This Week on Nothing Left

Michael Lumish

Nothing Left
This week Michael Burd and Alan Freedman are delighted to have a very special studio guest in Edwin Black who is leading a campaign to have the United Nations replaced by a new organisation called the Covenant of Democratic Nations. (We would also like to acknowledge the Zionist Federation of Australia for making his available to Nothing Left.)

We also hear from Smadar Pery, an Israeli advocate living in Berlin who has some troubling observations about Jewish life in Germany, and Isi Leibler joins us as usual from Jerusalem.

1 min         Edwin Black, on Covenant of Democratic Nations

51 min         Smadar Pery, Berlin (Part 1)

1 hr 4 min Smadar Pery, Berlin (Part 2)

    1. Oh my God.

The next few days should prove very interesting.

But what I want is for Trump to come out with Netanyahu and say something like, "Folks, we are going to move the embassy to Jerusalem and it's going to be great. Believe me. It will be a great, great embassy. This is going to be an embassy... believe me... like you've never seen before."

If that actually does happen, tho, I will be flabbergasted and amazed.

Although, I have to say, "Muslimstinians"?

      Ermmm...

      Is that like "Heebraelis"?

    2. I think you've got Trump down. lol
The embassy will be very great. Very, very great.

    1. Well, you know, that's thing. David Duke has been doing the same schtick for forty years, i.e., pretend someone's agenda is actually his agenda to try and make it seem that he's a rising political star and the country is with him.

Don't expect the left, the Democrats or CNN/MSNBC to make a peep about his endorsement of Keith Ellison.

    2. Like they did with Trump? Not a chance.

  4. Shark has been jumped.

"Representative Eric Swalwell of California, the lead Democrat on the C.I.A. subcommittee of the House Intelligence Committee, was blunt: “For the sake of our nation’s future, our intelligence and law enforcement community must determine whether Donald Trump’s loyalties lie with us or with the Russians.”

    1. On the other hand, the fact that WE know about Flynn's conversations at all is a bigger problem within the intelligence community. This was a leak at the highest levels of the agencies and given the general sense that the staff held over from Obama are openly in revolt, this could constitute an actual act of treason. I suspect that President Trump will be forced to clean house of all Obama era staffers wherever possible. And since this happened under Obama by an administration on the way out the door, prison sentences would be in order.

    2. It's what police states do. But the left will call it heroic whistleblowing.

  5. Regarding Flynn, they did the right thing to can him so quickly. What more can you ask? Would that have resulted under Obama? Does Susan Rice come to mind?

Generally, the Administration is filled with very competent novices. They will learn the ropes, but it's clear they will not be allowed by some. The world is not going to end. The incoming is relentless. But many people seem attuned and Democrats further distance themselves from what people care about as they baldly attempt to destroy a presidency that is only 3 weeks old.

It seems odd so many have concluded they must play a zero sum game when it comes to President Trump and what his effect will be, rather than allow matters to unfold. If only people actually had such predictive powers. Vegas would be awash with winners.

    1. Flynn's tenure as the head of the DIA under Obama was equally contentious. He was a terrible manager, divisive and often went outside his scope of responsibility. It was often stated that he was forced out of the DIA for political reasons for differing with Obama on risks from terrorism. But that was only one of many reasons they had to toss him. It's a bit odd he was selected in the first place.

    2. It might have had something to do with him supporting Trump early on.
      Ya think, just maybe? hmm?

    3. Flynn blew it. Maybe the next one will be better.

It's clear that Democrats have become what they preach against.

McConnell's "one term" statement is often used to illustrate the hate for Obama. It was not made until October, 2010, 2 YEARS in to Obama's presidency. It was related to the mid-terms and follow up to 2012.

How is that related to what takes place now, less than a month into Trump's presidency, starting with the boycott of the inauguration itself. Now comes the activists scary and dangerous behavior, including violence. Who are the fascists again?

It is amazing to see the level that Democrats are going to show they are not democrats. Remember when they admonished Trump before the election about accepting the results?

      Prager's piece says it well.

      http://www.truthrevolt.org/commentary/prager-note-left-four-years-ago-conservatives-were-just-depressed

So why are Democrats so out of it that they would trade in the Constitution for its shadow?

  7. Trump is emphatically NOT Hitler.

True, he may be a Nazi Zombie of some sort.

    Or, Cthulhu, maybe.

    I still haven't decided.

  8. lol Mike. Dontcha know this is the age of "Everyone I don't like is Hitler?"" I read it on the fake news.

  9. What is going on is in fact quite dangerous. Great effort is being made to portray Mr. Trump as a traitor whom we are allowed to depose by any means necessary. I'm not in love with the guy, but SSFF! I am terrified for the stability of the United States of America. It's the only country I have and damn if I want it turned into subversive Obamaland. It's about time some ex-presidents started speaking up and tell Mr. Obama to get the hell out of Washington. You are not Mahmoud Abbas. Your term really is up. And let's finally face it, you are not the typical American boy from a typical American town. If you can't control your own subversive impulses at least go do it in Europe. You'll fit right in.

  10. Mike,
Trump is not Hitler. Mike, Doodad, are either of you Hitler? I'm not Hitler. Good we're narrowing down the list of who is Hitler. Perhaps Thomas Friedman is Hitler. Someone should at least ask him.

Wow I'm disappointed. I really use to respect this guy at dKos. I have resisted the fear meme surrounding all this but geeze, now I'm afraid somewhat that people I respect/respected are going nuts (including many close to me who, being Canadians really don't have anything to fear in the long run.)

    2. I no longer know what antisemitism is. Supporting BDS, denying Jews the right to live in Judea, cheering for Hamas is not antisemitic. Donating money to a settlement yeshiva, supporting Israel, and having Jewish grandkids
apparently is. I think I should become an antisemite.
