Spinning a Terrorist Into a Victim - Part 1: Who Is Rasmieh Odeh
The video clip beneath this one is where Rasmea Odeh's Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) associate, Aisha Odeh, admits to the murder of two innocent college students because they dared to be Jews living on the historical homeland of the Jewish people.
The enemies of Israel (and, thus, the Jewish people) claim that Rasmea Odeh is as innocent as... day.
They claim that her confession was yanked from her through torture and rape.
But here is the video evidence of her guilt. Her associate admitted to the murder.
Notice, of course, how blasé and pleased with themselves they are chatting about the murder of Jews.
Aisha said this:
"...and finally there was no choice but to engage in armed activity. We had discussions about it. I turned to involvement in armed activity. We carried out an operation in Western Jerusalem on February 22, 1969... We placed two bombs. One bomb exploded and bomb was discovered a few moments before it exploded. Two were killed and 10 were wounded."
Yes, Edward Joffe and Leon Kanner were blown up by people celebrated at Reem's antisemitic restaurant and cafe at the Fruitvale BART Station in Oakland.
And almost nobody gives a shit.

"and finally there was no choice but to engage in armed activity"
ReplyDeleteThere's always a choice but far too many Palestinians chose terror against civilians; a piss poor choice which should turn moral people against them. Instead, many who wrongly think they are moral support the murderous bastards. If you support terrorists you are just as bad, maybe even worse, than they are because you provide oxygen for their horrific acts. Not only that but you are stupid because terrorism is never going to achieve any goal involving peace or a state.
Well, you know what many of our friends on the Left will say, Doodad.
DeleteOne man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter.
The best way to counter that BS is to go straight to 1,300 years of second and third-class non-citizenship under the boot of Arab-Muslim imperial rule by a much larger hostile population.
Throw it directly back in their face on humanitarian grounds.
"...we changed the name from the Arab Nationalist Movement to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine..."
ReplyDeletePresto change-o!
Odeh committed a capital crime. People have been hanged for such crimes.
ReplyDeleteAnd these terrorists and their western want her free to live a life of privilege for fighting Israel on behalf of a faked nation.
She's a feminist hero.
DeleteDumbfounding, ain't it?
btw, you should know that I actually have some optimism on the Reem's story.
There are really only two positions that someone can take on this.
Either Rasmea Odeh is guilty of murder or she is innocent.
We have her co-conspirator - who I do not believe is her sister - crowing about the murders on PA television.
Reem Assil does not have the facts on her side.
What she has is the indifference of American Jews.
If murdering men is a feminist ideal, then she is without a doubt a feminist hero.
DeleteOf course, many of the people maimed by that bomb were not men, and she planted more bombs that were diffused. She was trying to become a mass murderer. She should have been tried and convicted in a military court and hanged for her efforts on behalf of the Arab National Movement which changed its name to "Palestinian" in order to provide a justification to the West for murdering Jews and stealing the land guaranteed the Jews by international treaty and based on historical rights.
Oh, and it's not just a question of her guilt for murder, but lying about her conviction, using aliases, etc., using her presence on U.S. soil to subvert and to continue her Kampf.
DeleteMaking a sham and mockery of US immigration policy on behalf of a known terrorist murderer makes the mural of her into a poster for the Trump Administration.
DeleteWell, another beautiful and cool and cloudy morning here in my perch in the Oakland hills.
DeleteI have to say, to my mind the Reem's story is important because it's highly symbolic.
If the mural of genocidal Jew Hater Rasmea Odeh stays put it means that even violently-inclined antisemitic anti-Zionism is perfectly OK with Bay Area residents.
If, on the other hand, the Bay Area community - not just the Jewish community, but all of us - can find it in our hearts to reject Reem Assil's Jew Hate there may be some hope.
Where's AMCHA on this? Or Hillel? Why doesn't a customer get triggered or why hasn't someone brought a claim that the mural is a violation of human rights and violent, no different than the confederate flag.
ReplyDeleteThe Jewish organizations do not much care.
DeleteWhen they do care, as I am sure that AMCHA does, they also tend to be stretched very thin on resources. AMCHA is basically Tammi Benjamin with maybe a student assistant... I think.
Of course, the bigger organizations cannot get involved because they have more important issues to deal with. Legislative issues. They need to fight BDS in the state houses. There is paperwork to be filed and fundraising galas to attend.
There are 400,000 Jews in the Bay Area, more or less, and my bet is that the vast majority do not have the slightest clue what is staring out at travelers coming and going between SF and the East Bay.
Even the synagogues do not seem interested in raising a fuss.
After all, what's a little incitement to genocide among friends?
Isn't AMCHA able to contact Jewish groups at Bay Area schools and sympathetic temples and others?
DeleteThe idea seems to be a need to make more Jews aware of the matter. Imagine if awareness was doubled.
Calling it incitement to genocide is overstated. What it is is glorifying a terrorist who then lied to become a US Citizen.
Reems is too stupid to see that she may get adulation locally, but she reinforces the larger perception and belief that Palestinians are Odeh.
If they love mass murder then show them mass murder
ReplyDeleteMay I humbly suggest that you change the last sentence of this article to:
ReplyDelete“And almost nobody cares.”
Thank you!
I appreciate and understand where you are coming from and I do thank you for the links. Please keep them coming! But at this point I think that I'll just leave it. Let it represent my state of mind at the moment of writing.
DeleteMr. Cohen, I deleted a few of your comments with the links because they seemed to be repeats.
DeleteWhile you obsess over a restaurant in Oakland which has absolutely no meaning to the rest of the country, actual white nationalists, that is nazi sympathizers, are wandering around the White House. American nazis are thrilled with Bannon and have been finding support for their racist, anti-immigrant stance from Trump. And Sessions thinks that Immigration Act of 1924, which targeted, among others, Jews and which was used to keep Holocaust victims from escaping to America, was a wonderful bill.
ReplyDeleteWhat a revealing comment. The shame of it is you believe you represent a positive force, but you are actually driven by a hatred that is destructive not just to Jews and Western values, but to humanity itself.
DeleteWhat is also revealing is that the comment accused you of obsession without the slightest awareness of the obsession it displays.
DeleteEach day more progressives show how intolerant and filled with hate they are, when the reality is they follow the most corrupt elements of society, who champion people like Sarsour and Odeh, and feel joy from the damage they cause.
Here's the problem, Joseph. You're not a very credible source. You come here it seems to push a kind of childish 'progressive' hysteria. The Nazis are back and they're out to get the Muslims this time. And the Muslims and the Jews must now make common cause in this because we're really natural buddies. (Who couldn't tell?) Kumbaya. And if we don't stop this effort to make America into the 4th Reich we're somehow responsible for the Shoah. It's all a kind of very syrupy dreck.
DeleteI may very well be an idiot, but I live in Rockford, Illinois where we have quite a few Arab, Muslim and Palestinian refugees. I haven't found one who even knows. or cares, who Odeh is. I suppose in Chicago, where she lived, there are some who know who she is, but I guarantee that most simply do not care about her.
ReplyDeleteI apologize for calling you an idiot.
DeleteYou're not an idiot.
But it's a local thing. I cannot allow this to go unanswered or without trying to get people to understand who this woman is and what Reem Assil is promoting with that mural.
Besides, it's galling as hell to walk past that place on a regular basis and it's remarkably frustrating that even the Jewish leadership around here does not much care.
My reaction to you was grounded more in that then in what you've written.
Yeah, right, oldschool, Joseph's Muslims never hoid of her. They are all Sargent Schultz. And if they had somehow gotten wind of her existence and exploits they'd be condemning her left and right. Because Steve Bannon and Jeff Sessions are about to put them in the gas chambers with their best buddies, the Jews. The Mexicans will keep the grounds neat on explicit orders from the Democratic Party and the Chamber of Commerce and then be deported.
DeleteHow do you mean?
ReplyDeleteMake no mistake; this is a war. A war against Israel; ergo, a war against Jews. Trying to make a hero out of a murderous lying terrorist is a skirmish in the larger battle: BDS, Pallywood, Temple Mount, Apartheid, etc etc etc. This must not be allowed to stand in a moral America or even a moral world. Normalizing terrorists is a very very bad thing.
ReplyDeleteYup. To put up a mural of Rasmea Odeh is the functional equivalent of putting up a giant swastika. The message delivered to Jewish people is identical.
DeleteYou can't put up the swastika, but you can put up a portrait of Odeh, just as you can have a mural of Edward Said, another violent antisemite.
DeleteI still cannot quite get over that mural of Said at SFSU.
DeleteWhat Joseph doesn't seem to get is that these are like little cultural markers that convey the acceptability of violent prejudice against our own people and our own children.

