Brief Note: The Jewish Mood is Turning Ugly... or is it just me?

Michael L.

briefnotesI think that there can be little doubt at this point that the mood of the Jewish community, both Israeli and diaspora, is turning ugly.

Feelings of insecurity, frustration, and anger are growing.  The Netanyahu government is beginning to take measures designed to crack-down on domestic Arab terrorism and there is even now talk of deporting the families of terrorists.  Further, they have resurrected the bulldozing of terrorist homes policy of years past.

French Jews are on the run and the rest of European Jewry is nervous.  The United Nations is an outright enemy to the state of Israel and, thus, to the Jewish people.  The European Union is hostile and the US administration under Barack Obama is unfriendly.  In the United States we have college students chanting, "Intifada!  Intifada! Long live Intifada!"... thereby, in the name of social justice - amazingly enough - demonstrating their support of Arabs who wish to murder Jewish people through stabbing us in the streets or running us down with automobiles.

This is making many thoughtful Jews begin to feel like we are being collectively backed into a corner and it is starting to really piss many people off.  So many westerners, particularly on the Left, honestly believe that the Jews of the Middle East, in the form of Israel, are the aggressors and that the Arabs are the indigenous party and the innocent party within the conflict.  No matter how many concessions Israel makes, no matter how many murderers of Jews it releases from its prisons as a gesture to dictator Abbas, no matter how often Israel agrees to a Palestinian-Arab state smack in the middle of that tiny bit of historically Jewish land, and no matter how many times Palestinian-Arab leadership rejects a Palestinian-Arab state and screams to the hillsides for Jewish blood to run in the streets, the West still blames the Jews in Israel for the hostility against them.

If it is true - and I believe that it is - that anger is rising within the international Jewish community, I say that we have every right to that anger.  Muslims kill Christians in Paris and high level Swedish government officials blame the Jews?  That's just not right and we should not have to stand for it.

Jews, as a people, are not real big on collective demonstrations of anger.  We are not of the rioting sort.  We are more the writing a strongly worded letter-to-the-editor kind of people.  And that is as it should be, I suppose.

But I would dearly love for the government of Israel to, in the most friendly and diplomatic manner possible, tell the Obama administration to go screw itself.

  1. the first thing that needs to happen for freedom to win is that enough of the American left must turn against Islam and stop instinctively defending it. Once that happens, the "racism against 'brown people'" argument turns to sand. The American right will always point out the evil of Islam; however, helping Israel stay and jihadism lose requires political unity.

Second, the backlash side against campus communism (the PC types who wanna scrub Woodrow Wilson's name, the "microagression" stuff) must win and send the clowns who peddle this stuff and the Palestine peddlers with it, which will be easier once Islam is stop being defended, at least with Israel/Palestinians. The "Palestine" movement is a big part of the SJW agenda.

Three, America must not encourage the spread of Islam here or let more Muslim refugees here (except Kurds who are the rare normal people who practice that religion). The spread of Islam is the retreat of liberty.

And four, American younger Jews need to stop being allowed to hide their Jewishness. They're enabling the anti-Semites! I've met so many American Jewish millennials who use the excuse "its only a religion" to "not be Jewish," and few people call them on the fact that being a Jew is an ethnoreligious thing: its BOTH. Once they're forced to accept who and what they are, they'll have no choice but to honour Israel or be self-haters.

  2. oh and five, this self-hating crap where we get rid of the Redskins, and not fully honour the Pilgrims needs to end: that parallel of "genocide" against the "indigenous native Americans" is the parallel that fuels the pro-Palestinian movement. Schools and government need to promote patriotism again. You know what? Good for the patriotic anti-communist videos the gov showed in the '50s. We need that again today. 5. Supporters of the Palestinian cause, as presently constituted, should be told in no uncertain terms not to lecture anyone about morality, that they support the abuse of human rights and the odor that emanates has a worse stench.

Not to mention that if they were really so smart, they would be able to comprehend the obvious imbalance that is seen in the substance and they way that human rights has been hijacked away from its original intent by bad actors.

Rather, these privileged types readily swallow the Orwellian party line and look for bogeyman to help them pretend they are actually pursuing justice. They believe, among themselves, that only they are in touch, on a variety of issues, but are so easily manipulated and indoctrinated. On college campuses they are engaged in full cultural revolution. Overall, they have little, if any, conception of human nature, that others do not act or believe as if their clones, or necessarily want their vision of human utopia.

  6. Sorry to be off topic, but this is a brilliant example of how the worst of the Left will excuse anything. And, of course, blame it on the West. This is what is really ugly.

This is Ken Livingstone, spokesman for the Labour Party UK, and one of the people dominating the Labour Party under Jeremy Corbyn. He was appearing on the BBC 's " flagship" programme " Question Time" last night.

Our media and social media are full of this today. It also comes at the same time as the Shadow Chancellor has been found to have supported the IRA's cause by " ballot, bullet and bomb." The Labour Party is imploding in a toxic mess. It gets worse by the day.
Back to Ken Livingstone ( friend of every Islamic dictator on the planet) and his declaration that the suicide bombers who blew up British citizens on 7/7 were, in fact, only doing it in "protest of the Iraq war."
At one point, he says, actually says, " They gave their lives." Like martyrs, really.
So, not the fault of the Islamic extremist suicide bombers, really the fault of Tony Blair.
It gets ever more unbelievable by the day, but this is who these people are. Many of us are in despair.

    1. Doodad,
Yes it's come to something when the leader of the Labour Party is endorsed by David Icke. Difficult to know where to start with that.

In case you're interested, there are two "laws" which have been established on Twitter in the UK; by Jeremy Duns, and by David Paxton.
They are concerned with the relationship between people who use the word "Zionist" or who spread anti-Semitic slurs on social media, and people who support Jeremy Corbyn. They are very ably explained in the following blog post.
      It's well worth reading.
