby'. They asked me: 'Did Jews pay you money to say that Arafat is corrupt and bad?'. I told them: 'No, Sir. Jews did not pay me money. Where is this 'Jewish Lobby' you guys are talking about? Maybe I'll just go work for them. It might pay me more than the newspapers.' The foreign media refused to believe what even the Palestinians [the 'Palestinian' Arabs] themselves were saying, that Arafat is corrupt. Some of these foreign journalists told me: 'You know, maybe these stories about financial corruption are true. But, you know, our editors back home don't want to hear this story. They want 'Anti-Occupation' stories.' They say: 'Give us anti-Israel stories -- that makes our lives much easier. And we might even receive an award from the United Nations if we write anti-Israel stories.' Other journalists told me back then: 'Listen, maybe these stories are true about financial corruption, but don't forget we need to go back to Ramallah and Gaza. Arafat would kill us. We can't write anything that reflects negatively on...[the Palestinians [the 'Palestinian' Arabs [the organizations of the 'Palestinian movement' -- Fatah-PLO and Hamas]]].' I told them: "What do you mean you're afraid?! You guys have American, Canadian, European, passports, and you have governments that will protect you! And if you are *really* afraid, what are you doing in this part of the world -- covering [*undiscernable speech*] conflict? Go back to your newspaper, and write about the weather or the environment, or do something else. But you should not allow yourself to come and cover a conflict if you are going to be...if you're going to allow *either* party to intimidate you, because you will be betraying you mission. And, by the way, if anyone really has good reason to be afraid, it's me -- the local Arab guy who lives over here and says these things openly in Arabic, in Hebrew, in English, in French, and still goes back to Ramallah! So I'm the guy who's putting my life at risk, and not you guys! ..."

    2. On Antisemitism - I Find It Shameful - Shameful Attacks on Israel, by Oriana Fallaci, 2002 (Oriana Fallaci was an Italian journalist who opposed fascism, and who fought, as a partisan, against the Nazi-German-allied Fascist regime of Italy during World War II (and, btw, who, in the late 1960's, in her being a trendy Leftist at that time, was, at that time, a "supporter of 'the Palestinian cause'")

"...I find it shameful and see in all this the rise of a new fascism, a new Nazism. A fascism, a Nazism, that much more grim and revolting because it is conducted and nourished by those who hypocritically pose as do-gooders, progressives, communists, pacifists, Catholics or rather Christians, and who have the gall to label a warmonger anyone like me who screams the truth. ..."

One wonders why this is so for American media. After all, there is no huge appetite here for the pro-Palestinian garbage that gets jammed down our national throat 24x7. The work of Jared Israel, Francisco Gil-White, and Felix Quigley provides a possible answer: Our oligarchs are promoting Islam as a new feudalism.

    4. Randall, I'm not entirely certain what this means:

Our oligarchs are promoting Islam as a new feudalism.

Would you elaborate, because I am not the least bit certain that I get you.

    5. Based on the economic upheavals here and around the world, it's clear that our top .01% intend to destroy the current order and replace it with some sort of feudal structure. I'm referring to the bailouts, the refusal to criminally prosecute the banks, the breakdown of property law that accompanies the massive foreclosure crisis, the accelerating income inequality, the flat refusal of our political class to deal with unemployment as a problem, etc.

As a device to extract what is left of our wealth, an Islamic order would be a perfect replacement for existing society.
