JayinPhiladelphia

Still not sure why the 11 Israeli athletes (and the one West German police officer), who were murdered by Palestinian Arab terrorists 40 years ago in Munich, simply for who they were, aren't considered worthy of even one minute of remembrance at this year's games (or any other), but we can still remember them here.

So let's do it.

David Berger
Yosef Gutfreund
Moshe Weinberg
Eliezer Halfin
Marc Slavin
Zeev Friedman
Yosef Romano
Kehat Schorr
Andre Spitzer
Amitzur Shapira
Yaacov Springer

And West German Police Officer Anton Fliegerbauer.

I'll try to write something on each of these men, if I can (even if only a few words), in the coming days.

  2. Y'know, I'm not really sure what to think about this.

I'm on an email list comprised of former contributors to Front Page Mag's "newsreal" blog and Jeff Dunetz of Yid With Lid has a piece up in which he quotes Jim Murray of the Los Angeles Times who wrote in 1972:

Incredibly, they're going on with it. It's almost like having a dance at Dachau.

They went on with it then and now, 40 years later, the committee will not even allow a moment of silence in commemoration.

I honestly do not know what I want to say about this.

I do not even really know that the Olympic Committee is wrong, to be perfectly honest.

But I do know that we should have our moment of silence, so to speak. If they will not commemorate then it is surely our obligation to do so.

If the rest of the world wants to forget what happened, we will not.
