A Steady Diet of Hate

Michael L.

The Elder has a piece from last Wednesday, November 25, entitled, The death cult.

It is the story of two Arab-Palestinian children, one aged 11 and one aged 14, who recently set forth to murder Jews.

The Times of Israel tells us:
In their interrogation, the two children said they carried out the attack as an act of revenge, without planning in advance and with no encouragement from any adults.

“We travelled from Shuafat to Damascus Gate in order to stab a soldier but did not do it because the soldiers were in groups and we didn’t find one standing alone,” recalled the 11-year-old. “Then he told me ‘let’s do an attack together to revenge the death of Muhammad Ali.’ He opened his bag and showed me the knife. At Damascus Gate I bought a pair of scissors and then we boarded the light rail and looked for Jews to stab.” (Emphasis added.)
Looked for Jews to stab.

One thing that needs to be understood is that none of this is new.

Arabs have encouraged their children to harm Jews, or stab Jews, or stone Jews, for many centuries since the time of Muhammad.

In Jews and Arabs: A Concise History of Their Social and Cultural Relations, S.D. Goitein recalls that:
In former times--and in remote places even today--it was common for Muslim schoolboys to stone Jews. When the Turks conquered Yemen in 1872, an envoy was sent from the Chief Rabbi of Istanbul to inquire what grievance the Yemenite Jews had against their neighbors. It is indicative that the first thing of which they complained was this molestation by the schoolboys. But when the Turkish Governor asked an assembly of notables to stop this nuisance, there arose an old doctor of Muslim law and explained that this stone-throwing at Jews was an age-old custom (in Arabic 'Ada) and therefore it was unlawful to forbid it.
Unlawful, under al-Sharia, to forbid it.

People need to understand that Arab violence against Jews is not because Jews are mean to Arabs.

The fact of the matter is that if Israel was a 23rd Arab-Muslim country it would be regarded as the most enlightened country in that part of the world; the freest country and the country with most civil liberties for its citizenry, the only country hospitable to the civil liberties of Gay people and of women and of all people, regardless of religion.

It is strictly because it is the lone, sole Jewish state that it is reviled by the surrounding Arabs and its hostile European interlocutors.

And it should not be terribly controversial to say that the reason the nearly 400 million Arabs surrounding the Jews are largely impoverished is due to the heavy hand of Islam because Islam discourages freedom of thought.

The reason that Arab children are fed "a steady diet of hate" is for religious reasons.  The Quran specifically directs hatred toward the unbeliever in a manner that is not found in either the Bible or the New Testament.

There is much blood in the Bible, but it is not prescriptive.  The Bible is, in a sense, an initial attempt at history... prior to Thucydides.

But nowhere in either book do we read anything like this, found in the Quran:
O you who believe!  Fight the Unbelievers who are around you, and let them find firmness in you: and know that Allah is with those who fear him.
The idea of fearing G-d is intrinsic to all three faiths of the Levant, but it is only within Islam that fear of G-d is translated into the necessity for submission of the infidel.

Christianity is about peace.  Whatever anyone might say about the behavior of Christians over the centuries, there is no question that Jesus is a figure of peace.

Judaism is about law.  It is about following the precepts of G-d.  It is about justice.

Islam is about submission.

It is the very meaning of the word.

  1. Two things:

1 - If it's acceptably Koranic to 'marry' and impregnate a 12 year girl then I submit 12 year old boys are likewise adults and worthy of all the duties and responsibilities and all those consequences as well.

2 - The notion that 'child' soldiers are blameless victims is an artifice erected by the west to make them feel good, like saving puppies. The fact is that in many if not most instances, there are NO child soldiers, only soldiers aged 12-16. A 'child' that can lug a 9lb AKM at a jungle checkpoint is just as lethal as a 30 year old.

So if the Arabs want to dance with the grownups, fine.

    1. I disagree with your first point. It is NEVER acceptable to condone basic pedophilia. As such the basic tenants of islam are a pedophiles fantasy. As such the connection needs to be made CONSTANTLY that islam=legalized pedophilia!

