"Palestinians" and BDS

Michael Lumish

Note the use of "Palestinian" in quotes by the creator of the image below.

The reason for this is because he understands that the Arabs who live in the Land of Israel -- which is to say, the land of the Jewish people -- only came into recognizable existence around the time that Paul McCartney was writing "Yesterday."

The people who we call "Palestinians" come from throughout the entire Arab world and that world is a world of conquest by Arabs against non-Arabs. This is not a matter of debate. It is a matter of fact.

It is a matter of known historical knowledge.

Were Israel to be the twenty-third Arab-Muslim state, rather than the lone, sole Jewish state, it would be hailed as the most enlightened country throughout the Middle East. It is only hated by Arabs and their western-left allies because it is the single Jewish state.

Thus, many of us who favor the ongoing well-being of the Jewish people in an entirely hostile world often put the word "Palestinian" in quotes.

It must be understood that the Jewish people, with our history, are under no particular obligation to acknowledge an alleged nation -- the Palestinian Nation -- that was created shortly after Ray Kroc invented McDonald's.

    1. That's what I usually do on your recommendation, but the quotation marks are the most important part for me.

  2. Here I was, about to ask "whatever happened to that Lumish guy," and bingo, here you are. It's to hear from you again. I think we've all missed you. I was thinking that either you were sick of the whole, or that you are working on a grand project.

    You are telling the truth.
    Welcome back.

  3. Sad that so many Jews break bread with people that despise them and will turn on them.

Sometimes people offer no empathy for Jews because Jews themselves often seem to lead the efforts at delegitimization. Now that Democrats are actually starting to eat their own, perhaps more liberals will get woke to what is coming.

    Three Surprising Critics of the
    Anti-Israel BDS Movement
    ***********************************************

[1] Peace Now, one of the Left’s most well-known organizations that never misses an opportunity to harshly criticize the Israeli government, has stated that BDS is tantamount to collective punishment.

[2] Professor Norman Finkelstein, another much-admired voice of the Left, who has made many vicious statements against Israel, has disavowed the BDS campaign and called it: “silliness, childishness, and a lot of leftist posturing.”

[3] Mahmoud Abbas, President of the Palestinian Authority, has denounced the BDS movement. (Will wonders never cease?)

He said: “No, we do not support the boycott of Israel. We do not ask anyone to boycott Israel itself. We have relations with Israel. We have mutual relations with Israel.”

  5. KALI SAYYID SAID:

“Even if Israel ceased to exist, Jordan, Egypt,
Syria and Saudi Arabia would immediately clash
over Palestine. So the end of Israel
does not guarantee a Palestinian state.”

    SOURCE:
The Origins of the Middle East Mess,
a Caspian Report by Kali Sayyid [an Arab],
posted as a 9.5-minute YouTube video,
    published 2012/12/27

    EXPLANATION:

Syria and Jordan would both claim that Palestine belongs to them for historical reasons.

Egyptian control of Palestine would strengthen their hold on both sides of the Suez Canal and help Egypt to become a regional superpower.

Saudi Arabia believes that it is the guardian of Islamic holy places, which gives it reason to control Palestine.

ISIS (the Islamic State) has already revealed that it has no intention of giving the Palestinians their own independent state, even if all Jews would leave Palestine.

Therefore, even if Israel were wiped-off-the-map completely,
the Palestinians would probably NOT get their own state.

Even if the Palestinians did get their own state, nearby Muslim nations would probably try to take it away from them.

  6. BDS Movement refuted by Alan Dershowitz:

“The goal of the BDS movement …
    is to mis-educate students…

The goal of the BDS movement is to mis-educate
a generation of future leaders, by lying to them,
    by demonizing, delegitimizing, discriminating
    against, applying a double-standard to
the nation-state of the Jewish people.”

“BDS is part of a more generalized effort
to destroy the State of Israel…”

    ===================================

Jonathan S. Tobin said this about BDS:

“BDS is not a movement that aims to
    merely criticize Israel’s policies.

Its purpose is the elimination of
the sole Jewish state on the planet.

Its modus operandi is economic warfare,
which given the success of Israel’s economy
means it has been a colossal failure.

Yet its strategic purpose is to legitimize
discrimination against Jews and their state,
as well as to stigmatize and isolate Israel’s
    Jewish supporters.

That is why BDS is not only a form of
    anti-Jewish bias that is indistinguishable
from anti-Semitism, but also provides an
easy explanation for why acts of anti-Semitism
soon follow wherever the movement pops up.”

Hypocrisy of the Anti-Israel BDS Movement
by Mr. Cohen, 2015 June 7
    ***************************************

In year 2012 CE, the U.S. State Department’s
    Trafficking in Persons Report revealed
17 countries that still practice or tolerate slavery:

Algeria, Libya, Syria, Sudan, Kuwait, Iran,
North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Papua New Guinea,
Yemen, Madagascar, Eritrea, Zimbabwe, DR Congo,
Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, and Cuba.

Notice that NONE of these 17 countries
suffers the wrath of the BDS movement, no matter
how guilty they are of practicing slavery.

Also notice that most of these countries are MUSLIM, which means that the Far-Left-dominated news media will NEVER give them even one-tenth of the criticism they deserve, because the Far-Leftists are the loyal allies of the Muslims.

Last but not least, the Far-Left-dominated BDS movement will NEVER target these counties with boycotts, because the Far-Leftists are the loyal allies of the Muslims.

  8. "The people who we call "Palestinians" come from throughout the entire Arab world and that world is a world of conquest by Arabs against non-Arabs."

Are you referring to the 7th century "Palestinians," 19th century "Palestinians," or 20th century "Palestinians?" That is descendants those who came with the initial Arab conquest, of those who were transferred there subsequent to the Ottoman-Egyptian War in the 1830s, of those who came following the first or second Aliya wave, or those who came during the British Mandate.

    1. I would add that the last of those two categories would show that Palestine was a "land without a people" in Hertzl's day. There's a series of maps created by a British survey mission in the 1870s documenting that. I could provide a URL to a blogpost describing that map series later. In the meantime, you can do a search for "630 meters palestine maps british survey."
