Who Flies A Nazi Flag?

Doodad

{Editor's note - I want people to understand that this is sourced to Algemeiner, which is a well-respected pro-Israel journal.  I also want people to understand that this is nothing new.  The Arab residents of Israel supported the German National Socialists during World War II.  This is not a matter of interpretation or of political spin or partisanship.  It is a matter of fact.  Thank you, Doodad. - ML}

Well, Nazis and evidently, now, Palestinians.
A disturbing incident took place Monday morning when Jewish residents of the West Bank villages of Gush Etzion and Kiryat Arba spotted a flag with a swastika flying over the nearby Palestinian Arab town of Beit Omar.
Uri Arnon, who saw the flag, told Tazpit News Agency: “I felt we were going back 75 years, losing our hold on the land. The Arabs no longer feel the need to hide their murderous tendencies, announcing out loud that they wish to destroy us.”
I can't imagine what those nice bunny like Palestinians were thinking. Maybe it was a mirage.

The fact is that WWII never really ended for the Jews of the Middle East.

  2. I see it as a positive. Now we're sure we can deal with them like all the other Nazis. War crimes trials for everyone in the PLO. Divide and occupy all the land. De-nazification all around.

    1. Here's my question for you, Trudy.

If Israel were to do the morally right thing and eliminate Hamas and Fatah - because they are, in fact, something akin to Nazis - could it survive the world wide storm that would castigate and revile that country for daring to actually defeat its enemies?

      I suspect not.

      What do you say.

    2. "...could it survive the world wide storm that would castigate and revile that country for daring to actually defeat its enemies?"

What kind of storm? If it's about words only, then all we need is leaders with a pair. How would it be worse than the usual stuff, anyhow? They've used all the possible verbal ammo ("Zionazis" et cetera) on us already, so what are they going to call us then?

If it's about a physical storm, I still say it's better to die on your feet than live on your knees. And this isn't empty bravado—my life would be on the line in such a situation.

In my opinion, Israel's deference to "world opinion" is, contrary to what the pragmatists think, the factor that endangers her most; it encourages F-class diplomats to humiliate her and terrorists to extort her. A nation without honor invites treading upon. I think both secular pragmatists and religious quietists in Israel, with the same "Don't rock the boat" attitude for different reasons, are doing Jewish honor a great disservice and thereby putting Jewish lives in peril.

    3. Zion,

the question is, what would be the consequences?

      That's the real question.

My suspicion is that if Israel were to do the moral thing and take out Hamas and Fatah that the consequences would be substantial, even devastating.

      Am I wrong?

I hope that I am because Hamas is a fascist organization that calls for the genocide of the Jewish people. It needs to be made to go away.

      But am I wrong?

I do not know. But if Israel were to do the moral thing and take out Hamas, I will do what little that I can do to support your efforts.

      That much is certain.

  3. I think it depends oh how they do it. I am big believer in giving the cannibals everything they scream for. Because they will quickly eat each other. The model of Syria is a good example - tear up only that infrastructure that poses a direct threat to Israel so that the cannibals are forced to build it up again -slowly bleeding them dry. And then occasionally swoop in and use raw force against them. But it has to be carefully managed. After all terrorism and 'asymmetrical' war is a process and organization like any other. They have to pay people, steal things, buy weapons and do all the things 'resistance' have to manage. The key is focusing on the midlevel commanders - the people who control the money, do the recruiting, get the orders from on high and translate them into action plans. In an army it would be the NCO corp and junior commissioned officers. It's cutting the middle out because the groundlings can't function independently and the senior leaders don't get their hands dirty. I think Israel needs to prosecute a fairly dirty war of assassination and counter terrorism that looks very much like terrorism itself. And then let all tribes descend on one another. It's politically the only approach that will work, since Israel can't be seen with a direct hand in it.

  4. Peace partners! We need to sit down and build confidence with these people. Or so I hear...

  5. I'm not surprised. I suspect none of us is. I saw some blog reports a few years ago about young Muslim men and women in London visiting Madame Tussauds to take photographs of themselves beside the Hitler figure. That stuck in the mind. Probably students at British universities. Hitler is hip with these people all over the shop.

  6. The Syrian Ba'ath Party was created by Michel Aflaq based on Nazi principles. The Syrian Socialist Nationalist Party (SSNP) IS A Nazi party.

  8. There is a short piece by Lyn Julius at Daily Beast, which is unique on its own, alas the comments under it are the usual bag of crazy.

    1. Great post.

"Palestinian refugees should be absorbed in the state of Palestine, or campaign for full civil rights in the Arab host countries where most were born."

Fully agreed. And the world really needs to band together, now, to protest Arab abuse of their brothers and sisters who they refuse to grant equal rights to.

Though slavery, institutionalized bigotry and such other things very well may be venerable Arab traditions, it is time for the rest of humanity to drop our soft racism and begin to call them out on such savagery.

      End Arab Apartheid now.

"So throw away that rusty key, Maysoon. This obsession with the past is unhealthy. Get over it. We Jewish refugees did."

  9. I would also point you to another bit from HPM which took time out out of their drudgery to post up this good summary of how to respond to 'right of return'

  10. Norman, we here are not surprised at this at all. Mike and several other posters have wrote about it quite a bit.
