Here is one Nakba Day you won't hear a murmur about from the racist bleeding hearts of Byron Bay in a thousand BDS conferences.

Ministerial committee decides to set special memorial day on Jewish calendar to mark deportation of hundreds of thousands of Jews from Arab countries • Day will likely be remembered on anniversary of Farhud pogrom in Baghdad in 1941, during which 170 to 780 Iraqi Jews were killed.

Why is that?

OK Byron Bay Market bleeding heart racists. I know you come here so take a look at this video and you might start to learn something about some issues about which you have chosen to remain utterly silent and profoundly ignorant. Feel free to show it at your conference. You won't of course.

Do you wonder why I do not hesitate for a moment to condemn you for the racists you are?

Daniel Khazoom. Farhud (Baghdad Pogrom)

  1. Good one Geoff

I'd like to draw this to the attention of the same racist gang at Byron Bay.

    "Forgotten Refugees"
In 1945 there were up to one million Jews living in the Middle East and North Africa outside the Palestine Mandate - many living in ... all » communities dating back more than three millennia. Today, there are only several thousand remaining.(These figures are from 2008 there are even fewer now)

Who are these Jews? What precipitated their mass-exodus in the 20th century? Where did they go? And why do we always hear about the Palestinian refugees, but didn't even know these Jewish refugees existed?

  2. A very good treatment of the Farhud is Edwin Black's The Farhud: Roots of the Arab-Nazi Alliance in the Holocaust.

The truth of the matter, of course, is that the world could hardly care less about the 800,000 to one million Jews who were chased out of Arab lands after World War II.

They often claim to care about Palestinians, at least on the left, but that is only when Palestinians can be used as a club against Israel. Essentially, the western left uses Palestinians in a way consistent with how the Arab governments use Palestinians, as a weapon against Jews.

    1. Exactly. This can also be seen with BDS, a 'movement' which seeks the violent destruction (how else can their ideal scenario possibly come about in the real world?) of the world's sole Jewish state, containing nearly half of the world's Jewish population, under the guise of advocating for Palestinians.

The contrast between how the Arab countries treated (and continue to treat) the Palestinians in their countries, compared to how Israel took in the Jewish refugees ethnically cleansed from Arab countries, could not be more stark. Yet another case in which it should be absolutely clear to any real liberal which state in the region truly lives up to the ideals 'progressives' claim to hold and value.

  3. "under the guise of advocating for Palestinians."

I think this question needs to be asked every time someone or some group alleges that is what they are doing.....advocating for Palestinians. So often it is obviously NOT what is really going on.
