Rockets Hit Jerusalem

Michael L.

Many claim that Jerusalem is the "third holiest site within Islam."

Jerusalem is actually mentioned nowhere within the Koran, but is referenced many hundreds of times in the Bible.

But if Jerusalem is so holy to Islam, how can Arabs justify bombing it?

Y-Net reports:
Israel under fire: Sirens wailed in Jerusalem early Thursday evening, as residents of the capital reported hearing at least five blasts. A rocket hit a home in the Sha'ar HaNegev Regional Council and nine rockets fell in Eshkol at almost the same time, as Gaza militants continued their missile attack on Israel. No one was injured in the barrage. Earlier, IDF missiles hit two Hamas terrorists belonging to a rocket-launching cell in the northern Gaza Strip.
It is no longer a matter of the poor children of S'derot and Ashkelon growing up with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Now it is a matter of the entirety of Israel, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

It is a matter of Jewish survival.

I have been arguing for years that the Jewish people of the Middle East are a people under siege, even as they are perpetually accused by viciously hypocritical leftists as being the perpetrators of the very crimes against us.

And now, as bombs are dropping like shrapnel rain throughout the countryside because Arab-Muslim Jihadi racists despise us for religious reasons, the western left will insist that this is all the fault of those very Jews who are under assault.

Therein lies the disgusting irony.

I was very struck by Paul Berman's description of the second terror war (intifada) in which he noted that it was at the very height of Arab attempts to murder Jews that western-left hysteria and hatred toward those Jews reached its vicious crescendo at that time.

In other words, the more Arabs seek to kill Jews, the more western-left progressives will tell us to our faces just why it is that they believe we deserve our murder.

{Watch.}

We have, after all, been through this before.

  1. Some further points about the "holiness" the Muslims ascribe to Jerusalem:

Why have the Muslims used the precincts of the Western Wall as a trash dump at various times in history?

Why was al Aqsa allowed to fall into disrepair until the 1920's?

  2. Oh there are many many examples of the myth that Muslims have ever really cared about Jerusalem.
One of course is that during the 19 years that MUSLIM King Hussein had control over the oh-so-holy Islamic city, while he was a 15 minute helicopter ride away, he visited it exactly......twice. And of course during those same 19 years a "palestinian" state could have been formed in every square once of what is now being demanded, including East Jerusalem as their capitol.....but that was never the plan.
