The world was shocked recently when black Nascar driver Bubba Wallace found a noose in his assigned garage. Obviously the work of racists; something found in abundance in the Confederate flag waving Nascar crowd. The other drivers, indeed the world at large stood in solidarity with Bubba.
Trouble is, the FBI investigation showed the "noose," was just a garage door puller that had been there since long before Bubba arrived in that particular stall. Oopsy!
Bubba however is having none of it and has doubled down.
“I’ve been racing all of my life,” Wallace, the racing circuit's only Black driver, told "CNN Tonight" anchor Don Lemon. “We've raced out of hundreds of garages that never had garage pulls like that. So people that want to call it a garage pull and put out all the videos and photos of knots being as their evidence, go ahead, but from the evidence that we have – and I have – it’s a straight-up noose.”Brings to mind that old saying," When all you have is a hammer, everything's a nail."
Wallace also said he hadn't seen the noose personally, but had seen photos of it.
"Whether tied in 2019 or whatever, it was a noose," he noted. "So, it wasn't directed at me but somebody tied a noose. That's what I'm saying."
edited to add: Randall is right. Bubba didn't report it originally, Nascar did. Bubba simply rode the wave then doubled down.
2nd edit: to his credit, Wallace has issued this statement

ReplyDeleteGreenfield has a great take on it.
Marcus Garvey: so racist.
DeleteDoes Marcus Garvey Park need to have its name changed, or should it simply be burned to the ground?
Ask Andrew Cuomo what to do.

Delete1) It's a noose.
Delete2) Bubba didn't originally report it; NASCAR did.
Educate yourself.

Once again, too much pontification and not enough observation.
Delete1) It's a noose. The picture makes that clear.
2) Again, Bubba didn't originally report it; NASCAR did.
3) Don Lemon is just the host, not the issue.
4) I made no accusations of racism against anyone.
Way too narrative, not at all attentive.
It's an "noose" in the Orwellian sense.
DeleteBubba rode it without knowing, apparently.
Lemon cannot be defended, host or issue, from spreading hoax.
Why did you link to CNN and Lemon anyway?
A noose? But not a real noose, is it? A rope with a small hand-size loop is a handle. While the knot might be legitimately referred to as a "noose" (not sure), calling it one seems a bit pedantic, IMV.
DeleteBut that's the racism hysteria and SJW's generally: No real historical knowledge, little to no objectivity, way too much pedantry.
Who are the racists again?
Deletehttps://twitter.com/SenatorTimScott/status/1275821000014389250
It's not a noose. A noose has a slip knot or ring that tightens with pressure. Any serious racist would have no difficulty tying a hangnan's noose.
DeleteCarlson is on the mark tonight. These SJW are the dumbest of the dumb. Abolitionist is a rock band from the 80's. For all their education, they actually don't know squat, unless it is some politically correct meme. They are the most easily manipulated to believe anything. Thank you Nancy ('Trying to get away with murder') Pelosi. Imagining these people in charge creates the sweats. Keith Ellison as US AG? In other words, the manipulated are led by the worst intentioned. The actual racists are those who scream racism.
ReplyDeleteThe NASCAR fiasco is a great example. Many people with sense had suspicions it was a hoax. Express that, however, and the mob descends.
It matters not the underlying issue to these privileged Neanderthals. Sometimes they appear here to lecture in support of their illiberalism. As the UDHR crumbles and they become more authoritarian, and one day human rights will be gone, and no one can challenge the lunacy of their ideas applied in the real world.
The segment on white fragility also. Scary stuff from scary people. The damage they have created will take a very long time to repair. Hopefully, it won't emulate those experiences that caused immense human suffering.
DeleteI'm not optimistic. They are indeed well-funded and have power in all the right places. If people would only stand up.
DeleteA thousand mile journey begins with one step, no?
But yes, Carlson is right on it. We all see what is going on here. I've been watching this thing morph for 30 years. I reacted slowly and now, boom, it's here. Scary is right.

ReplyDeleteIt WAS a door pull, Randall. It was in that stall since 2019 and appears in most of the stalls. It became a "noose," when someone paired it with the only black Nascar driver. Funny how that works. Well, not really. Those of us paying attention get it. Those enthralled by the narrative see "nooses."
ReplyDelete"“If this country doesn’t give us what we want, then we will burn down this system and replace it.. I could be speaking figuratively. I could be speaking literally. It’s a matter of interpretation.” said Black Lives Matter greater New York Chair Hawk Newsome.

I wonder if 15 FBI agents will be sent to investigate this guy and BLM? I wonder if they would even dare in this climate.
I just came upon this:

Anyone notice (that's "observe" for some) how the meaning of "white supremacism" has now expanded to mean any and all ideas of Western Civilization? I saw a blurb last night that in K-12 NYC schools children are being taught that concepts such as "individualism" are "white supremacist." If true, I wouldn't be surprised. But the implication is that objection to such comes from the indigenous cultures of people o' color is also deceptive, to put it mildly. This is just vaguely disguised anti-capitalist talk from the usual "cis-euro" sources we've known for over 150 years. They never stop. Just when you think Socialism is dead and buried it comes back up like a bad meal. Or like a bad religion.
ReplyDeleteHere's what I received this morning from Melanie Phillips about Barack Obama's re-entry into our national 'conversation':
https://www.melaniephillips.com/obama-anarchy-mob-great-awakening/
When you follow the link to the article you will see that Obama & Co. have big things planned by noticing that on the very same page there is an ad inviting us to "Thank Obama." That's right, folks. He's not done! Feeling lucky?

DeleteThis is something new: A former president coming back to take charge of defeating the re-election of his successor.
Is there any doubt that Obama & Co. are trying to reinstall his ugly anti-Western, anti-American, anti-Israel regime?
The antisemitic motherfucker is back.

Where are all the progressive Zionists in the face of the BLM charade and the overt antisemitism in their midst? The silence is deafening. All bow to BLM. Hands up, don't shoot. Is that now their credo?
DeleteBasing your freedom and equality on hatred of white people and all they stand for is not really a good start, IMO. But it sells among the Marxists and Media dying for a blood bath to increase readership.
