White Supremacist Bullshit

Michael Lumish

Essentially, "white supremacism" in the US today is a political ghost.

What saddens me the most, I think, is the failure of the American Left - the children of Martin Luther King, Jr. - to accept their own success.

The US, today, is entirely different from when Martin Luther King stood on the Mall in Washington, DC, in 1963.

Instead of embracing ethnic equality, we seem to be agitating ethnic resentments for partisan political reasons or reasons having to do with whatever consolation that comes from personal virtue signaling.

This social-political trend is not coming from the political right-wing so much as it is coming from the racialized American Left.

I come out of the American Left, but the US Left is doing itself and the country a terrible disservice by continuing to agitate racial issues for political purposes.

It is pure poison.

  1. One of the worst racial agitators of all time -- the Reverend Al Sharpton -- was an official partner of the Obama administration. Al Sharpton's career thrived on racial conflict, and he caused the deaths of innocent people at least twice.

  2. government and society has done what can reasonably be expect to make up for past treatment of the blacks. Now its up to the blacks themselves to stop whining, and start behaving if they want to make progress. They need to stop being the crime leaders, start speaking correctly, dressing normally (like not always wearing hoodies when its not raining; it makes people think they're concealing themselves), etc.

    1. Ashish, your argument is both verboten and, yet, goes to the heart of the matter.

The default position among most, particularly on the Left, as I was growing up - and still to this day - is that the problem is "systemic." It is political, social, and embedded in "white" capitalism.

What you are suggesting, on the other hand, is that cultures and peoples and societies actually have agency and are not the mere pawns of malicious systems of power.

You are trying to devictimize the alleged victims.

You are trying to claim that everything is not always and forever the fault of the White Man or the Wealthy Man or the "Zionist."

You are trying to suggest that sometimes poverty-stricken cultures hold some responsibility for themselves.

      {Shame on you!}

  3. That we have made enormous progress does not mean we have reached the finish line. And Bill Belichick is not black.

    1. "And Bill Belichick is not black."
      And neither are you.

    2. Joseph, there is no finish line.

The hope for a "finish line" is a political whip.

  4. Once they kill off the white people they will kill off the men. Then anyone not LGBTQ and then I guess whomever's left.

  5. The concept of "racism" as used today demeans and trivializes the experiences of those that suffered most at its hands, and who complained the least. To hear the howls of Ivy Leaguers and the like, already elites, one would think it's worse than the Middle Passage.

    1. thats because if the left had to admit that racism ain't what it once was, they'd have no reason to exist.

  6. Leftists love to accuse people of racism, because doing so elevates their own personal status or prestige among their fellow leftists.

  7. If it works so well for the Palestinians, why won't it work for everyone else today? Scream, riot and insist that you are the victim and that the world owes you everything.
