You don't have to like everything or even agree with anything the EDL says and does. You don't have to like Tommy. But if we all loved one another we would not live in a human society. One does not to defend what everyone loves and wants more of. One must defend what is objectionable and contentious within the rules of engagement in a civil society.
Tommy was arrested for being on a public street talking about a secret trial that no one is allowed to know about. And now the conditions of Tommy's detention are also secret. What next? People talking about Tommy's arrest get arrested too? This something akin to Martial Law. Which I suppose is ok; suspend Parliament, make the PM a dictator, close the press, close the openness of the courts, suspend a thousand years of British law, end the jury system, terminate all articulated civil rights.

The jailing of Tommy Robinson is pretty scary stuff. What I am hearing there is a good chance he won't survive in jail.