    2. Child soldiers ARE blameless victims, but once they become soldiers they are subject to the rules of war.

The 1977 Additional Protocols to the Geneva Conventions prohibit the recruitment and participation in hostilities of children under the age of 15.

Violation is a grave offense. Those who indoctrinate these victims into soldiers commit war crimes or crimes against humanity, or both.

    3. Yet do we see even one UN official or Leftist condemning it oldschool? No. The typical response is something about asymmetry. They have to use kids cause they lack fighter jets.

    4. No question the UN and Leftists by their actions don't seem to care, except to pay lip service.

They are too busy rigging the mechanism to protect themselves as they practice corruption and lust for power.

That does not mean the kids are culpable for how they are used, or mean they should not be killed.

    5. Just because we in the west are ever pushing the age of adulthood out further and further does not mean that anyone else does or should. We barely accede adulthood to 25 year olds.

      Delete
    6. 25 probably *should* be the starting age for many or most aspects of adulthood, particularly since the general scientific consensus now seems to be that the human brain is not fully developed until around that age... but I get your point. I'm with what (I believe) School is saying. The real blame for turning children into soldiers and killers (Bassam Tawil at Gatestone concurs - http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/6995/palestinian-child-sacrifice), needs to go to the adults responsible for their use, development and recruitment. Mahmoud Abbas would be a wanted international war criminal hiding in a Saddamesque spider hole in a truly just world...

    7. When it comes to conflict, a soldier must be at least 15, and between ages 15-18, the older kids should be taken before any of the younger.

    8. And of course, healthy societies do not produce, let alone encourage and mold, lines of child soldiers, waiting to be taken.

As for their Western apologists... talk about a disgusting group of people who truly need their moral compasses taken in for servicing...

  2. "People need to understand that Arab violence against Jews is not because Jews are mean to Arabs. "
No, of course not. It's because Arabs are mean Jews. And the number, the identities of the intended victims, and the manner of violent attacks are by themselves proof aplenty. Western "progressive" denial of this is truly ugly, and not far behind the perpetrators.

  3. Off topic again, but it seems like the latest shooting calls for tougher Muslim control laws. Enough is enough.

    2. Then bringing more muslims here will make us all safer, them being so helpful to authorities.
I've noticed college campuses are already becoming safer for Jewish students with all the muslims attending.
And Sayyed Farouq was just an American gun nut.

    3. I'd suggest you read the very title of this blog post, and stop doing your part to feed into that.

You're barking up the wrong tree if you're presuming to lecture me on the issue of antisemitism on college campuses. I'm right smack right on the middle of it, and I'm fighting the very good fight for our people. Saying things that feed into a CAIR persecution complex does NOT help us, in any way, shape or form.

I never said that. I'm a Second Amendment Democrat, who, in fact, immediately thought "Islamic terrorism" the very first instant I heard that news yesterday. And I was correct, long before many others. I'm not quite sure what that point has to do with proposing "Muslim Control Laws," though. Some of us are capable of drawing reasonable distinctions.

      Delete
    4. I'm not lecturing you. Progressives ARE calling for tougher gun control laws following the shooting. On DK swamp today little fascists are calling for police SWAT teams to break down doors and confiscate our guns.

    5. Of course they are. Because they're hypocritical idiots who see terrorists in everyone with any opinions to their right, yet couldn't bring themselves to acknowledge an Islamist terrorist even as he was making his child saw their head off.

Fighting Regressive Leftists like those at Daily Kos doesn't necessitate becoming just like them, however.

I'm reminded of that old saying. never get into a fight with morons. They drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience.

Don't let them get to you. See the shades of gray they refuse to acknowledge. Be smarter than them. Please kindly thank you...

    6. Hi Jay. Glad to see you're back!
Hope all is going well with you.

Couldn't agree more with what you said about the Regressive Left.
It's really important not to see the world in the binary way that they do. And not to use the kind of tactics they use on anyone who disagrees with them.

      PS.
In case you're interested, Dave Rubin is supposed to be doing an interview with Nick Cohen very soon. Should be an interesting discussion..

