  1. It's a day of street fairs and block parties all across the city today.

I just got back home from FestivALE down in Fishtown, and though Philly Beer Week officially continues through tomorrow, most of the 'Last Blast' (so to speak) events are happening today.

(not to be confused with the deadly blast caused by criminal contractors elsewhere in the city, literally just a few blocks down the street from L&I,, which is quite possibly the most inept and dysfunctional city agency anywhere in the US.)

Anyway. If youze find a Sly Fox Grisette

      ;)

(Sorry for the split comment, don't know why the first one published while I was still typing!)

    3. Not much, believe it or not. ;)

I'm sure I probably meant to hit preview to check a link or something, and hit 'publish' instead. But it was a few hours ago, and I'm old, and now I can't remember. Heh.

  2. And if anyone happens to find themselves in town this week, I'll be at Clark Park, probably Thursday evening, trying my hand at the public pianos.

In case anyone wants to boo and / or cheer me.

    ;)

Btw, I finally figured out why I was just called a 'foreigner' by someone who is, or at least claims to be, from Pennsylvania, here at this very site a few days ago. Despite the fact that one of my (non-Jewish) grandmothers was a third-generation Pennsylvanian, born in Hazleton around 100 years ago, and that one branch of my immediate family goes back five generations in Pennsylvania.

    Duh.

it's because the now-banned (thanks, Mike - good call), neo-Nazi troll obviously doesn't recognize anyone who has any Jewish heritage whatsoever as an American. His bigotry could not possibly be clearer.

And yet he has the gall to call others bigots and racists. Pffftttt!

    1. It's truly incredible, isn't it? I let it slip by at first, but then the next day it was one of those "whoa, wait a minute"-type things...

  3. Neat piano. Very impressive C Sharp bringing down that building. Coolest design on a piano I've ever seen.

    1. I actually had a little home recording studio set-up when I was 19 (just before meningitis took a giant chunk of my hearing), an Alesis QS8 keyboard synth amongst it.

I've long since forgotten most of what I taught myself in my teens, and I don't fool myself into thinking I can actually play piano, but I'd like to at least think I can come up somewhat short of completely embarrassing myself. ;)

Now I just need to figure out what to try to play for a minute or two!

    2. If I could do this, I would. But yeah, I can't.
