The following tidbit was written by Ilon Ben Zion and published at the Times of Israel.
A 9-year-old Israeli girl was injured Saturday night in a suspected terrorist attack at the West Bank settlement of Psagot, outside Ramallah. The girl, who was playing in the yard outside her home, said she was shot by a gunman at very close range; confusingly, doctors said later that they had not established whether her wounds were caused by a shooting or a stabbing. As of this moment we do not have the necessary information to make any fair and rational judgments on who shot this young girl in the chest. Furthermore, according to the Times of Israel report:
The girl, who did not lose consciousness, was reported in light-to-moderate condition by doctors at Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek medical center. It was “not clear” whether she had been shot or stabbed, said Dr. Danny Fink. Security sources said they believed the incident was a nationalist terrorist attack, but were not ruling out other unspecified possibilities.
Sirens sounded in the settlement shortly after the gunfire was first reported, and security forces converged on the area. Magen David Adom paramedics performed first aid on the victim and rushed her to Shaare Zedek. She was in serious but stable condition when admitted to the hospital’s trauma ward.Until we learn more, I do not have a whole lot to say about this story, however, if you go into the comments below the TOI piece you will find some pertinent ideas expressed by Matt Giwer who tells us this:

Parents should not bring children to live on military outposts in occupied territory.
What did they expect to happen?

Stay in Israel. Get back to Israel. End the occupation. Don't bring children to military outposts. Most parents have at least that much sense.
And this:
Matt Giwer · Top Commenter · U. of CincinnatiWhat Mr. Giwer is telling us is that the real criminal is not the terrorist who shot this 9 year old girl in the chest, but her parents for daring to live where Jews have always lived.
If her parents had stayed in Israel where they belong ...
In other words, Jews should be allowed to live over here, but not over there, and if we do move over there we are fair game for any kind of violence and deserve whatever beating that we get.
The problem is partly our own fault, because we have affirmed Arab anti-Jewish racism. By going along with this notion that Jewish villages in Judea and Samaria represent some sort-of terrible affront to the local Arabs, we are telling the rest of the world that they are right to despise us.
The Jewish left went along with blatant anti-Jewish racism because so many told us that what the local Arabs want is a state for themselves in peace next to Israel and if only we would end the "occupation," which is to say, ethnically-cleanse Judea and Samaria of Jewish people, then the Arabs would no longer want to kill us.
This is false.
And as of this writing the attempted murderer is still at large.