    7. Hi, k! Great to see you're still here, too. I always make sure to read all your words. Please stop apologizing for commenting "too much," as you did in that other thread. There is no such thing, when it comes from you! :)

I've been dealing with major life changes for the past few months, but I'm getting settled again now, and should be around more regularly again, soon.

Yes, those are very key points that I always make sure to focus on. I'm a liberal, and a Democrat. Most of my family is... not. To put it kindly. Hyperpartisanship is ultimately our greatest domestic political threat in the US today, as I see it. We're headed towards a sort of Cold Civil War if we don't stop it, soon. If we're not there already, that is...

Thanks for the heads-up on that interview, I'll be waiting for it. Nick Cohen always has a permanent beer tab in Philadelphia, as long as I'm alive. Heh...

    1. Ha, thanks. I heard a few ISES' were looking for me on Kensington Ave the other day, but they stopped to sample a slice from our world's famous Four Sons Pizza, and came back to find nothing but wind-dancing suboxone wrappers and an empty Silver Thunder 40 bottle where they had parked their Toyota. Ha ha, silly terrorists.

I'll be around here more from now on...

  5. Why does stuff like this happen all the time? You know the answer.

"Moments after being called to task for referring to the Israeli victims of the Munich Massacre as “terrorists,” the UK’s Daily Mirror amended its content, a British watchdog group reported on Wednesday.

UK Media Watch noted that an article in the British tabloid on the upcoming documentary film, “Munich 1972 & Beyond” – in which gruesome new details of the torture of the Jewish athletes competing in the 1972 Olympics in Germany — opened with a description of the victims as “terrorists,” and the Palestinians who murdered them in cold blood as belonging to the “militant group” Black September.

These references appeared twice – once in the sub-headline and again in the second paragraph of the piece.

UK Media Watch responded by exposing the egregious “editing error” — or purposeful statement — on social media and by sending a tweet to its author, Sam Webb. The piece was then corrected, leaving in the reference to the terrorists as “militants,” but calling the Israeli victims simply “athletes.”

    1. You should be asking Steve Spielberg and Tony Kushner that question. After all they portrayed the murderers in "Munich" as gentle misunderstood family men. It was the Jews we were supposed to dislike.

  6. From a new poll on the Arab/Israeli conflict, now dubbed the Israel/Palestine conflict.
    (Hat tip/ EoZ)

"Just 15% of Democrats attribute the instability to Palestinian extremism."

Of course polls can only measure what people think, they don't measure what reality is. Besides the fact that I don't actually trust this poll, there is the wider problem that in a democracy when peoples' attitudes and preferences don't line up with reality, you got a real big problem.

A third of Americans support sanctions against Israel

A survey conducted in the US has revealed that 37 percent of Americans support sanctions against Israel as a response to settlement-building. Of those, 27 percent support economic sanctions and 10 percent are in favor of even harsher measures. Among Democratic voters the proportion is even higher, with half supporting sanctions. "

    2. What we need in this country is a pro-Israel administration. While I don't trust the Brookings poll, I believe that to the extent that a portion of the population thinks their ought to sanctions for "settlement expansion" there is a lot of ignorance being fed to people from the top and their media minions. They have been getting a free ride. Imagine a Secretary of State who doesn't blame violence against Jews on the phony claim of massive settlement expansion. Imagine an administration that doesn't trot out State Department spokespeople to tell Americans that the presence of Jews in Judea is illegitimate. Imagine a President who knows that putting "daylight" between the U.S. and its most loyal, democratic, powerful, and dependable ally in the region is the foreign policy of fools. I cannot separate my concern for Israel from my concern for America and my concern for enlightened civilization. For me they are inextricably linked.

      We are willing to share.

It is the Arabs who are not.

    1. Exactly. Look at Trump who one assumes would be the perfect Prez for Israel. Even he is hedging his bets:

"Trump added that he understands if Israel is unwilling to make the sacrifices needed to bring about an agreement.

“A lot will have to do with Israel and whether or not Israel wants to make the deal — whether or not Israel’s willing to sacrifice certain things,” Trump told The Associated Press. “They may not be, and I understand that, and I’m OK with that. But then you’re just not going to have a deal.”
