  1. Just read an article about the tech powers that are deciding what's good for us. Surprise, it isn't conservative voices. Sad to now live in a place where people are so afraid about opinions. Not very liberal. Free expression is a place where A matter where liberals and progressives diverge.

What makes it even worse is that these decision makers so often get it wrong. They have a skewed view of reality and believe they can control human nature. They can, among their adherents. They live in a place of a singular voice, void of diversity. They are the enemy of the individual.

  2. As long as they aren't banning Muslim hate speech and antisemitism I call BS on them. Of course they wouldn't dare cause they'd by called Islamophobic.

  3. 250 rockets launched into Israel by Hamas and no end in sight. Threats to attack Dimona, Ben Gurion Airport, Ashdod port and Haifa refineries and to "disrupt," Eurovision. How long is Israel prepared to be Hamas' punching bag? I just don't get it. WTF?

  4. Correction....430 rockets. 400 and f**ing 30. Any other country, ONE rocket would suffice for a brutal response. Whatta ya think Trump would do if anyone launched even ONE rocket into the States? 430...I can't wrap my head around it.

  5. For those who don't understand irony, here's an example.

Nancy Pelosi says she is concerned that "Mr. Trump would not give up power voluntarily if he lost re-election by a slim margin next year."

    1. Pelosi can't even admit when her own side loses, you think she'd ever acknowledge a Trump victory?
"Former Democratic gubernatorial candidates Stacey Abrams and Andrew Gillum this week questioned the outcomes of their 2018 gubernatorial races -- suggesting that they, rather than their Republican opponents, should be in the governor seats."

  6. Woo hoo.Israel has resumed targetted assasinations of Hamas leaders.

"Shortly after the IDF announced on Sunday the targeted assassination of a Hamas commander responsible for transferring funds from Iran to Gaza, a security official said that the security cabinet directed the IDF to “intensify the attacks against the terrorist organizations in Gaza."

About time. They killed 2; hopefully more to come.

  7. Will be interesting to see how the new Palestinian Reform and Development Party will fare. They have it right. Creating economic prosperity is what most probably care about, and is likely the most promising way to a Palestinian state.

The so-called Palestinian state has joined the ICC. With regard to the rockets, a grave violation constituting a war crime and crime against humanity, some state party to the treaty needs to step up and make a referral.

Islamic law is the law of the land in Saudi Arabia, and religious officials have tremendous sway over daily life.

Textbooks in Saudi schools denigrate nonbelievers and the West and extol martyrdom.

For example, Time magazine reported that
“an 8th grade book states that Allah cursed Jews and
Christians and turned some of them into apes and pigs.

Ninth-graders learn that Judgment Day will not come
“until the Muslims fight the Jews and kill them.”

A chapter for a 10th-grade class warns Muslims
    against befriending non-Muslims saying,
“It is compulsory for Muslims to be loyal to
each other and consider the infidels their enemy.”

    1. Nope. And if I never hear that Israel hating Obama's name again it will be too soon. He should get honorary Iranian citizenship and a souvenir keffiyeh for all his help in arming Hamas.

  12. "Not One Democrat Presidential Candidate Defended Israel During Rocket Attacks

Not one of the more than 20 candidates for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination in 2020 tweeted this past weekend about the nearly 700 rockets that Palestinian terrorists in Gaza launched against Israel over two days."

Maybe they were all too busy to even notice it. Maybe they all hate Israel. Maybe they were too freaking cowardly to piss off their far left cohorts.

    2. Remember when the progressive Zionist used to extol the virtues of the Democrats as friends of Israel, starting with the number one Democrat of them all? They claimed he was the BFF of Israel, even as he denigrated Netanyahu and interfered in the Israeli election.

What has happened to those voices? Has there been an objection as the Democratic Party becomes the party of Omar and Tlaib and other Jew haters?

    3. Politicians are not "inspirational figures", they are usually scum who want to control your life and get rich while doing it. By any means necessary.
Now that that they've imported enough third world antisemitic trash, and brainwashed college youth into hating Israel, the future does not belong to those who side with the Jews. So no surprises.

    4. Visit the Daily nazi for the latest Subir diary to check out progressive sentiments about the rockets. And remember, "elect more progressives".

    5. That place is dead, a shell of its former self. Sold out for the dough, and became irrelevant and stale, if not self-important. Much like the media. They get rich hating Trump. Hardly ever hear of DKos anymore. The anger and delusional ideas are palpable. That poster is one of many that engage in pollution celebrated in an echo chamber.

Not all politicians are scum. Actually, none are. But they can sure be destructive, and many should be nowhere near power. Like a Beto. How did that happen? It just shows how shallow and easily misled for some to become.

  13. Re: Dem Presidential candidates

I have never seen a more craven group. And when I look at the hysteria coming from them, the Dems in Congress, and the national media, you have something that revels a lot of the worst political/social moments in history. The hysteria alone reminds me of the rise of Nazism.
We are living through a moment when Eric Swalwell isn't even embarrassed to be Eric Swalwell in public. I can't think of one of these people I would consider voting for. It's astounding!

  14. In case you had ny doubt the Dems would avoid becoming America's antisemitic Labour Party:

"An imam who has wished for the end of Zionism, called for a third Intifada and likened Israel to Nazi-era Germany delivered the opening prayer for a session of the U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday."

BTW....here's some interesting thoughts from Greenfield you may find thought provoking:

      "
Since the Left still lacks total control over the United States, it relies on repetition, itself a form of control and stress, to create fear and panic. It makes up for its lack of physical control by bombarding Americans with messages meant to inspire fear, love, hate and guilt through the media, through the educational system, through entertainment and through every possible messaging channel. ......The panic over Trump is a micro-crisis of the sort that leftists detonate in the political opposition, but the fear, anger, terror, stress and violence on display are typical of the crisis mode of fight-or-flight.

The “Resistance” isn’t a political movement. It’s a political cult whose crisis was the 2016 election. Its irrational belief that Trump is a Russian agent is typical of the conspiratorial mindset of cults. Its inability to understand that its convictions are completely irrational show how brainwashing works.

The 2016 election inflicted on its members a loss of control. Trump became the crisis embodying their loss of control. Their fear, guilt and anger induced stress that altered their behavior and beliefs.

And, within the very recent past, millions came to believe that Trump was really working for Moscow. "

It's a great article dealing with leftist brainwashing and it really resonates with me because I have always been a skeptic so I'm (I think) immune to it. That's why when I got to dKos as a kind of Progressive, I realized that the constant antisemitism and magical thinking and conspiracy was rampant and very wrong. I found Mike and a few others who were critical thinkers and before too long we were all kicked out for going against the brainwashing there.

    3. Funny. I was about to read that article but I decided it's too late and I will read it in the morning.
I do find it a little depressing that Mike Lumish has disappeared without explanation, partly for reasons you expressed about him above, and because I miss his writing. That's not to say you're not doing a fine job as keeper of the flame. I appreciate it.
I also miss hearing Trudy chime in. I wish she would drop by.
A short while ago I watched the neat little video you posted.
I never knew about the dKos thing until I got hear. I had been looking at British media for years, introduced to it through UKMediaWatch then known as CiFWatch. I saw Mike's writing at EoZ and found that he seemed to be at where I was at, which led me here. And I'm glad I came.

Israel Thrives became part of my daily routine so I'll continue to post as long as the blog is here or until they cart me away.;)
