Peace With Palestinians Can Never Happen

Doodad

At least not in this lifetime or many more. The reason is that Palestinian children are taught only to hate Jews but also that the day will come when Israel is no more. Check out PMW's latest post for all those details.

A Palestinian teacher and her school's principal appeared on official PA TV, and the teacher openly expressed the school's educational methodology, teaching students about the anticipated end of Israel. An exhibition at the school featured a map of "Palestine," which included all of Israel and the PA areas, and displayed numerous small ripped Israeli flags and large whole Palestinian flags. The flags represent Israeli sovereignty being replaced by Palestinian sovereignty over all of Israel. To make sure there is no doubt about the meaning, the teacher stressed: "We hope to liberate Palestine." The PA TV host thanked the principal for this quality education of Palestinian children:
If some kind of peace deal was reached tomorrow, it would take many generations for the hate to die out. Just look at American racism against blacks to see what would likely happen. Just look at the Jew/Israel hate in Israel's current erstwhile peace partners. Luckily, Egyptians and Jordanian killers have less access to Jews than Palestinians might have given peace.

Another is the paying of terrorist salaries to killers of Israelis. Abbas et al aren't about to ever give up that practice so the incentive to kill is strong. What Israel takes away in tax revenue, the international community will and does make up in misguided attempts to ease the pain....a wholly self inflicted pain.
Of course I'm preaching to the choir here I know but, hey, talking truth is important.

Consider this also an open thread because I don't mind off topic  stuff as long as it is important to you and us.

  1. Look at me, off topic already. Mueller retired today and spoke. Obviously Dems MUST now impeach Trump on the basis of what he said today and previously. It's a Monkey Trap for Dems. They put their hands in that coconut and now can't let go of the prize to escape the trap. Love it. Impeachment will fail, paint the Dems as a one trick pony and Trump will win in 2020 especially depending on what Barr releases about the alleged coup attempt by the intelligence community and Dem operatives.

    1. Some say the whole Russia thing was a diversion from the abuse of power going back to 2012, when Mueller ran the FBI, when systematic spying went on through access to the NSA database by private contractors in the name of public officials. The information in the database is raw, it is everything. And it was a gross violation of the 4th Amendment. They never imagined they would be exposed. They have much to lose. They are agents of tyranny. Hopefully, people will see through the likes of Brennan, Comey, and even Mueller, who Dershowitz said:

What I saw today was him putting his thumbs on the scale. When he said, “If we had confidence the president DID NOT commit a crime we would have said so.” That was absolutely inappropriate for him to say. It was worse than anything that Comey said when he exonerated Hillary Clinton but then said “but she engaged in criminal conduct.” This is much, much worse. And it does show that he had a motive to help the Democrats.

These people, who pretend to act in virtue and to care, are far worse than Trump. That Republicans don't stand up to the nonsense is very sad. They would probably be rewarded if they showed some courage. At least Clinton and Nixon did something wrong. Trump's enemies can't point to a single crime, yet they search far and wide across the spectrum. Soviet style progressive justice. “If we had confidence the president DID NOT commit a crime we would have said so.” No wonder people see the Democratic Party has lost it's commitment to the Republic.

    2. “If we had confidence the president DID NOT commit a crime we would have said so.”
      "Which crime would that be."
      "We don't know."
"You mean you don't know what crime you don't know he did not commit."
      "That's right."
"But was there a crime committed?"
"We don't know, but if there were a crime, we don't know that the President didn't commit it."
Fortunately, there was a follow-up conference where Mueller and his assistant explained things to everyone's satisfaction here:

    3. Dersh is always on the money;that's why Progressives hate him. I remember when he was a Liberal icon. Now he's a pariah for speaking the truth. People have lost their minds over Trump. Over at dKos etc some STILL think Trump's a Russian agent. Lunatics.

Those are two reasons why Dershowitz is great.

    5. Daily Kos. What a waste of a platform. It is interesting, however, to see how far progressives will go to outdo one another locked in an echo chamber. Some are way out there, some are malign. In either event, they will drown everyone with their singular views and sensibilities, tolerance for me, not thee.

  2. The game the Pal Arabs are playing is to teach exactly what you have shown here, and present all Israel's actions as unacceptable to westerners who will eventually come round to their way of thinking. It's working and it's not.
Israel should insist that the PA education materials be totally scrapped and use a very heavy hand over the educational system in the territories. They should have the opportunity to learn how wonderful Jews are. To deprive them of that and teach what they are now teaching is nothing short of criminal.

  3. Israel needs to hammer out the narrative of Palestinian hate and reward for hate and shame those who fund them to do it. Of course it's hard when so much of the mass media refuses to report it and seemingly takes sides against Israel.

  7. Another thing, from everything I've read, the Russian interference was pretty insignificant at best. Dems of course, push the narrative that it won the election for Trump. Mueller's report only adds to that belief. It's like the Red Scare all over again but this time it's the left doing it. Another example of critical thinking diminishing in today's world.

  10. A friend of my wife's used to use the expression "Until Moshiach comes." In fact, I wrote an essay with that title to express my opinion of the peace process.

It's obvious that the Palestinians don't want a state so much as they want to destroy the only Jewish state. I would rather all peace proposals be put on hold until it is acknowledged that there is a non-negotiable demand, that Israel exist as the Jewish state.

  11. CBS News Chief Legal Correspondent Jan Crawford asked, “You don’t think that they’ve committed treason?”

Barr responded, “Not as a legal matter.”

He added, “[S]ometimes people can convince themselves that what they’re doing is in the higher interest, the better good. They don’t realize that what they’re doing is really antithetical to the democratic system we have.”

If there was an attempt to remove a president by illegal means, even with good intent, would that be treason? Wouldn't such conduct be antithetical not just to democracy, but the country as a whole? Or does it require something that will actually threaten the government?

    1. I think what Barr is getting at is that Treason has specific legal definition:

U.S. Constitution, Article 3, Section 3. Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court

Unless the actors were acting as agents of a foreign enemy, I don't think it can be treason legally. It could be sedition:

Sedition is overt conduct, such as speech and organization, that tends toward insurrection against the established order.

There are probably other laws they broke but I don't know what they are.

  13. I would make that a conditional statement.

As long as this holds, peace with the Palestinians can never happen.

The condition you describe and its role as THE obstacle to peace is spot on. If it takes 100 years to change that condition, then peace will not happen in 100 years. However, if that condition changes in a month, then peace will be possible in a month.

This formulation of the obstacle to peace changes the appearance of our stance on the peace process. With the formulation of "the Palestinians teach liberation of all of Palestine therefore there can be no peace," the appearance is that we are making an excuse to avoid doing anything for peace. With the formulation of "as long as the Palestinians teach liberation of all of Palestine there can be no peace," an option is provided to advance peace by pushing for an end to that practice. We can then say that anyone who tries to advance peace by pressing for Israeli concessions with no change in Palestinian practice is simply exhibiting moral narcissism and doing nothing to actually advance peace.

  14. Good points Sar. Changing the narrative is paramount. Changing the paradigm is also important. Israel has bent over backward since its inception to seek peace but NOTHING Has worked. As I mentioned in my recent post it's time to kill the wolf; ie. insist on changes in changes in Palestinian practices and there are many of them that are unacceptable. Trump has started this process via the Jerusalem Embassy move and other initiatives. Now, Israel needs to run with them;enlarge upon them and free itself from repeating past failures.