The Jewish "leadership" generally sees the fight in political terms.
What I think is that the political fight is hugely important but we make a terrible mistake in not addressing the cultural spread of toxic anti-Zionism.
Bingo!
Delete" I live in Rockford, Illinois where we have quite a few Arab, Muslim and Palestinian refugees. I haven't found one who even knows. or cares, who Odeh is. "
ReplyDeleteThey're too busy screaming for another holocaust themselves
..to concern themselves with other people screaming for another holocaust....
BTW the Illinois Nazis - who are or were avidly supported by gay Jew Glenn Greenwald are, like him, vaguely left wing or at least left wing anarchists.
Don't know why they are so obsessed with Israel and the all that "nonviolence" against "apartheid" coming from "Palestinian civil society," except that when these guys get going, the actual meaning of words is always the first casualty.
ReplyDeleteBut why busy themselves with this when they can be crowing about the great job they've done with Venezuela, once the wealthiest country in South America where "democratic socialism" has people now standing in line to eat garbage where they then can't find, no less afford toilet paper to deal with the resulting waste of the waste. Why nick pick others when you can show the world the outstanding results of your own program?

ReplyDelete"One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter "
ReplyDeleteIf I'm ever charged with murder I want that man on my jury.
It's pretty sick that images of murderous haters like Rancid Odor are going up at the same time cities are freneticly removing historic statues - in many cases of non-murderers - that have served to tell the story of America. What kind of ignorant and unaesthetic society are we heading toward?
