I don't think so after Sarkozy's remarks. Then there is this from Israel Matzav
"Eddy, who was born in Israel to French immigrants, applied for a French passport intending to go study there. He completed the paperwork and was issued a temporary travel document. On his way home from the consulate in Jerusalem, he noticed something strange."It had all my details, my identification number, my address – Ma'ale Adumim – but the State of Israel was omitted," Eddy told Ynet."It's infuriating," he added. "I wanted to go back there and tell them I don't need their passport. I knew that the French were anti-Semitic, and I wouldn't have been surprised if they wrote 'Ma'ale Adumim, Palestine,' but they chose the harsh wording of 'Occupied Palestine.'"Ynet has learned that Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman intends to send the French government a harsh letter of protest, demanding it to remove the label."
No one should be surprised; even Israel's greatest buddy, the USA, whose DEMOCRATIC president, Obama, disses Bibi, won't issue passports for kids born in Jerusalem with the state being identified as Israel. It's like those bosom buds don't think Israel even exists. Or perhaps based on their recent faux pas they just WISH it didn't.
Jerusalem is the capital city of the Jewish nation.ReplyDelete
The local Arabs could have had part of it if they had agreed to a state for themselves, but they never did. Decade after decade they absolutely refused to accept a state for themselves in peace next to the Jewish one and still refuse a state for themselves in peace next to Israel.
That being the case, as far as I am concerned, they have lost any and all claims to any part of Jerusalem as a capital for any future Arab state in the area.
I'll probably be considered a racist by some for this but Jerusalem is never mentioned even once in the Koran. That talks to me given subsequent events and claims.ReplyDelete
And this business about Jerusalem being the "third holiest site" in Islam?ReplyDelete
For well over a thousand years the Islamic world entirely neglected Jerusalem, when they had control of it.
They only really started caring about Jerusalem, the Jewish city, when the Jews returned to claim it, other than that they did not care.
I just found THIS. I didn't know this otherwise I would have been talking about what a moron Sarkozy was before. This is simply detestable.ReplyDelete
"In 2009, Sarkozy granted the Légion d’Honneur (France’s equivalent of the Presidential Medal of Freedom) to Charles Enderlin, the French journalist who falsely accused Israel of killing Muhamad Al-Dura, thus igniting the second Intifada as well as “revengeful” acts such as the beheading of Daniel Pearl."
