Obama Administration demands release of terrorists

Yuval Bagno at the Jerusalem Post writes:
After the Knesset discussed America’s demand that Israel release terrorists as a good will gesture to the Palestinian Authority on Wednesday, Deputy Minister Ofir Akunis promised that there is no government decision to release the terrorists and that the government is against any such release.

He called for the return to peace talks without pre-conditions while emphasizing that the West Bank is not conquered territory but the birthright of the Jewish nation.

Knesset MK Orit Struk from the Bayit Yehudi party said, “the demand is shocking, not just because the peace talks must begin without preconditions, and not just because of the danger that these terrorists will return to terrorist activity once they are released, but because the release of terrorists is an energizing shot of encouragement to terror and terrorists.”

“Every release like this,” she continued, “causes potential terrorists to make the decision to become one, because they see that they will be given support.”

Struk added, “is the America that is asking Israel to release terrorists the same America that has carried the flag in the struggle against terrorism and who recently experienced the hands of terror in their house?!”
Not a day goes by, I tell you, wherein Obama administration stupidity doesn’t just leap from the page like a drag queen on ecstasy.

So, according to the Jerusalem Post the Obama administration has demanded (requested?) that Israel release a bunch of Jihadis and murderers as a good will gesture to… Jihadis and murderers. For some crazy reason Israel seems to be hedging.

I can’t imagine why? But, then, I can’t imagine that the Obama administration would be as revolting as it is and, yet, still maintain the loyalty of American Jewish “progressives.” I honestly do not know what to say. It’s just shocking. Flabbergasting. Incomprehensible.

Is it even necessary to point out the obvious fact that releasing Jihadis and murderers who seek to kill Jews is maybe not such a great idea? And are we actually to believe that the local Arabs are so oppressed that they refuse to accept even discussing their autonomy unless Israel does things like release Jihadis and murderers?

This is a sick and evil game and if you believe for one second that anything good is going to come from these obviously wrong-headed Obama administration efforts then you’re just a sucker. I have to say, my contempt for this administration has yet to find its ceiling, but the only reason that I even have this contempt is because of their behavior. There’s an idiot on another board, a committed Democrat, that likes to refer to Obama administration critics as people suffering from something that he calls Obama Derangement Syndrome, which is exactly what Bush supporters said about Bush critics. The implication is that one would have to be absolutely crazy to oppose this administration’s policies despite the fact that Obama supports the Muslim Brotherhood, which is the parent organization of both al-Qaeda and Hamas.

I would submit, however, that it is perhaps not in the best interest of the United States, nor the American people, nor our allies, to actually support terrorism and make no mistake, but this administration clearly supports terrorism. I know that some of these Super-Sophisticated Genius Jews will claim that supporting terrorism is not supporting terrorism, but something else entirely, but I would argue that A = A and that supporting terrorism means supporting terrorism.

The Obama administration is telling Israel that you guys must release a bunch of Jihadis and murderers in order to appease the Jihadis and murderers that the Obama administration insists that Israel must negotiate with. This is despite the fact that these same Jihadis and murderers have never accepted a state for themselves in peace next to Israel and have no intention of doing so anytime in the future. The Jihadis and murderers of the Fatah and the PLO, like the Jihadis and murderers of Hamas and like the Jihadis and murderers of Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood and Islamic Jihad and all these various backwards, misogynistic, homophobic, and anti-Semitic organizations, which together ride under the banner of political Islam, are not going to be placated no matter what Israel does.

If you were to line up every single Jewish Israeli and have them, one by one, kiss the naked feet of Muhammed Morsi and Barack Obama, Egypt will still not accept the existence of Israel precisely because Egypt is run by the Brotherhood and the Brotherhood is dedicated to the destruction of Israel and of the west, in general. For Barack Obama, who is the leader of the western world (sort-of… maybe) to demand that Israel release a bunch of Jihadis and murderers as a good-will gesture to Jihadis and murderers is either entirely malicious or simply the very depths of stupidity.

I am going with the very depths of stupidity.

I have all sorts of friends on-line and in the real world who would tell me that the Obama administration is not dumb, not in the least, but that what it is is malicious. I have never believed that Barack Obama is malicious. What I continue to maintain is that Obama is not nearly so intelligent as they always told us he is and that he is heavily influenced by the kind of post-colonial ideology peddled by people such as Rashid Khalidi, Edward Said, and Noam Chomsky. Which it to say, he probably honestly believes that if only Israel would obey his commands then everything will work out better then if you refuse.

