"The Goop and Feathers Strategy"

Michael Lumish

{Also published at The Jewish Press and Jews Down Under.}

Islamists set fire to Israel
near the Gaza border (June 2018)
Those of us who follow the never-ending Long Arab and Muslim War against the Jews of the Middle East are familiar with the arson tactics used by contemporary Palestinian-Arab Islamist racists.

Therefore it is not surprising that the European Union (EU) and the United Nations (UN) and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Democratic Party and, thus, the Western media, itself, generally favor Arab and Muslim aggressors over the Jewish defenders within the very land of Jewish heritage and ancestry.

This alliance also includes significant percentages of western-left Jews who either do not care or who have swallowed the Palestinian Narrative of Perpetual Victimhood.

But the essential discussion today among Jews internationally is how to respond to what might be called the Arson Intifada.

Many on the Israeli Left, and the American Left, want to see a more "moderate" response by the Jewish people in Israel. Nonetheless, it eludes me just how much more "moderate" Israel can be as theocratically-driven Arabs burn the very crops that feed Gazan children and burn animals alive in nature preserves.

One of my well-meaning commenters suggested:
Fight fire with water, not live bullets.
He is, of course, referring to the jihadis killed when they sought to crash-the-gate and murder or kidnap Jewish civilians living in nearby communities and kibbutzim. One of the things that continues to amaze me is the complacency and understanding that so many of our friends on the progressive-left have for the Arab desire to murder Jews.

It's pretty astonishing, actually.

Arabs try to kill Jews on the very land of Jewish ancestry and well-meaning western "progressives" honestly believe that they have a right to do so... as a matter of "social justice." This is what slays me most of all. Much of the progressive-left in the United States genuinely believe that Arabs have every moral right to kill Jews or, at least, they understand the impulse.

What I would like, therefore, to recommend to Benjamin Netanyahu and the IDF is the Goop and Feathers Strategy.

The border between Israel and the maniacs is about 35 miles long. As a Jewish American citizen living on this terrific expanse of land, thirty-five miles does not seem like a very long distance. I understand that Jewish resources are not as extensive as what Americans can conjure, but surely Israel can patrol the Gaza border with helicopters.

So, why not humiliate the bastards?

What would CNN say about splashing goop, feathers, and Fruit Loops onto these idiots with their
Swastika Nazi Bomb Kites? This is merely a pet idea that, of course, is never going to happen... sadly.

Nonetheless, those of us who honestly care about the well-being of the Jewish people should be creative.

Water extinguishes fire better than bullets. My commenter is right about that.

And bullets deter racist-arsonists better than does water.

But Goop and Feathers will make them look like morons and that, my friends, is priceless.

{I, actually, just want to see the video.}

    1. How about Goop Bombs delivered into the homes of Hamas leadership?

Y'know, the doorbell rings and the voice on the other side says, "Candygram for Mongo!" and then BOOM goop and feathers and Fruit Loops everywhere.

      {I crack myself up.}

    2. Hi Mike.

Rest assured that Hamas would make sure some kids 'smothered to death' in the feathers, goop and fruit loops.

Here's what I think would be a far better idea.

Israel should have the Tzahal strike ad clear an area five-ten miles away from the border fence. Then plant mines and signs in Arabic warning that the area past this point is mined. It would change little in the UN, but the Arabs who are killed would have little practical cause for complaining.

The incendiary kites, etc. could be dealt with by air attacks and by destroying Gaza infrastructure in return. That too would not change ant-Israel stances especially in the EU but would extract enough of a price so as to make such attacks not worthwhile.

India mined the Kashmir and Jamu borders with Pakistan after several terrorist attacks. The mines worked just fine.

Israel might also simply cut off Gaza's water and electricity. Fun fact: an AP story I saw made much about the crisi is Gaza due to only having a few hours of electricity a day. OOOOH the humanity!

Of course, the article didn't mention that the reason was because a Hamas missile had accidentally hit one of the main towers supplying electricity to Gaza...

My point is twofold. First, the best defense is a good offence. And second, since Israel is going to be blamed regardless, there's no sense in the Jews continual quest to have people like them, no matter what cost to the Jews themselves.

      B'Shalom,
      Rob Miller

  2. "And bullets deter racist-arsonists better than does water."

They can also stop a racist-arsonist who is prepping an arson kite from finishing his task thus preventing the kite from getting released. Water can provide a pound of cure if the kite goes off, but bullets can provide the ounce of prevention that keeps the kite from going off.

  3. The kite-arsonists are keenly aware of humiliating Israel with inexpensive, extremely destructive tactics (far better than car-rammings for example!) .... So I hope someone finds a way to implement this idea of goop and feathers ... or whatever would create so much ridicule that it would be impossible to recover self-respect.

And failing that, then, yes, bullets are the best option.

  4. Dear Michael Lumish and all particpants of this blog,

    This thought bothers me:

Michael Lumish and all the commentors who particpate in this blog have spent many hours on this blog.

But is there any evidence that Michael Lumish's efforts on this blog have ever accomplished anything?

Is there any evidence that my efforts on this blog have ever accomplished anything? Is so, then what?

Is there any evidence that anyone's efforts on this blog have ever accomplished anything? Is so, then what?

    1. I remember Michael himself expressing the same sentiment.

My answer is that the this blog and your efforts can send out ripples in ways you might not be aware of.

For example, this is where I learned about the Reem's story, and it figures prominently in a novel I'm working on. I've also saved some of your links to articles to help me in this project.

    2. Mr. Cohen, it is all about the conversation and, as Edward says, the "ripples."

I do not overestimate our influence.

This is a small blog and its political effect is likewise small, but we can influence trends simply by discussing them among ourselves and others beyond this space.

For example, I consider the fact of Jewish indigeneity to the Land of Israel as a key to the discussion. So do others like Ryan Bellerose and Dani Behan over at the Progressive Zionism FB page with its thousands of followers.

But the point is not merely to influence general politics, but to provide a space for thought on the issues that matter to us, a place for the consideration of ideas.

That's what it is for me.

Israel Thrives is home territory. It will never change the world or, somehow, elimiate the long war against the Jews in the Middle East. But it provides a place for conversation and consideration and sometimes the tendrils of those thoughts make their way into the larger world.

In any case, for me Israel Thrives represents home fires burning.

  6. Nothing says "I'm a Nazi" like painting swastikas on your paraphernalia. "Therefore it is not surprising that the European Union (EU) and the United Nations (UN) and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Democratic Party and, thus, the Western media, itself," take pains not to notice it.

I like the goop and feathers idea, but the international "community" will see it as a way of "dehumanizing" 'palestinians' as if Israel has beaten the 'palestinian' leadership and the Arab states to it. Do it anyway. They dig being humiliated the way Europeans and other "pro-'palestinians'" get off on dead baby porn.
Of course, the IDF could terminate members of the Hamas leadership with "extreme prejudice." That usually seems to work.

Blatantly racist or anti-Semitic ideology should never be permitted on the grounds of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, or anywhere else in in our province. Our government will take action to ensure that events like Al Quds Day, which calls for the killing of an entire civilian population in Israel, are no longer part of the landscape in Ontario.

    1. I suspect there are some on the left who would like to say it but aren't allowed.
They get around this by being assured that Israel's government is mean, although this is also not a good excuse for wiping out a civilian population. And that's where antisemitism comes into play.

I have a vision of me telling DeNiro how I really enjoy his films, a la Tom Hagen in the Godfather. :0)
