  1. Yo. Jay is back in the house, as they say.

I see I've got some catching up to do here!

    That's what the weekend's for, I suppose. ;)

Think I'm probably hopping the Broad Street subway down to South Philly tomorrow to watch a (free!) Flyers practice.

My Man Chip Kelly's Eagles are very intriguing!

The Phillies are long out of it, but they don't suck right now, and I have reason to believe they'll compete again soon.

The Sixers are gonna lose 66 games this year, but it's by design and I completely support the tank. There's simply no other option after a decade of mistakes. Clear the slate. Play our cards right, though (two very likely lottery picks in the loaded 2014 draft class, and a shitload of cap space), and we'll be contenders within three years...

    1. The Giants are in the toilet.

It's sad, really, but I suppose that I won't go throwing myself off of the Golden Gate Bridge.

And do you know what's even worse? Brian Wilson, of Fear the Beard Fame, has gone to the Dodgers.

      The Dodgers!

      Fate is fickle.

Anyway, glad to see you back in the house, my man.

      Cheers!

    2. Thanks, bro. Also, something to keep in mind - our respective baseball teams may no longer be in the hunt, but we're both champions simply for living in the cities that we do, at least in my opinion. ;)

As for the postseason, I'm gonna be pulling for the A's. They're originally from Philadelphia, after all, and Shibe Park / Connie Mack Stadium was quite literally just down the street from me (okay, a couple miles, but still) at 21st & Lehigh.

It's gone now, though, of course. In the future, folks are gonna wonder what ever possessed us to knock down beautiful structures and historical spots for strip malls and parking lots.

Nobody will ever have an answer for that, or at least not a defensible one.

  2. A Guns-N-Roses jukebox block (Patience on currently) and a Philadelphia Brewing Company Kenzinger. A great start to the weekend!
