Russian authorities secretly recorded a telephone conversation in 2011 in which one of the Boston bombing suspects vaguely discussed jihad with his mother, officials said Saturday, days after the US government finally received details about the call...Now that some time has passed and we've learned a little more about the Tsarnaev brothers would it be wrong and racist of me to suggest that these two gentlemen were Jihadis?
In early 2011, the Russian FSB internal security service intercepted a conversation between Tsarnaev and his mother vaguely discussing jihad, according to US officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the investigation with reporters.
The two discussed the possibility of Tsarnaev going to 'Palestine,' but he told his mother he didn't speak the language there, according to the officials, who reviewed the information Russia shared with the US.
Is that out of line?, because I do not want to be racist. Look, just because these two guys were initiated into an ideology that seeks the murder of westerners and Jews doesn't mean that we should be harsh about the matter. There is no doubt in my mind that these two young Jihadis were perfectly fine and good people. They obviously meant well. They cared about their families and wanted what was best for everyone - accept for me, you, and our family and friends, who they wanted to kill for theological-political reasons.
But that's not their fault, really. The only way to be fair to the innocent Tsarnaev brothers is for us to accept our guilt. Their behavior is not their fault. On the contrary, their behavior is our fault. In fact, as I learn this morning, their behavior is even in some measure the fault of the Jewish people of the State of Israel.
For thirteen of the last fourteen centuries the Jews of the Middle East have been dhimmis under the boot of Arab-Muslim imperialism and if they had not freed themselves in the early-middle of the twentieth century there would be less reason for Jihadis like the Tsarnaev brothers to be angry. As Jewish people who care about what is best for all of humanity - even if we do not give a shit about ourselves - the only conclusion that we can come to is that we were mistaken to free ourselves from slavery under Islam.
As most progressives would tell you, the real problem is that Jews are mean. They wouldn't put it in quite those terms, but that is what they are saying. In 1948, for no reason whatsoever, these militaristic and racist and imperialist and apartheid-like Holocaust survivors and their wives attacked a whole bunch of entirely innocent Arabs who wanted nothing more than to raise their Sacred Olive Groves in peace. The Jews, or so we are told, ethnically cleansed the indigenous population from Jewish land.
The problem is/was that those pernicious Jews wanted to steal "all the land." All of it! Sure that land only represents a fragment of one percent of the land of the Middle East and it has been Jewish land for almost four thousand years and the Jews were willing to divide it and divide it again, but that doesn't change the fact that they insisted upon stealing all of it. All of it, I say!
And look at what is going on now. We have all these Jews with their backs to the Mediterranean, surrounded by a whole bunch of pissed off Arabs, and those Jews (wrongly) insist upon defending themselves. This is unheard of in human history and it is simply unacceptable. Within long-standing Muslim and European traditions Jews are not allowed to defend themselves and must be righteously condemned as aggressors, if not killed, whenever they do so. It has always been like this and it must always stay like this. I am not exactly sure why, but what I do know is that when the tiny Jewish minority in the Middle East does defend itself from the much larger Arab majority, it pisses off well-meaning white people in Europe and the United States.
So if it pisses off well-meaning white non-Muslim people, one can only imagine how the poor Tsarnaev brothers felt.
It's only been a few weeks since Barack Obama put his foot on Netanyahu's head in order to make him apologize for allowing the IDF to defend the country against
And who could blame them, really?
Mike, in case you missed it Latma's take on the search for motive in the FBI is brilliant. It could be any agency anywhere in the West. It could be a caucus of progressives.

DeleteSo now of course Huffington Post will claim that Obama protected the Jews at the expense of Americans in Boston. You know that's coming.
ReplyDeleteIt's clear to me that Boston has to take unilateral goodwill actions by ending all construction everywhere in Boston. Moreover Newton should be turned over to Chechen Islam in total. All of this must occur before any further discussions about the final status of Boston which of course will include the expulsion of all infidel colonialist invaders from illegally occupied Boston, which is, as we know, the 7th most holy site in all of Islam.
ReplyDeletein'shallah
Hell, considering the 'quality' of the products generally provided by today's 'architects,' I'd actually get behind a worldwide moratorium on new construction everywhere, myself.
ReplyDeleteAt least until we clear out the final folks who think littering our cities with buildings that look like step ladders, box graters and man-eating parasites is a good idea, and replace them with a generation that respects the human realm once again, and all...
Just sayin'... ;)
I lived in a small apartment building at the corner of Broderick and Haight in SF that was built in the 1960s. This building is, shall we say, functional, but I feel reasonably certain that when the owners met with the architect they must have said something like, "We're looking for ugly. Can you build ugly?"
DeleteThe same, btw, is true for both SF State and City College of SF, particularly City College. Rumor has it that Frank Lloyd Wright once visited SF State and was asked what they should do to improve the aesthetic and he said, "Trees. Lots of trees."
Heh. I know the type.
DeleteThree of my four residences in Portland were three of the ugliest buildings in the entire city, and were actually infill of that same 60s vintage; two were unfortunately tucked into neighborhoods otherwise generally full of attractive homes and buildings.
The two worst were apartment buildings at NE 102nd across from the Fred Meyer, and SE Cesar Chavez (nee SE 39th) & Gladstone. A third place was pretty hideous, too, now that I think about it, but since it was a small house, it didn't stick out much with its ugliness.
Only the SRO (shared bathrooms and all!) I lived in on W. Burnside around 22nd-ish was attractive as a building, but it wasn't a place I'd ever want to have to spend a night in again. ;)
Even my place in Oakland was shitty. It's that motor inn across from the Barnes & Noble there in Jack London Square. If it's still standing. Though I had all my life's belongings with me at the time, and though I fully intended to stay in Oakland once I got there, I never did get a 'real' place, and just stayed in that motel for a couple months, before heading back up to Portland again.
These days, I live (rent) in something much more fitting for a man of my tastes. Heh. Records conflict, but it's either an 87- or 95-year old, 3-story North Philly corner rowhouse, slightly run-down but still beautiful for what it is.
From an era when people had pride in everything they built, and didn't just throw up the cheapest shit-jack thing they could make a quick killing on.
I'm finally gonna be able to buy a place of my own just like this (though likely a smaller, mid-block two-story version) in a few years, and spend the rest of my life in it.
No more ugly domiciles for me. ;)
Omg, just looked that building up. I think I found it.
Delete;)
Faux English Castle-style stone walls (where the hell did they come up with that idea?), three random garage doors (?!) set amidst a blank street wall with no windows or other entrances on one side, etc etc.
It's definitely ugly, but I don't think it's quite as bad as my two buildings in Portland were. Which isn't saying much, but still. Heh.
I gotta look up those college campuses tomorrow...