All I can say as an American Jew who cares about the well-being of the Jewish State of Israel is that if Barack Obama claims that it’s raining you should feel free to prance in the sunshine with your ponies and unicorns.

As I say, not a day goes by wherein Obama administration stupidity doesn’t just leap from the page like a drag queen on ecstasy.

I wonder what the Stupidity of the Day will be tomorrow?

  1. The silly pseudo pop-psychology constantly engaged in by the place you mention is at least somewhat endearing in its desperation, in a way. That same nonstop, childish name-calling is also why nobody takes it seriously, in my opinion.

Extremism in defense of Obama is no vice, or something like that though, I'm sure...

    1. I think, Jay, that if I were a slave or a dhimmi, like the people that we are talking about, and if I wanted to disagree with you, what I would say would be something along the lines of, "Oh, well, on Israel Thrives Lumish and Bielak claim that some 'progressive Zionists' suffer from Jewish Stockholm Syndrome or what Kenneth Levin calls the Oslo Syndrome."

      Isn't that pseudo pop-psychology?

The answer, of course, is that the theoretician behind behind the "Oslo Syndrome" is a professor of psychology at Harvard University that seeks to offer a partial explanation on how it is that people such as Segall take on the beliefs of their tormentors and enemies.

I don't even know if the "Oslo Syndrome" is valid. I just know that it's a scholarly stab at an explanation for why some Jews have embedded the "Palestinian narrative" into their way of thinking.

Segall has even suggested that Jewish young people in Israel should be taught the "Palestinian narrative" in Israeli schools.

The notion of "Obama Derangement Syndrome," on the other hand, is just made up nonsense used to defame and delegitimize Obama's critics.

It's precisely the same as when Bush supporters would accuse liberals of suffering from "Bush Derangement Syndrome."

      It's pure defamation.

      "

It's extremely juvenile "I'm rubber, you're glue, neener neener" nonsense, is exactly what it is.

That they actually seem proud to have 'turned around' (such a titanic intellectual task that surely must have been, too!) such a childish tactic for their own ends says all that needs to be said about such people.

  2. Agreed fully on the latter. As for the former, I'll just say I've never used the term myself, though your point on that is taken, as well.

Another problem at that site I left is the proprietor's tendency to dehumanize those with whom he disagrees (and not to mention his apparent, hilarious belief that he is some sort of Hunter S. Thompson, despite the fact that your average twelve-year old in rural China stands an even chance to best his score on a generic Basic English Grammar exam) at the drop of a hat.

The only debating 'skill' that person has is defamation, though, so it's certainly not a surprise that he dips into defamation more often than Thomas Jefferson dipped into an inkwell...

    1. The guy is a bully, a hard-left ideologue, and a fool.

And, needless to say, that's fine, if he would simply stay the hell away from me.

    2. Actually, I'd dispute the 'hard-left' thing. He's a hardcore-Democratic ideologue, if anything. He believes only what the mainstream of the Democratic Party believes in any given year, and he'll attempt to smear you to death if you dare take any stance, on any issue, in opposition to that.

That's even worse than a 'hard-left' ideologue, imo. At least the hard-left generally believes in something static.

  3. Jon Segall (aka Volleyboy1) is a bigot and a bully and he thinks that he has the right to tell Jewish people where we may, or may not, be allowed to live.

    How vile is that?

  4. To touch further upon one of the points above, re: pseudo pop-psychology - I would also note that if one were to take a random sample of writings at both places, Oslo Syndrome or any derivative thereof would barely register as a blip in a word cloud here.

Whereas over there, I'd bet that any combination of 'lunatic,' 'fringe,' 'deranged, 'crazy,' and the like, would dominate almost all other words, at all times.

  5. None of youze would have known me well enough back then, I don't think, as at that time I was still mainly blogging about food politics, active transportation issues, and bike races and whatnot.

(though I certainly remember that Karmafish guy who used to blog with us at Ria D's Firefly Dreaming blog ;))

But yeah, I'd like to think I certainly would have signed it, even back then.

  6. (at that time I was even on friendly terms with a Daily Kosser named Lefty Coaster, who even invited me to start a bike blog at Daily Kos with him; of course before I realized he was a vile antisemite, and obviously before I became recognized by his crew as a 'Known Zionist,' heh...)
