Open Thread Friday

Hope ya'll had a great holiday. There is much to talk about, so have at it! Inquiring minds wanna know if you think you are living in a dictatorship after Trump's tank and jet fighter July 4th.

  1. "Hello Martyr, Hello Fatah." Palestinian summer camp.

  2. Jonathan S. Tobin is editor in chief of JNS:

When The New York Times decided to give the Democratic presidential candidates a chance to answer 18 policy questions in a video essay, the only one that touched on the Middle East went as follows:

“Do you think Israel meets inter-
    national standards of human rights?”

That question summed up the anti-Israel bias of the so-called newspaper of record as well as anything it has ever published.

Considering the scores of nations with egregious human-rights records and the presence in Israel’s immediate proximity to many of them, it speaks volumes about the obsessive nature of the paper’s prejudice that the only query it would ask about was the one country in the region that is a democracy and respects human rights.

    carrot-and-stick approach to Israel

  3. Nikki Haley (former USA Ambassador
    to the United Nations):

    “The number of actual Palestinian
    refugees is classified.

    There are multiple people working
    to get it unclassified.”

we make Israel, the safer we make the world

  4. I saw that Mr Cohen it is despicable on the part of the NYT.

  5. Alexander H. Joffe [a Middle East Historian] said:

Similarly, neo-Nazis in Germany have begun using the phrase “Israel is our misfortune,” a sentiment that converges with the German [Leftist] Green Party’s explicit support for BDS. The crossover between the two streams was seen recently when a founder of the Green Party spoke at a neo-Nazi event.

Organizations and K-12 by Alexander Joffe, 2019 July 2

    1. I think a lot of Europeans see Germany as their misfortune.

  6. “As Israeli NGO Palestinian Media Watch has documented, P.A. [Palestinian Authority] leaders are backing the decision to continue payments to terrorists and their families, even if it comes at the expense of ordinary, law-abiding Palestinian citizens.”

    SOURCE: As world leaders
    gathered in Bahrain, PA continued
    to prioritize ‘pay for slay’

  7. “…as a rule, religious Jews are more committed
to Jewish survival. One recent example:

During the height of the Palestinian terror,
    while secular Jewish organizations cancelled
their youth trips to Israel, the Orthodox did not.

  8. Former prime minister Ehud Barak on Saturday announced the name of his new party — Democratic Israel . That's like what, 2000 parties in Israel? What do they think they are, Democratic Presidential candidates?

Israel really needs to overhaul its politics so one Party can achieve a majority and thus get stuff done. IMO anyway. Course maybe that's not what Israelis want I suppose.

    1. The factions, of course, wouldn't want that, but you are right. What can I say, I'm an American, I think they should have district voting.

  9. "Approximately 5,000 Palestinians rioted at three locations on the Israel-Gaza Strip border on Friday, hurling rocks, firebombs and explosive devices at IDF troops."

Over a year this crap has been going on. You know why, right? Because they don't fear Israel anymore. Few pay a price, and those that do get life time payments for themselves and/or their families.from their leaders. Ending it will require nastiness Israel is not prepared to engage in anymore. So it will never end.

    1. Dear Doodad,

Your quote is a good quote.

It would be more useful if it included source information, for example: Who said it? When? Where?

Also, I plead with you to avoid bad language, especially in public -- for example, this blog.

Most secular Jews consider bad language to be harmless; that is a big mistake!

To make a long story short, I have studied the topic of bad language, and I promise you that it causes greater harm than you can imagine.

      Mr. Cohen

  10. The dirtbag left. It all confuses me a bit but maybe some of you can figger it out.

  11. Interesting quip from Charlie Kirk. So many people hate America, the most evil, yet somehow stay.

  12. Ken Cohen [editor of Facts and Logic
about the Middle East (FLAME)] said:

Last year, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed
bin Salman reportedly stated in a closed-door
    meeting that “Palestinians should accept
peace or shut up and stop complaining.”

    Mr. John Rossomando said:

“[IUMS Trustee Sheikh Hassan Ould] Aldo and the [Muslim] Brotherhood use language similar to what Hamas used in its original charter, which rejected any peaceful coexistence. To them, Palestine is part of a waqf, a holy Islamic trust, that no person can negotiate away.”

  13. Mr. Yaakov Lappin [a military and
    strategic affairs correspondent] said:

“An Iranian network of terrorist cells is spread out around the world, ready for activation at any time….”
    ................................................. .........................
“The Iranians have built up a wide-reaching network of radical surrogates that extends beyond the Middle East. Members of this network range from hierarchical terror armies like Hezbollah, armed with massive arsenals of projectiles, to sleeper terrorist cells active in Europe, North America, and Latin America.”
    ................................................. .........................
“This would explain the discovery and recent announcement of a Hezbollah bomb factory in London. It appears highly likely that the bombs were intended for Hezbollah cells intent on attacking Israeli targets in Britain.”
    ................................................. .........................
“Past incidents have seen [Iran-backed] Hezbollah operatives scope out Israeli targets in countries as far away as Peru.”

Iran Is Preparing a Worldwide Terror Network
by Mr. Yaakov Lappin by 2019 July 3

  14. "Palestine is part of a waqf, a holy Islamic trust, that no person can negotiate away."

This what all the peacemakers ignore. Destruction of all these types would free up secular "Palestinians," to make peace. Destruction or banishment. Destruction is better but the international community will go "boo hoo Israel bad."

    1. Jewish indigeneity is key to the argument.

  15. "On Sunday, Netanyahu tweeted that, “A new study of DNA recovered from an ancient Philistine site in the Israeli city of Ashkelon confirms what we know from the Bible – that the origin of the Philistines is in southern Europe,” quoting research released last week by the Leon Levy Expedition to Ashkelon, which revealed that the ancient people most known for their biblical conflict with the Israelites were immigrants to the region in the 12th century BCE."

This science will mean nothing to Jew haters of course.

    1. No, the anti-Israel brigades will deny, deflect, change goal posts, pretend that heavy doses of Palestinian propaganda to the contrary don't exist, etc.
Their biggest problem is facts, which they have been successfully dodging for decades.

  16. A man rings 999.

‘Hello? Is that Emergency Services? Yes, hello. My wife is nine months pregnant. About fifteen minutes ago she suddenly began screaming and shouting about the undue influence that Jews have over British life. What on earth is happening?’

‘Don’t worry, Sir. It just means she’s now in Labour.’

  17. Still hate the Yanks, but...

  18. Trump is a #$#$%$&%%&^T&GHBG&^R&GGUHBJHFYRFUGBJHBJKHN!!!!!!

And with that I announce my candidacy for POTUS.

  19. Ahhhh Rashida. Such a bigot you are.

Your right to open your mouth and show your bigotry is secure. What are you complaining about. BDS is discrimination, and is not entitled to the same right. It does represent the same hatred as you. Reminds of the same antipathy seen in places like Little Rock and Boston to integration.

  20. Ilhan Omar: "Every single statement that we make is from a place of extreme love for every single person in this country."

Trying to channel Marianne Williamson does not work.
